You are in excellent hands with David and Sado at 101 Auto Body! My 1988 Honda CRX was sideswiped in the middle of the night while parked in Berkeley. I came out to see my baby in the morning all banged up, then dropped to my knees and cried like a little girl. My left rear 1/4 pannel was dented and caused the tire to rub against the wheel well. No note, no witnesses, just a good old bash and mash, a bang and bounce, a hit and run. Unfortunately my uninsured motorist coverage couldn't cover this one, and I was gonna have to dip up in my pockets. So I went up and down San Pablo looking for the best quote at the most highly recommended shops here on Yelp. 101 Auto Body beat everyone's prices by at least $300. Mind you that I was slapping down straight up cash to get this done, so they knocked off some of the costs. After 4 days in the shop, "my little 8 ball in the corner pocket", as I like to call her, was clean as can be. These guys matched the original metallic black paint to perfection, straight seamless, which is not easy to do. (M&M said they couldn't do it) I also had my hood repainted because it had some scratches and was also starting to wear. They even gave her a wax, cleaned the rims, and had her ready to go for the weekend. These guys are pros, and know how to treat their customers right! read more

Using bodyshop is like going to hospitals. You really don't your car to be damaged and repaired. But if you get into accidents, you need these facilities to restore the cars to its original conditions. I met David and Frank through a mutual friend we share. I am such a lucky guy with family members getting into accidents hitting and getting hit with their cars always myself included. Each time "101 Autobody shop" made me feel very happy after the repair. Car insurance companies always have bodyshops of their choice to recommend but I resisted and told them of my choice. I've taken my 2014 Mazda to 101 Auto Body 3 times in the last 3 years and am about to take it to them for the fourth time. Living near Berkeley, with its tight parking spaces and bountiful cars, I've had car doors opened into my car a couple times, and I've also miscalculated when making tight maneuvers, myself....so...it's great to have a body shop that does excellent work (they are an approved AAA repair shop, too) and competitive, fair pricing. The owner and his team are unfailingly courteous, and it's super convenient to pull up right in front of the shop, park, and get an estimate in a few minutes. read more

I brought a 1995 celica to this firm many years back (pre-yelp) since it was AAA-recommended. Within a year the paint on the replaced fender started to "melt" away to expose the black primer underneath. When confronted, the owner of 101 autobody just avoided the subject. I would never recommend this autobody shop due to its' extremely shady business practices. read more

2007 Honda Civic Hybrid met a the lug nuts of a Ford F750 Flatbed on the freeway. Not much left of the left rear panel. Very prompt and professional service! Someone bent my rear bumper while my Honda Fit was parked on the street. David gave me an accurate estimate and even suggested calling my insurance agent to check if a claim would raise my premium (it wouldn't but the cost of repair was the same as my deductible so a claim was not worth it). Wow wow wow/!!! There's a reason why certain business earn a 4.5 overall Yelp rating. They go above and beyond what is required. I was rear-ended (boo!) and my bumper was split across the entire length. The entire repair time took 1 week, and they really went above and beyond what was required. Of course, I got a new bumper. But apparently, the accident damaged part of side panels. So they fixed the side panels, including a few scratches that weren't from this collision but from a bicyclist that hit me. The car was also washed, the inside vacuumed, and the wheels detailed! I really hope I never require 101 Auto Body services again, but if I am involved in a collision again, this will be my first pick of shops. Weekday hours are 8-5 which isn't great for dropping off or picking up during the week, but they are open on Saturday mornings. read more

Let's just say I'm so glad I found 101 Auto Body. I've been told that I had a coolant leaking problem and it was supposed to cost me nearly $1,000. According to the other competitor mechanic shop, my car needed at least 5 different replacement. Thank God for 101 Auto Body. All I needed to do was radiator installation. They worked with my insurance carrier AAA to prevent her from being totaled (apparently cold, hard depreciation trumps sentimental value). My new 2010 Honda Insight was rear ended. The Honda dealership nearby recommended 101 Auto. The guy I worked with, Sado, was a very polite and professional guy. Well, they replaced the bumper and painted to match. The color matches. The space gap between the new bumper and the adjacent original piece is tighter on one side than the other...but only I would notice it. Overall, I am satisfied with the workmanship and very happy with the professionalism and courtesy of Sado. The only reason for four not five stars, is that I feel 101 Auto's labor is a bit on the high side, thank goodness the repair was paid by the other guy's insurance. read more

Not gonna lie--young adult who has never been in an accident before. I knew there were lots of auto body shops along San Pablo, so I just stopped at a few to get some quotes. I wasn't going to stop at 101 because I already had three, but I'm so glad I did! 101 was slightly cheaper than the second lowest quote, so I chose to just leave my car there. The man asked me what I wanted done. My primary concern was doing only what I HAD to do to keep my car running and safe (my car is just a simple civic, and I'm just a student after all). When he asked if I wanted a paint job over the damaged area, I said no because it was going to way more than I would have wanted to pay. BUT, when I came to pick up my car (I think it took 3 days...I don't remember), they had painted it for me at no charge! The paint color looked exactly the same too! Moreover, my car was SUPER clean--it looked good as new! I honestly felt like they REALLY CARED about me as an individual and my car, which you really wouldn't expect from an auto body shop. read more
