My experience with the staff and facilities was acceptable; however I do not approve of their unethical business policies and their terrible customer service and management. I was told by staff when I signed up for 10 gym that all I needed to do to cancel was process by cancellation about a week before the membership was to renew. I was NOT told that I need to give 30 DAYS WRITTEN NOTICE before cancellation, and that's my membership would still be active and I would be charged for an additional month. They wouldn't let me cancel over the phone or in person. And I even had to call back and ask again because they did not reply to my email. I got this email after I called back asking them to process my email cancellation request. I've included a screen shot of their reply. Even though I requested cancellation with plenty of notice before the next month, customer service and management refused to cancel my membership. When I let them know the staff are not properly trained on the cancellation policy, or were purposely misleading, and that's not what I was told, they told me it was in the contract. So I am leaving a review to tell all potential gym applicants AVOID 10 GYM. They need to evolve and stop treating their patrons so disrespectfully. Shame on you 10 Gym. read more

Okay gym for the price, but also pretty janky. Lots of missing clips for the cables, a lot of the dumbbells are damaged, and bathrooms stay out of service and dirty. Also homeboy at the front desk smells like weed constantly, so you get a solid wiff of that as soon as you walk in. Would highly encourage ownership to invest some capital to improve the gym. Refresh dumbbells, have enough clips, etc. read more

I have been trying to cancel my membership with 10 gym for the past 2 months, they have not been helpful and have been continuing to not only charge me the monthly fee but the annual fee which adds up to over $100. They are refusing to refund me for the annual fee despite my efforts with trying to cancel for TWO WHOLE MONTHS. I have called and emailed customer care numerous times. 10/10 would recommend. Finding motivation to hit the gym is one thing but, it doesn't matter what time of the day I go, I'm always able to find the machines and weights I need available. Not to mention, signing up was a breeze and very straight forward. My membership gets me gym access, tanning, and I can bring my buddy with me for less than $25 a month are you kidding me? Went here for over a year. Terrible gym they do not care about their customers at all. All they want you to do is sign up so they can drain the money from your account and they make it very hard to cancel. I've been having vehicle problems and can't pay for it. They do not work with you. They are a big corporation and don't care about people's livelihoods. It's ridiculous you're going to charge me more money because I can't drive to cancel my membership due to my transmission going out in my truck. They won't work with me or refund me for the months I couldn't go to the gym to cancel or even just workout due to my trucks problems. Absolutely asinine behavior from 10gym management. Incredibly hard to cancel. They can't cancel for you in club, which is ridiculous. They give you a number to call that no one ever answers. I finally found a way to do it online, but it only offers a buyout option which charges way more than my remaining monthly fee for two months and won't cancel me until mid September although I've been there for over a year. Beware joining, unless you want to stay for life or pay extra to get out. read more

The customer service people are always very nice and understanding. I went the other day and they got stuck with a very difficult person coming in, and I witnessed them handle it greatly even while the guy continued to help me as well. They are always kind and courteous and if I have a billing issue, they are more than willing to help. read more

Terrible Experience, Shady Practices First and foremost - I really detest the fact that this gym hides an annual fee in their agreement. That information was not overtly obvious upon signing up and is clearly an attempt to sucker people in with the $10 a month pricing, only to slap on a $50+ charge 3 months into it. THE FACT that the support line leads with this information is practically admitting that they know this is a deceptive sales tactic. Secondly, I recently needed to relocate back to Chicago for work. Trying to end my membership was laughable. I first requested to end my membership IN PERSON AT THE GYM and was told that was not possible, and was directed to call a phone number to cancel. I then called that phone number, was shuffled around by a robot for 5 minutes, finally connected with a person and was told I needed to register for some portal online in order to cancel my membership. What a joke. I THEN went to the online portal, registered (in order to cancel??), and the site would not load no matter how long I sat in front of my computer, across different internet browsers, closing and reopening etc. Top that off with sub-par equipment, 20-30% of the cardio machinery non-functional and seemingly no effort to repair the broken equipment and this gym and its branches have been a terrible, terrible experience. I strongly urge anyone considering this gym to look elsewhere. read more

I've currently been going to 10gym since freshman year & now I've been graduated for 2 years now me & my mother used to go 3 times a week at 4:00am now I just go alone 4 times a week I honestly never had a issue the people at the front desk have proper communication skills unlike a lot of people now days. I seen there's a lot of reviews about the sign up free $50 I've had 4 friends join me this month & signed up & I was next to them the whole time they went over everything & made sure we didn't have any more questions. Don't sign up if you don't want to cancel, because you can't. You CANNOT cancel your contract. EVER. Additional charges, upon additional charges. 20 dollars turns into 40 that turns into 60 which is now 100. The whole calling corporate is the runaround. read more

A lot of people on yelp have entitlement issues. For a gym that has 100's of people in and out daily and stays open 24/7 apart from the weekends. It's amazing, plenty of equipment where I come on the busy times and always find what I need. Super clean mostly apart from the sauna but that's every sauna I've ever seen in my life. Only problem I've ever had is sometimes people snag the clips on the cables, but that's not management, just people. Place is amazing, I won't stop anytime soon. read more

physically assaulted by a trainer and forced to give up gym equipment, because according to her " as a worker I can do that". trainer threatened to call the police and then physically removed the gym equipment under me, causing me to fall on my butt, thus sending jolts of pain up my spine and neck. also wrist hurt from the fall. the gym equipment was in use by me at the time. this worker approached with no provocation. I like the gym, but after this scenario I don't know that I would recommend the gym if the personnel behave in this manner. I have been at this gym since it was All America, almost 20 years now. The gym itself is nice, basic equipment, sauna and heavy weights. Overall good members there. read more

My home away from home. I see the 10 gym crew more than some of my family. I work out at the NW Expressway location and the staff there is amazing. Warm friendly faces when you walk in. I love the manager Adam. He is very inviting. I love that they remember the regulars. If you miss a few days, they will notice! Just a heads up. I signed up on a Cyber Monday $10 monthly contract and read the details. It seemed pretty straight forward. One month later I have $55 in fees plus the $10 fee due for fees. Was recommended by a friend and have loved going here. There is plenty of workout equipment, plenty of machines, and plenty of space to workout. Even when this gym is "busy" it's really not packed. Beware of signing a contract with the training manager, Norm. He assured me I would have consistency which was an outright lie. I have not even been there 8 months and I'll be on my third trainer. Not only that, but they double book! So had to share the appt with someone else so the trainer had to go back and forth between us. I am having to get a lawyer to get out of the contract. I don't need much in a gym - decent equipment, a locker room and a fairly clean environment and I'm happy. I really just need an elliptical, a treadmill and some dumbbells and I can make it work. I will say I really enjoy the group fitness classes here more than I expected. I tend to expect group classes at an inexpensive gym like this to be not very challenging, but I always break a sweat in the Zumba and Pump classes, and the Kickboxing on Saturday morning is my absolute favorite. I took a kickboxing class at my college gym when I was in school, loved it, and haven't found anything I've liked near as much until now. It's a lot of fun and a great workout. The tanning beds aren't the greatest, but for such a low price that's to be expected. I get color eventually, but it usually takes a couple weeks before I start to notice. read more
