I love a good vintage record store but 11th Street Records is not one I need to visit more than once. First, very limited selection. I read online they had a great selection of new and used vinyl. They did not. Second, I'm not sure how they price their vinyl. There were numerous albums priced 70-100% higher than online or other local stores. I am all about supporting local business but the prices for newer stuff was actually crazy! My advice to future visitors is make sure you know what you are looking to buy there because you can likely find it less expensive elsewhere. read more

They offer a wide selection of genres from vintage golden oldies, jazz, motown, funk, indie, and there's even a special recording studio located in the back which is so cool! Did you know? David Bowie is the best-selling vinyl artist of the 21st Century. His vinyl sales for the 2000s placed him ahead of The Beatles! Going through vinyl records is definitely therapeutic and soothing. I found some really great artists including Kenny Rogers, Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli, and Lionel Richie. Awesome record store with great pricing. 11th Street records located in DTLV is honestly one of the cleanest and least dusty record stores I've been to despite having a ton of older/used items. They have rows and rows of $1 records and also new records which are primarily on the walls and up front. I left with $60 worth of great tunes :) 2 brand new and several used vinyls that all played well and were in good condition. read more

On a recent visit to Las Vegas I, of course, did some vinyl record shopping. I enjoyed the vibe of this store and picked up a couple of records. The owner and his wife were very friendly and he knew his inventory. Once I got home, put on some music, sat down and now It's time to enter them into discogs. I've been a record head for decades now. I'm sooo glad to have a decent vinyl store in DTLV. The staff is very knowledgeable at 11th Street and willing to help you find that one awesome piece of vinyl to add to your collection. This store has records at all price points from the budget collector just looking for a that classic hiss and pop of vinyl to rare Gems worth $100+. I like that they have listening stations for use while your browsing but those are always busy so I have a portable battery operated turntable that I bring with when I go record shopping. The inventory at 11th Street seems to turn often so the collection does not get boring. Also in the back they have a full service recording studio. Remember what it was like to go out of town and visit a local record store? Searching through the bins and finding those treasures. Well there are treasures to be found but not after you find out how much they cost! First off many of the records don't have prices on them. That's because they wait till you bring it to the counter where they proceed to look up how much it costs on Discogs!!!!!! If I wanted to shop on Discogs I can do that from the comfort of my home. What do I need to spend hours going through bins for? Unless you're looking for that out of town treasure.... Unfortunately at this place they're aren't any in the end... I hit up 6 different record shops in LV over the last 4 days. Bought several hundreds of dollars worth of vinyl. Just not here. This shops was hands down, the worst of the bunch. When I walked in, the guy behind the counter sorta grunted at me. Or, it might have been at the dog. I'm not sure. In any event, he did not, ever, ask if I needed help. Guess he didn't want to take off the headset he was wearing. The only time I saw him come out from behind the counter in the 30-45 minutes I was there was when he talked to someone that came out front from the recording area. This place has a LOT of records, to be sure, but there isn't any organization to speak of. Most of the bins are simply filled, with no regard to artist, genre, or anything. I'm sure there are things in there that I want, but between the utter lack of organization, and the less than stellar customer service, I'll never know. Because I'll never be back. read more

It seems like only yesterday that I was at a record store buying the latest single or browsing and listening to the latest songs. The memories of visiting a Virgin Records, Tower Records or Sam Goody was part of my childhood, just like for many multi-generation groups like your Millennials, Generation X, and Baby Boomers. That scene has faded in this day of digital age, "the sign of the times." However there are pocket of record stores throughout the valley that are worth checking out. This particular shop was nostalgic and a cool adventure down memory lane. It's truly a hidden gem in Fremont East District in Downtown. My sister and I stumbled across this place when we were across the street at The Writer's Block Book shop. So we had to check this placed out and found a few items that we personally purchased for our parents. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful but we opted to explore the shop on our own and to our surprise found a cool record that brought back many good memories of us at Filipino parties with our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and our extended family. We grew up listening to a wide range of music from the 50's to modern music of today. Plus if you haven't been to a Filipino party or gathering, Music is embeded in our culture especially the infamous KARAOKE music system that is found virtually in every Filipino home :) where everyone is a singer!!! Lol A great place to check out with family and friends if your ever in the area. Plus there is a good range of CD's and Cassettes on stock as well. read more

I was here on opening day which was also Record Store Day. The place was completely packed, barely enough room to wiggle around as it is in s small location right next to the Bunkhouse. The decor is minimal as they have just opened but the selection they have is amazing. Everything from jazz, blues, punk, hip hop, electro, 80's, you name it they have it. The walls are lined with first print vinyls that are must haves for collectors. With the recent resurgence it cassettes, they are also carrying some as well. I only come to expect great things from this location to come. We have a very limited market here in Vegas for record stores like this, so for 11th street to come by is completely heaven sent. read more

First day here and first opening day. Awesome selection, clean, organized and no hoopla. I used to work with some of the staff at another record store in town and I'm stoked that this place is open. This has to be, by far, the cleanest and most organized record store I have EVER been in. Everything is immaculate, everything is so easy to look through and it's also incredibly spacious. Being in DTLV fairly close to the arts district, there's also a lot of younger people here, and it reflects on the music selection; there is a lot of newer music to accommodate that demographic. Older material, there is not so much of, but it's still worth looking through and they have a lot of the classics. There's also a listening station with, if I remember correctly, a blue Orbit U-Turn table. You have to ask an employee to operate it for you, but you can listen to a lot of the used records that way if you're buying used records and gauging sound quality is what you're after. While I found a few of things I liked here, I also found that it was strangely lacking? A lot of the tabs for artists that interested me wound up empty. Pricing wasn't the greatest either -- I noticed represses of a few albums I already own marked up here. read more

Such a dope record store with amazing prices!! The guy working the day we went in to take photos was super chill and laid back and was totally fine with us taking photos in the store. You will never know what you'll find here. As people clean out their closets their old vinyl records find their way here. Their collection covers almost every genre. While I don't actively listen to my records, I am still very attached to them and won't give them up. I had some time before a play at the Public Fit theater so I was browsing through the records. I was able to find an old Beatles album that I didn't have. The staff is real cool and don't bother you. read more

Usually, I avoid going to record stores. Because, usually, they're always overpriced - both their new and used records. I was pleasantly surprised by this store and their affordable prices! I also LOVE how it's setup, with all artists combined in the middle of the store, with their clearance records on the outside. My taste in music varies, so the ability to look at Kanye West and then Weezer and then Stevie Wonder is really convenient for me! I think this is why I almost ended up walking out with a lot more records than originally planned. I only ended up buying two records (Jefferson Airplane and a-Ha) and my total only came out to about $10! I was super stoked. The cashier was super friendly, and even offered to hold on to my records while a friend and I walked around Fremont Street. I look forward to returning! read more

This place doesn't have a set schedule to when they're open or closed. It says their times on the door and online, but they're never open when they say. I've went twice. 2 and 1/2 hours before closing and 30 minutes after opening. No one there. I won't make that mistake again. I'd recommend going somewhere that you can actually get into. read more

Walking into the small quaint record store it seemed like a pretty neat shop. The space is clean, open, and modern--a breath of fresh air from some of the overstuffed and dank record shops in the Valley. The oddest thing though about walking in was the complete lack of any noise or music. Silence in a record shop? An older gentleman sitting behind the counter welcomed us and after a few minutes began playing records over the speakers inside of the joint. Going through the individual records I was immediately taken back by the organization of the records. No genres, no sections (excluding soundtracks/classical), rather everything was grouped together in several rows simply organized in alphabetical order. For some it is a blessing, especially when there are often albums that could belong in different genres sorted out by whoever it working that day, but for people who are browsing with specific genres in mind it can be a real pain. Regardless of preference however, the albums are very organized and the few genres that normally are aside from the lot (such as spoken word) are placed on their own. This is a matter of perspective, but something to think about nonetheless. After a good few minutes making a few selections, I brought them up to the front and asked to look at the conditions of the album. The gentleman working seemed short with me, as if the request was an unreasonable one and told me to be extremely careful. Several of the records I had pulled were listed as "very good" condition, yet had several deep scratches in the record itself--enough to make an unpleasant noise whenever the stylus crossed its path. Now, this is not a dollar record store like Zia or a thrift shop, and as such the expectation is that with a higher premium come records in better conditions. It was during all of this that I saw a record sitting, unsleeved, on the floor maybe giving a hit of just how well they maintain their inventory. After setting a few aside from their abysmal condition, I asked if I could sample a few of the selections both to make sure some of the scratches were not audible, and to hear a few albums that I was unfamiliar with. With the store being completely empty in the midday, the store clerk gave me a sigh and seemed, again, that I was a nuisance in his shop. Grudgingly, he walked over to the listening station and queued things up, and left me to my devices. Ultimately I ended up buying a few rather neat albums, but even when checking out was met with the same attitude. While the place has a very welcoming feeling to it--it is not very welcoming at all. I have been to record shops around the nation and stand as an avid collector always looking for the next little shop to pop into and see what they have. Unfortunately, this experience makes never want to return let alone recommend it. Edit: The owner has personally reached out to me to apologize for my experiences. If your a tourist or a local and like records you have to come into this store. Its easy to find, clean and friendly. Tons of vinyl, well organized and well maintained. Choice titles in great condition. I spent an hour going thru the 7 inches and found much treasure. At some record stores the hunt can be a chore; at 11th street it's a true pleasure. Number #1 record store in Vegas for sure! Hell, the whole west coast! Has the best selection in the west coast- Amoeba may have more volume but 11th Street has better records! Serious selection- the "secret stash" of 45's contains some of the rarest punk you've ever seen. The walls are lined with ultra-rare Jazz, Psych, Punk, and 90's stuff. You'll see bin cards that you've never seen before like "Suicide" and "Throbbing Gristle" and "Lord Sutch" because they have enough copies of these obscure titles to necessitate a bin card! Staff is amazing- very smart and super attentive. They care about the store as more than just a job for sure- they go above and beyond. Prices are reasonable. Some stuff runs on the high end but a lot of it is stuff you may never see again. Presentation- gorgeous! Beautiful checkered floors with well-made wooden bins and an open ceiling. The walls are lined with local show posters; a testament to 11th Street's mission to nurture the local music scene. If possible, check out the studio and live room- it is mind blowingly beautiful. There is a new bar raised for record stores in Vegas to do more than just capitalize on records but to nurture the scene, create great music, and have a great place to see local shows. This place is how every record store should be. read more

Been going here since opening day, and I love it. So glad Vegas has now a place to shop for records besides Zia and Record City. The selection here at 11th street is pretty expansive too. Found an original pressing of The Saints and the first Danzig album. They also have a cheaper section too with records ranging from $1-$5. They have a nice 45 section too which I am looking forward to seeing it grow. In the back, there is also a recording studio. A bonus too is that it is open until midnight, so I can check it before bunkhouse shows. read more
