If you plan on coming here, I recommend renting your gear (kayak, canoe) instead of renting from here. They have a total of 2 tantum kayaks and 1 single kayak but everything was booked, and no one answered the phone that morning (probably busy?). Luckily somone cancelled right when we got there. They are busy and offer a lot with a small staff so set your expectations accordingly. If calling, you will likely have to leave a message and wait for a call back. TERRIBLE - this experience was shocking to say the least. Larry - shame on you. Your horrifying attitude shows how miserable you are as a person. I am appalled at how you treated our group of 6 young women. Especially considering the issue was due to YOUR own mistake, lack of communication and just overall poor management. You should not be running a business or interacting with humans. I booked a 20 foot pontoon on 4/19/22 for a rental date of 6/18/22 as a surprise for my friend's 29th birthday. (I would like to note - we had two girls fly in for this weekend from California and Chicago). Our party of 6 arrived at 12:10 for our 12:30 reservation (reservation asks you to arrive at least 15 minutes early). When I went to check in, the young man working the register looked like he was about to have a panic attack. I soon realized that was because his manager (Larry) gave our boat to another party that morning and told them to be back an hour after our reservation was booked (told them to have the boat back by 1:30 but our reservation began at 12:30). The earlier reservation's boat did not start that morning, so they gave them our boat. We understand that these things happen. Our issue was that no one called us and that there was no apology, rather one of the most hostile reactions I have ever experienced. They knew this issue existed at 8AM, so why wait until 12:15 when I am checking in to say something? We planned our whole weekend around this boat rental. Larry said we can 'just extend our reservation into the evening', like he was doing us a favor, not once apologizing. The really frustrating part is that there was rain predicted that afternoon and the only sunshine lasted through about 1:30. So we had anticipated paying over $400 for our 5 hour rental, only able to enjoy about one hour of sunshine between 12:30 - 1:30/2. But when attempting to check in, were told that we would not be on the boat until 1:30 which turned into 1:45 - the time kept getting later. I went to chat with my party that was waiting outside of the shop to process what I was told. Two of my friends came back in to talk with the employees. There was a 'manager' between the man that checked me in and 'Larry'. He addressed us at the counter, stuffing chips into his mouth. As soon as my friend asked why we did not receive a call, he snapped, shouting across the store - "I am so short staffed and don't have time to f*ucking deal with this. I am going to get Larry so he can tell you the same f*cking thing! How about we just refund you your f*ucking money?!" To which my friend responded, "That would be great!". If you are so short staffed, why didn't you take the appropriate action to call us when you knew this was going to be an issue rather than waiting to deal with it when we arrived? Its management 101 and a monkey could have handled this situation better. Had you made that call in the morning, you would not have had to address me at the counter while shoving chips in your mouth and could have taken a proper lunch break? Rather than screaming at me while I was calmly asking for a solution that we could agree on. Larry acts like this so of course, his employee thinks it is ok. This made everyone in the store SO uncomfortable. This interaction made me cry immediately (I guess I don't do well with people yelling in my face?) so I gave my card and ID to the two girls with me and went to wait outside. After mulling it over - we decided that we had been disrespected and just wanted to get refunded and not have to deal with these awful people any farther. When we followed up and told Larry we wanted a full refund, he said, in front of other customers, "I am sick of your whining, I will just give you a refund". WOW THANKS LARRY! End of the day, Larry and his little angry side kick met us with hostility because they knew they had made a mistake and rather than make it right, blew up on us when we questioned them. I want to say I feel bad for the other employees. To the younger man and woman behind the counter - you deserve better in your workplace and should not be treated the way I saw Larry speak to you. He also should not be setting you up to fail like this. I know it was his decision to give away our boat and you had to sit in the uncomfortable environment that him and angry side-kick-chip-boy created for everyone involved. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE- I WISH I TOOK THE REVIEWS MORE SERIOULSY!!! Also last note - I have been in customer service for over 15 years and this is the first review I have ever written. I am very good at working with difficult people, but could have gotten farther with a 5 year old throwing a tantrum than these two 'men'. Double booked me on a pontoon rental and didn't care about the mistake. Very poorly run business!

If the world were flooding and the only available boat was available and free from this marina, I would rather drown. The young guy who rents the boats (we'll call him Punk Boat Guy) is aggressive, foul mouthed and cares little about the customers spending money at his business. We rented the 20' pontoon boat for 6 hours, ready to spend $450 for a day on the water. I walk in and give the nice young lady at the counter my name. Just then, Punk Boat Guy comes up (with his arm in a sling. Presumably from the last customer he mouthed off to) and says "this is the guy I was talking about." Then he asks me "how many people do you have on the boat". I say 9, just like I did when I booked my reservation. He says "you are lucky, I only have 1 boat left that fits 9. It's a new boat too, so don't F*** it up". Um, I've never met this guy before in my life, haven't said more than 2 words to anyone, and have already paid $450 and allowed another $350 deposit hold at this point. At this point I am realizing I may have made a mistake renting a boat from 11 mile. Punk Boat Guy says meet me at the picnic table around back with your crew and gear. So we start unloading all of our gear for the day at the picnic table around back as instructed. At this point, Punk Boat Guy comes over and says "what are you going camping? You can't take this much stuff on my boat." OK, no problem. I understand that we may have brought too much stuff because we planned on riding around on the boat and then parking it somewhere for a while and hanging out on shore. That is not allowed, which is fine, but they don't say that on their website or in any of the emails or disclaimers you receive ahead of time. No problem, happy to take most of the gear back to the car and just ride around all day. However, Punk Boat Guy proceeds to berate me and my family for another 5 minutes picking up every item we brought down and telling us that we are ridiculous and there is no way he is going to let us rent the boat like this. He gets done with his trirade and my brother calls him out for being rude and he says I will just refund you don't get to the boat. At this point, that was music to my ears. Renter beware. I can't believe the negative reviews! we had such a great experience with this marina. we rented for a day that was thundering and lightning and a rain deluge. Larry gave us a postponement for our rental. We went yesterday. The girl in the shop was lovely. The guy who helped us with our pontoon was so nice. We were greeted with a sarcastic staff - all three men. They used foul language. When we purchased worms and chocolate, I asked my son not to let the worm container touch my chocolate. The cashier, hearing this, opened the worm container, fingered them then handled the chocolate. When we asked for an item, rather than walking with us across the store to help us, he used a laser pointer and stated, "it's over there." The store had no other customers, and he was too lazy to walk over to help. The website is very misleading, stating that the staff is friendly and helpful. It was anything but friendly and helpful. The staff behaved as if they were there because they had to be and we (customers) were a burden to them. The bathroom was over-filled, full of flies, dirty, and disgusting. We will NEVER return! Service was good and I enjoyed my canoe/kayak rental. Prices are expensive (I think it was $80 for a canoe + kayak for 2 hours) but this is the only spot to rent boats in the area. The store sells food, fishing rods and other outdoor gear you might need. The store owner told us not to swim in the lake because of giardia so make sure to keep your balance and stay in the boat. You aren't allowed to stop on shore on the other side of the lake. They give you life jackets and a whistle as well as a spare life jacket in case you find anyone in the water who needs one. I made a boat reservation a month in advance. Called and left several messages in the week leading up to the date to confirm. Never heard back from them and when I showed up they said they had no record of the reservation. Further the staff was rude and did not even try to rectify the situation. Rather he got pissy and stated "dont get mad at me, I am just a low wage employee". I don't really care how much you get paid, customer service should be provided. Warning. I would stay far away from this facility. I agree with Kurtis. We rented a boat here and I was left stranded with 2 young kids. The boat was faulty, the emergency radio was useless. I was not communicated with and stuck for over an hour, the staff said their emergency radio system kept cutting out and doesn't work good. I was told to hold tight, that someone was coming for us and no one ever showed up. Finally some other boaters pulled us in by rope to shore. It was a horrible experience. The owner Larry said he would rent to me again and give me a free hour for my troubles, lol, as if I would ever rent from them again. The owner and staff at the marina are horrible to each other and to their customers. We paid $475 to rent a slip for a month and when we arrived to put the boat into the slip, they told us they hadn't set up the docks due to winds. No one ever called us to tell us not to come or to offer a refund. When I raised my hand in a frustrated "I can't believe this" gesture because we had not been notified not to drive up (the owner just said: "I guess you weren't on the call list" as if he couldn't care less), the owner began to berate and harass me for daring to express any frustration. He ranted on and on and ON until I finally told my husband that I was going to wait outside and left the store. My husband came out a few minutes later and said he'd asked for a refund, which I hope is pending. If it isn't, we'll have to interact with these people more, which is something I don't recommend anyone do. After arriving back home, we read through a lot of reviews online in which many people have expressed similar horrible experiences, including inappropriate racial slurs, yelling at people's children, and overcharging customers and/or cheating them out of extra money for imaginary damages to rented boats. I made reservations in march for a Labor Day weekend boat day trip. We were running late due to traffic, so we called the marina 1.5 hrs before reservation time to notify them we would be abt 45 min late. Upon arrival the employees couldn't have been more rude in the marina. The manager looked me in my eyes and said "it's not my fault you're late so you'll just have to wait" when we had not said a single word to anybody about being upset or impatient about waiting for the boat. He just chose to confront us with this little quip out of nowhere. As we boarded the boat, he insulted me to my husband and said "for someone who plans a Labor Day trip in March, your wife really can't organize a group of people can she". Delays happen, especially on holidays, and we communicated it with them. I dont know why he was so insulted, enough to harp on this so much. We chose to not fight with the owner about his extremely rude behavior, and just tried to have fun. When we got out on the lake, we noticed we were sent out on a boat that had a gas tank that read empty. I called the marina about it, the person who answered (after several tries) said that boat just does that sometimes and that "we were lucky they answered the phone". The boat was covered with dead bugs and only had 6 seats although it was advertised as an 8 person boat. Then, upon return to the dock, the ONLY person who was nice to us the entire time, abruptly insulted one of our guest's skin color "look at this guy, he's so white!!". This was after we shared with him some of our food and snacks. We tried so hard to be cool with every employee there, but it seems their mission truly is to provide a terrible experience. We were also surprised to find that there was an 18% gratuity that they would be charging us (not included or discussed in original reservation). For what, i have NO IDEA as we drove the boat on our own and had to clean all the bugs out of the crevices on our own. We've rented from lake Pueblo and have had a MUCH more enjoyable experience. I hate leaving bad reviews, but please don't waste your $$ or time here. You'll have a better time literally anywhere else. Go to the Taco Bell down the road instead. The people are SO much nicer and the service a thousand times better. read more

I asked about reserving a boat and was told the pontoons were half off for the day. I called during the week to make the reservation. The owner or whomever returns the phone calls cut me off very quickly telling me its only half off for 4 hours and that he could care less what his employees told me. We rented a fishing boat last weekend and the boat didn't work at all. The boat would run for no more than 2 minutes before shutting off, so needless to say we spent most of our 2 hours trying to fix the boat. We had a guided fishing excursion this morning, and it was fantastic. Our guide was confident, enjoyable, competent, engaging with our 8 year old grandson and absolutely wanted us to have a great time, and we did. We were on the lake around 7:40 and started catching fish just after 8 am. Our grandson caught the first three (rainbow 14-16 inches). All together, my wife, grandson and I brought 22 trout to the boat, and we had strikes and partial returns on top of that. I highly recommend this team. Word of advice if you want to have rod holders or a working boat bring your own (boat that is) upon arriving at the marina at 8am for our 8am start time we were advised that the trolling rods we requested 3 weeks early were not ready. This is a must do stop if you are planing on fishing Eleven Mile reservoir. They have a large selection of fishing and camping gear at good prices. The staff especially the local teenage cashier, was able to tell us exactly where the fish were pooled up for the day and what they were biting on. She even drew us a map to make sure we got to the right place.
