Hands down, without a single doubt - THE. BEST. BANG. FOR. YOUR. BUCK. I've been to tons of BBQ places, I've never had anything that has met the value of this spot. From my understanding, this location isn't the OG. It doesn't matter. I went with 6 wings and 2 sides + cornbread for $14!!! Unheard of now a days. Crispy. Moist. Delicious. The Mac n cheese was spot on. Smoked potato salad was delightful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very chill atmosphere with great staff and the food came out so quick, hot and ready to be devoured.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 10/10 if in the area. Incredible and I can't wait for my next meal.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Service and ambiance was successful, as it was relatively quick.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got half a rack of ribs with blueberry chipotle BBQ sauce alongside baked beans and smoked potato salad. The potato salad had an enjoyable amount of spice, and the unique thing about it is that there were a couple of large yet tender chunks of potato in there. The beans could have been a little more tender, but still had a good sweetness. The sauce on the ribs were highly sweet and the meat itself was super tender. Overall, this is one of the BBQ places to be.

We had the best wedge salad with smoked turkey. Lettuce was fresh, plentiful (enough for 2) loved the spicy ranch dressing and crumbled bacon. My husband had the chopped barbecue plate, collards and the most wonderful pickled okra salad. Cornbread was so tasty and fresh. We will be back!

Felt nice to come back after not being here for maybe 8 yrs or so. The food still hasn't changed much and ribs were as good as I remember. Glad to see despite all the damage the surrounding areas took, they're still doing good business wise. If you drop by the ribs are a must. The blueberry chipotle were great but I can't lie I do miss the cheer wine ribs those were my favorite. The collards are a must! I'm usually picky when it comes to greens but these were seasoned to perfection. However the mac and cheese lacked unfortunately. I wasn't too impressed with it personally. Between the Mac being runny and lacking flavor, I'd honestly suggest picking another side. Overall, great time and would drop back by whenever I'm in the area.

It's a smokehouse offering all the greats, brisket, pork, wings, sausage. All excellent, but it is also a brewery serving some very good beer. Large selection. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You have to order food at the counter but that doesn't detract from the vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Servers were very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Prices were reasonable for the amount of food you get. They have an assortment of sauce to suit any palate. The brisket, of course, was my favorite. If I am ever back in the Asheville area I will definitely make this a top stop.

Always try to make it to 12 bones when I'm in town. Their collards are my fav and I love so many of the meats on the menu. The blueberry chipotle ribs are an all time fav for me.

Decent BBQ spot near the airport. You can get all the classic bbq dishes and sides. The chopped brisket was ok - it was more like a sloppy Joe set up where the meat had been sitting in sauce rather than separately chopped brisket with sauce on top. The cheese grits and cornbread were the real highlights for me. The green beans had a strong taste to them maybe lots of garlic which slowly grew on me but was a lot at first. The plates are decent proportions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is huge so plenty of seating for large groups and space for kids.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The taproom is a nice bonus as well for beer lovers.

Must try when in town! This is the second time we' ve been and it was just as delicious as we remember. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When you first walk in there's a little store front area that has awesome merch and some of their sauces.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You order your food counter service style and there's a front and back spot to order from. We went with the smoked turkey sandwich and it is AMAZING! Idk what they do but the savory and sweet balance plus the texture from the slaw,, turkey, bacon and Brie is delicious. We also tried their ribs with the blackberry chipotle sauce and they are hands down some of the best ribs we've tried. Crispy outside layer but falls right off the bone. They also have a great selection of beer. We will be back asap!

First time to their new location and everything was fantastic! We tried the chopped brisket w/ sides of (damn good) corn pudding, baked beans, and cornbread. Also the pork sandwich w/ Mac n cheese. Everything including the sauces was tasty! Service was great and [[HIGHLIGHT]]it was nice to sit in the taproom and listen to live music which they do on Thursdays from 5:30-7:30pm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    6 Bones Blueberry Chipotle Ribs

Brown Sugar Ribs (5/5): Exactly the kind of ribs I love. Smoky, meaty, just a little sweet, and you have to work to fully clean off the bone. Good bark with a perfect dry rub that doesn't require any sauce at all. Top tier ribs! Blueberry Chipotle Ribs (5/5): Saucy ribs with a hint of blueberry and chipotle. Wished this was a little spicier. Great ribs, but the brown sugar ones are on another level. Jalapeno Cheese Grits (5/5): Love the texture of grits, but they're usually too flavorless. These are packed with flavor though! I only wish it was a little spicier. Smoked Wings (4/5): Not very smoky, but the rub had a nice sweetness to it. The chicken was also pretty juicy. Came with a chipotle mayo type dipping sauce that I thought was just ok. Smoked Potato Salad (4/5): Smoky and tangy with a lot of paprika flavor. Damn Good Corn Puddin' (4/5): Sweet corn pudding with a lot of juicy corn kernels. Smoked Turkey Sandwich (4/5): LOTS of turkey meat, tasty bacon, and perfect Texas toast. I wanted a more smokiness from this though. (To be fair I'm also just not a big fan of turkey in general). Corn Bread (2/5): Dry and not sweet enough. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Pulled pork plate and 3 ribs

12 bones was recommended to us by lots of folks so we figured we had to give it a try! We went mostly for the food but the beer was just as good! We ended up getting a plate of pulled pork, which came with two sides - we picked Mac & Cheese and Mashed Sweet Potatoes. We also got a little taste of the blueberry habanero ribs. The pulled pork was AMAZING! The ribs were AMAZING! Sides were great but the meat was the real prize winner for us! The homemade BBQ sauces were also amazing, we were huge fans of the jalapeño bbq sauce!

We both had beans on the side which had nice chunks of pork in there. Very tasty. It wasn't really crowded so we got in and out quickly. The decor of the place is upscale bbq, very comfy and clean. LEGIT SMOKEHOUSE !!!…read more About as mountainesque of a restaurant as you are going to find in the Smoky Mountains. Big gravel parking lot (do not spin out your tires). Two ways to enter - straight up stairs or multi level stairs, each depending on your knee strength - optional wheel chair accessible entrance at the front with a single handicap parking space. Upon entry, the scent of bbq smacked me right in the face. Greeted by two staff members and the bbq pit master. Not expecting a craft beer bar inside but it had a big brew selection on tap with cocktails and wine too. Ordered three full slab of bbq ribs with cole slaw and shoe string onions for $34.00, thought it was pricey until I saw the plate coming toward me by the server with two half slabs (see pic). The sheer girth and weight of the ribs were worthy of the price point. Bit into the first half slab and at the same time got a whiff of the sticky charred meat. Holy S*** it was fall off the bone moist with a nice smoky sauce, which brought an immeditate tear of joy to my left eye. I put some sweet sauce on my slab and onto my onions for added bliss. I have to commend them for the flavorful coleslaw with a light tang of vinegar. Lately, I have been getting bland coleslaw at restaurants but took a leap of faith here and was rewarded handsomely. The gender neutral ADA compliant bathroom was clean with a rustic theme. Dark wood walls with an oval mirror hovering above the wall mounted modern sink. Little gift shop at the entry door slinging Highlands Smokehouse items. Wonderful experience here and would recommend it highly to anyone that loves bbq in North Carolina.
