6:30 Reservations on a Friday night and we were escorted to a booth in the bar area. This worked out well for us as we wanted to visit, and so the live music was in the background and was enjoyed. Started with poutines which were described as fabulous, with special mention of the onions and gravy. Entrees included the stew, a burger, the orzo and one other. The burger and fries were very good, and the other diners enjoyed theirs as well. We were able to play a couple games of tabletop shuffleboard too after dinner which was a nice addition to the evening. A wonderful experience top to bottom! The food,the wait staff, the bar, the atmosphere, were all excellent. First of all, we arrived around 6:45 and were seated immediately. This is a town of microbrews and distilleries so I really didn't know what I wanted to have from the bar. I spoke to the bartender and she let me test a few of the local libations. I ended up getting a local wheat beer. For dinner, I had the tenderloin, the asiago-garlic potatoes, and the side Caesar. Not a big fan of dry aged meat so the steak was good for what it was, but I probably should've ordered something else. That said if you like dry aged beef that this might be for you. It was cooked to perfection! The potatoes were stunningly good! The side Caesar was very very good. My wife had a pastrami Reuben, which was awesome! Another member of our party had smoked meatloaf which was also amazing. Finally, another person had mac & cheese with shrimp which was absolutely delicious! Truly, a wonderful dining experience! I ordered again today, $19.00 for sandwich and fries. The meat was horrible, I don't know what changed but it was very poor quality. We had a lunch reservation for 3 people at 12:30 on a Monday. We were seated promptly and the server asked about drinks, but we requested a few minutes to look at the menu. This was our first mistake; we didn't see her again for nearly 30 minutes, even though only half the tables were occupied. Eventually, she returned, apologized profusely and took our drink and food orders. Since most of the other diners had been served and some had even finished and left, we were surprised to wait another 45-60 minutes for our food. So I know the name has "rye" in it and I should have known it was made with rye but these pretzel bites with Gouda sauce took me by surprise. They don't taste like the usual pretzel bites but the taste just worked. Hubby got a flight of beer and it was a pretty generous pour. We each got the Asheville burger with bacon avocado. The burgers are made with three kinds of meat, ground chuck, brisket and short rib. We ordered them medium and they came out well done. Aside from that small snafu, the burgers were very tasty. Be sure and ask where the restaurant is located. GPS will not tell you it's BEHIND THE Steinmart building. This is a restaurant/sports bar/outdoor eating venue/brewery/steakhouse. They appear to have an identity issue. We arrived early for our dinner reservation and chose to have a drink in the bar. We were surrounded by giant big screen TVs on the walls. They have an extensive series of craft offerings as well as national brands of beer, wine, and spirits. By that, I mean they make their own hard liquor as well as beer. I had a craft beer (x3) and was moderately pleased with it. They have a very extensive wine list as well as their other alcoholic products. That in itself can justify a return visit. Had a ruben sandwich with fries. They have many different kinds of steaks, as well as several vegan options. I chose a personal favorite, which was good, with the crispy fries. Next time, it's a steak for me. They have a Tomahawk Steak which has a HUGE rib bone. When people take it to go, they have to cut a hole in the takeout box so the bone can poke through. Maybe by next time, they will have zeroed in on what type of place they want to be. We arrived at Rye Knot at 6:30 on the Saturday before Valentine's Day in February. We made a reservation, but it wasn't necessary, as they were not at full capacity upon arrival. The ambience was clean and casual; A bit loud as it has an open floor plan, but quiet enough to carry on a conversation. We started with the pork belly and deviled eggs appetizer. The deviled eggs were delicious, but not as good as the deviled eggs at H&F burger use to offer. The egg whites were a little too firm for our liking. The pork belly however was superb; It was fried and seasoned to perfection and complimented the slaw with a cherry compote very well. I ordered the Cajun smoked mac & cheese for my entrée. The macaroni and cheese was very creamy and delicious. It reminded me of my meals growing up with my family, where my mom would cook fettuccine Alfredo with peas and sliced ham. So it was kind of a nostalgia meal for me. The shrimp was superb. I will say however, I feel like they went a bit overboard with the cayenne pepper. It would've been nice to get some sort of warning about how spicy the meal was, as I have an extreme sensitivity to spicy foods. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to eat most of the meal as I wasn't able to handle the spice. Which was a real bummer, because I really wanted to eat it. No worries, my husband was happy to eat it for me. Lol My husband ordered the pan seared duck breast. The duck was amazing. I took a bite and it was so juicy; Cooked to a perfect medium rare. The broccolini and confit potatoes were super tasty as well. The cherry compote was a nice complement to the fattiness of the duck breast. Our server was awesome. She checked in on us the perfect amount of time; not too overbearing, not too scarce. Overall, I would recommend this establishment if you have the money to spare. It is definitely on the higher end of price, but well worth it. We will definitely be back. Next time I know not to order anything spicy. Lol read more

This restaurant is located on the right side toward the back of a strip shopping center. You can't entirely rely on your GPS to find the location once you arrive at the shopping center entrance. The food is very good and the drinks are excellent. Our serve was most attentive and accommodating. Eating lunch without a reservation shouldn't be an issue. Eating at night on the weekends probably requires a reservation. This place is definitely worth trying. I think you will be pleased. read more
