This is a family owned business and they all are so responsive, supportive, communicative, and attentive! I got into a car accident in December of 2022 and got my car back in February 2023. Paul the owner and his son Paul dealt with my very complex and reluctant to cooperate insurance to get the best deal and best plan to fix my car. They helped order all new parts for my 2022 Subaru when my insurance would not allow for it. Paul also got me hooked up with a rental car for the 2 months my car was in the shop. They did have some of their technicians/painters out, insurance being very difficult, and some parts ordering delays, but Paul was so kind enough to get me a rental car! My Subaru Forester was rear ended after Covid in 2020 and Harry was the owner at the time. They did a very good job, repairing the rear cargo door, etc. However, several screws came loose on the rear cargo door latch. I went back to the shop in March 2023 and found that Harry had retired and there was a new owner named Paul, I spoke with Paul briefly and he right away directed me to the person who was able to take off the necessary molding to get to the latch and secure it with the bolts tightly. From the get go it was clear harry does not care about the safety of his customers. Multiple visits and he was not wearing a mask nor does he have his employees wear one while working on your car. Our 1989 Toyota Camry was damaged by a hit and run vehicle. It needed a new rear bumper. Golden Gate Collision's bid was substantially less than the first bid we received. The work was done in two days instead of seven. The repair was so excellent in color and fitting, that it was impossible to see it had been damaged. So we were very happy. Paul and his son were on top of it from the beginning and offered to send a tow truck out when GEICO didn't "have anyone available". He got the process up and running and was super straight forward with the process. My insurance wasn't the easiest to work with but they kept me updated every step of the way and let me know what was going on. I was referred to this great body shop by Albany Subaru after my poor 1yr-old Impreza was hit and run while parked over on University Ave Harry was always prompt in communication and kept calm, cool, and patient when my insurance company was being slow, sending mixed signals, and finally when they decided to total the vehicle. I felt bad that my insurance company had been like that with him, but he was always happy to chat, kind, and an all-around great guy. Later, when I got a new Impreza, he helped when I wanted to get some different OEM parts installed, and was super patient when I had the wrong connector for some of those parts. This was the best experience I've ever had at any auto repair shop. After a hit-and-run in my neighborhood, I needed to replace my driver side door. I came to GGC because a client at my small business recommended the shop & because of the positive reviews. Harry's customer service was top notch from start to finish. Very helpful. One day my kids put a garbage bin just in my blindspot. As I backed up, my side view mirror was cleanly decapitated at the pivot point by the bin, left dangling helplessly by the wires. Total cost to replace at dealer- close to $700! Inspired by the great reviews, I called over to ask by how much they could beat the dealer's quote. The gentleman on the phone directed me to an internet part store, wherein I called and got the assembly, minus the cap, for $100! I brought over the part when it came in, and left my old mirror and voila! Done. Labor less than $100. Total cost to repair less than $200!
