Bought a few of WB "Leader Loss" albums (I collect them), a Grateful Dead promo CD, a Lovin' Spoonful comp lp and an import Patrice Rushen 3 lp import retrospective. He's an awesome guy with a deep knowledge of music and recordings, and he always makes the experience better. Two employees saw me struggling, and both looked away. Two stars for being a cool-looking place, but zero stars for the cold employees, especially the redhead who obviously got up on the wrong side of the bed that day. Unluckily for me, she was who "assisted" me at the counter. Odd policies in place, but it's their right. Something felt off from the beginning, so I left. Another reminder to trust your gut.

This place is something special, something unique. A once in a lifetime experience for the true vinyl collecting junky. I had the pleasure of visiting wax trax while on a work trip a week ago. Before coming in I did my research. I read all the bad reviews about how they don't price their inventory, how the owner is rude, blah blah blah. Those only made me more curious. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted and asked what I'm looking for. I told the owner my genre preference and they without hesitation showed me all the sections so I could start digging. Spent 2 hours searching on my hands a knees through row after row of 45s/ 12". Till eventually I landed on a rare banger that I myself have never even heard of and according to Discogs only 9 people own. This is something that doesn't happen so often when digging for me anymore. Right then and there I knew this place was something special. A true treasure trove of vinyl. The owner was even fair with his pricing. Overall this is a business that will never come around again and if you don't appreciate it while it's here then you will only miss it when it's gone. 10 out of 10 will be back again

I found one of my "grail" albums there and spent 30 plus minutes chatting with staff. I feel bad I didn't get names but everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. They have the mot organized system of used media that I have ever seen. I can see stopping by regularly to sift through their inventory. Tip: On-street parking is free from 11-2 for locals on weekdays. The 5 stars is especially for the owner who helped us, who was so welcoming and gave us the rundown. So many bins of music and movies. Are you a fan of reading they even keep a small library of books. Not as many books as years prior. The printed version of books are a dying breed. They offer a wide selection of genres from vintage golden oldies, jazz, motown, funk, indie, and there's even a special recording studio located in the back which is so cool! Did you know? David Bowie is the best-selling vinyl artist of the 21st Century. His vinyl sales for the 2000s placed him ahead of The Beatles! Going through vinyl records is definitely therapeutic and soothing. I found some really great artists including Kenny Rogers, Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli, and Lionel Richie. Surprisingly, the condition and quality of the vinyl record looks pretty good!

I read online they had a great selection of new and used vinyl. They did not. Second, I'm not sure how they price their vinyl. There were numerous albums priced 70-100% higher than online or other local stores. I am all about supporting local business but the prices for newer stuff was actually crazy! My advice to future visitors is make sure you know what you are looking to buy there because you can likely find it less expensive elsewhere.
