My first purchase from Moondog Records was downtown vintage market last year. I don't know why it's taken me so long to get down to there store. Probably because it is 40 minutes away from me. Well it is worth the drive! The selection is great! I came away with a great haul. Vinyl keep is pristine and the shop is well organized. You don't find that much in record stores! I will be back!

Moondog Records has the best selection I've seen compared to other record stores. And also the friendliest because right when you walk through the door, you are immediately greeted and asked if you need help with anything! I will say just a handful of vinyls are a smidge higher than what I'm used to, but this is just for your average record that you can buy on Amazon, assuming you can find it. I think Moondog Records is more of a specialty record store where you can find those unique vinyls that are super rare. The guy who I assumed to be the owner told me there are some records that go for hundreds because there is a limited print on them, which makes sense. So if you are looking for a rare vinyl gem or are a collector, this would be a good place to start your vinyl record hunting journey. In retrospect I would have bought more records, but I wanted to take my time on figuring out how much I was ready to spend. Last week I only walked out with two great vinyls, but now that I have seen the amazing selection Moondog offers, I'm definitely coming back for more! Thanks, Moondog Records for making vinyl cool again! You guys totally ROCK!

My daughter and her fiancé were in town and they're newly into vinyl. There is a great selection of old and new. It's kind of tight with the big selection. Service was great. They helped her find an obscure record she had been looking for. They ended up buying 5 records and my husband buying 5 more for them. I highly recommend this store for you vinyl needs.

Moondog Records is an incredible gem in the city of Las Vegas. The customer service is excellent, their selection is broad (especially for a ska fan like myself!), and the items I purchased were fairly priced! I called in to the store looking for some specific records, and the employee was happily willing to go through the shelves for me to ensure they had the inventory before I came in. Service with a smile is rare these days, and it's clear that the crew over at Moondog Records love what they do! Rock on!

I've been to several record stores in Las Vegas over the years, but Moondog is one that I would come back to on future visits. They stock is diverse and the pricing is reasonable for the area. When I walked in, I noticed there were a few specific artist sections for 12" singles and bootlegs. While they weren't artists I was specifically collecting, they would definitely be a treasure trove for those who are. That was then followed up by a huge selection of Japanese imports, which again, if you are collecting would have yielded quite a few take home purchases. Walking further back on the far right wall, there is a solid soundtrack section (where I grabbed Chungking Express and Viva Maria.) Of course, you also have your main rock and pop type genres through the middle of the store, including some more specialized breakouts for different genres. Glad to have found this store and look forward to my next visit.

My favorite record store in town, their metal section is always stocked with heavy hitters and I've found some gold looking through the 7"s!

The store is full of visually appealing items, with so much to see that you'll definitely need to make a second visit just to ensure you didn't miss anything. I was looking for a shop in Las Vegas that sells Pokemon cards, and upon entering Wii Play, I was amazed by the variety and quantity of cards available, from blind-bagged, beautiful rares to graded specimens--they were all there on display! Most importantly, the card selection was great, and I ended up leaving with quite a few handfuls of awesome foiled Pokemon cards. Their prices are fair, sticking within (sometimes below) the current market value or online listed prices. The friendly staff has a no-pressure selling attitude and gives you space to check the cards while also being knowledgeable enough to provide information and insight about your purchases. This has now become one of my go-to shops for Pokemon card hunting and impulse buying anime and gaming fandom merchandise. PS. Have cash or your physical credit/debit card available as their tap-to-pay system is always having issues.

I was going to purchase some cards, stickers & a pop figure but I decide to take my business elsewhere because of the same rude, dismissive and judgemental woman at the register. Long black hair and thick black glasses, old. My brother wanted to inspect the cards I chosen because wii play games is notorious for overpricing lightly and heavily played cards. Now I typically do not care as long as I really want the cards and i love supporting businesses with good ethics. But when I had asked the woman to see my cards, she had already passed a look to me. I told her that I wanted to see my cards, we could move to the side and that she could help the next customer behind me. I guess she had a hard time understanding what I meant, because she caught even bigger attitude when she asked "did you mean weren't ready when you wanted to look at your cards" in a very condescending tone. Okay, cool you finally understand me! I laughed out loud at the audacity, but I said to her again, "well i did say you could take the next customer so we could look at the cards" and she threw whatever was in her hands on the counter and called for the next customer. At that point I felt gross from her attitude so I just dropped everything and said "you know what, we're good I'm not getting shit here we're leaving" and yes, before I left I told my cousin that "no i'm not getting anything anymore, the lady is being a bitch" out loud so she could hear. not nice, no, but felt justified considering I was being judged for triple checking some overpriced cards. Never going back here and nor am i ever recommending anyone to come again. I had issues with attitude by this repeat woman but I always brushed it off. Nah, never again.

The owner Brian stepped in, took full responsibility, and made sure I had all the information I needed. I was told my order should be shipping soon, and appreciated the assistance. I called back to check on the store credit, was first told by a gentleman named Malik, he mentioned that the box would be sold on the floor for $139.99 entailing to $60 store credit. But, a day later, prices weren't up on their website for the booster box, I went into the store and asked about the store credit, the owner mentioned that the store credit was only $50, because they were gonna sell the boxes for $149.99. So I took the store credit anyway. No point arguing. Then, when they finally came up with the store pricing. It lists on their website for $120. Yeah, I get it, pricing fluctuates. But words should be kept. The website's and email's customer service is almost non-existent, I'd recommend calling them and asking questions if needed.

This is considering the several hours I've spent there. Also, lots of used, sometimes old and broken music equipment that are full priced; stuff that's $50-$150, that you'd realistically find at Goodwill for $10-$20. Some of the CDs are over $15 which is insane, considering the CDs they have aren't even organized; and 90% of them are bands/artists I literally have never seen.
