Last Saturday my boyfriend, my best friend, and I all went to this place because we had a restaurant.com coupon. That may have been the reason we chose the place but we were pretty satisfied. We arrived around 6:45 and there wasn't a soul in the place. Yup, just about the entire time we three were the only people around. One couple came and went while we were there and another threesome sat for a quick drink and left. This worried us a little bit but as soon as the crusty (in the best way) seedy bread came out with whipped butter, we were just fine. I wanted four more pieces of that hearty bread. It was great. Probably the star of the entire night, for me at least, were the gravy fries. They were only $4 on happy hour special but damn, amazing, delish were they! Thick cut fries with pot roast, gravy, and cheese? Yes, please. I swear I would go back just for these alone. The entrees were alright, not stellar, but decent. I had the mahi mahi sandwich and it was a bit unweildy. The sucker was a triple decker the height/size of my iPhone. I cut it in fours at the recommendation of the server and managed to plow my way through it. It was tasty but, as my boyfriend said, the flavors all kind of melded. And not in a great way really... You couldn't taste the great pineapple and chili aoili... They were lost. Desserts (german chocolate cake and creme brulee) were solid. The cake was a huge thick slice with great icing and the cappucino creme brulee was a bit looser than I was used to but packed great flavor. Summary: Go for the gravy/cheese fries (happy hour is from 4:30-7p most nights!) and stay for the dessert... Maybe just skip the entrees... P.S. Service is slow but not ungrateful. We stayed after our meal for another two hours chatting and our water glasses never went empty. Nice touch. read more

This is the restaurant in my hotel. I didn't feel like walking anywhere as it was late so I came here. I sat at the bar and although the bartender was not here. She came back in like 20 secs. She took my drink order right away and made it in front of me. So maybe 30 secs. I ordered an appetizer of their chicken wings and then the Brunch Burger. The wings came out in 13 mins 55 secs. I got bourbon bbq sauce. They were excellent! The sauce was really good, and the wings were big. I'm used to Buffalo Wild Wings where they tend to be skimpy, probably because of how much they buy. These were huge, I had like 3 before I started filling up and had to stop so I could eat my dinner. They were REALLY good. As my main I got the brunch burger. It came out in 17 mins 14 secs. I wish the app had come out sooner than the burger, but it is what it is. I ordered the burger medium, it came out.... Best case it was medium well, very close to well. The burger came with no toppings but egg and bacon. They did not provide ketchup or mustard (no I did not ask as the bartender disappeared before I started eating. I give the burger a 5.2, now normally I like to try the burger by itself to see what kind of flavor the patty has without toppings. But the egg and bacon did not add a ton of flavor. So the patty was easily identified, so 5.2. Not much flavor or seasoning. Not bad, but not anything special. It tasted like a patty that was cooked medium well to medium. The bartender was great, I enjoyed bs-ing with her and her service. If I had just had the wings and drinks. I'd probably be 4.5-5 star range. The staff had to spend the night in the hotel due to the big snowstorm, and they were friendly and professional. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated quickly. The waiter was fast and friendly, and explained our breakfast options. We went with the buffet. Everything was fresh, well prepared and delicious. Connected to the Hilton. Place was mostly empty when I cam in around 6:30 pm. Host sat me at a four top, took my drink order and gave me a menu. I ordered the burger with an egg and bacon on it. I think it was called the brunch burger with fries. Food came out soon after and was very hot. You can tell it was just made, very good. Only complaint was there were no condiments added or offered, just a ketchup bottle that came with the fries. No one refilled my water, I just got up and went to the waitress stand and did it myself. Walked in to a very empty bar minutes before 10 pm Saturday night to grab a couple of drinks after the Bill Burr show at Butler University. Not a bartender behind the bar for roughly 10 min-12 min. One other patron was drinking at the bar and a couple of people were in the general bar area drinking. A party of six was sitting next to the bar so there was activity. It was as if the patrons served themselves without an establishment leader in sight. Walked across the hall. Walked in right as they were closing. For staying in a nice Hilton hotel and having McCormick's right across, 120th west bar and grill failed to make the grade of passing. It's like the student who attends class for two months before submitting assignments. For having over 1000 teams in the city, a full hotel of patrons and guests. They were significantly understaffed, which is disappointing. One bar tender during peak times, a pretty rough menu for food. The only positive side it stays an hour later than McCormick's. The breakfast, so... It wasn't too bad. Good variety to pick from, coffee is pretty basic with creamer. It's a buffet style with a variety of food. Pastry's didn't taste amazing, Bacon was actually good, fruit was good, and they have yogurt. Honestly, way overpriced for the quality of food. read more

The food here is actually quite excellent. They source a lot of their ingredients locally and it shows. The problem is you never can shake that feeling that you are, indeed, in a hotel restaurant. It lacks even the slightest bit of character. Other than the framed photographs from old Indy 500s, you feel like you could be in any city in the US. It was completely dead when we went there for dinner at 9 PM on a Saturday night. I get the feeling that's how it is every night. I had a promotion code for www.restaurant.com I had been meaning to use for a while. My husband and I planned an afternoon/evening out in Indy, so I thought this would be a good time to put it to use. We scoured the Indianapolis restaurant selection on restaurant.com's website and ended up selecting 120 West Market Fresh Grill based on their menu options. We found parking right across the street - the meter already had 40 minutes on it, so we added in another hour just to be safe. The dining room was fairly empty when we walked in around 5:30 or so on a Saturday. There were maybe three other groups of people or so. We found ourselves waiting for a minute or two before someone came to seat us. Finally our server came to bring us to our table and present us with menus. The decor was very tasteful and upscale. There was more silverware at the table than I knew what to do with and there were three different drinking glasses. We decided to go with the White Bean Dip as our appetizer. This was a cheesy dip with white truffle oil, served with slices of french baguette. It was very good. The server had also brought out fresh rolls, which I found to be rather salty. When we finished the french baguettte slices, we dipped in pieces of the roll and even spooned out the dip like a soup. It was enjoyable regardless of how we ate it. I ordered the Two Cheese Grilled Cheese with a side of french fries for my entree. This sandwich consisted of brie and blue cheese on brioche toast. While I like to think of myself as a cheese lover, I do not think that this was the best flavor combination for a grilled cheese. Both cheeses were far too strong, and the sandwich was not very enjoyable. 'Sandwich' is actually putting it lightly since there were literally THREE full-sized sandwiches presented. I ate roughly half of one. The fries were good but nowhere near spectacular. It also came with a side of apple chutney - not quite sure if there is a difference between that and applesauce but that is what it tasted like. My husband had a three-pack of the Black Bean Burger sliders. Basically, taking one bite of one of these caused most of the insides to slide out of the bun (is that why they're called sliders?). They were barely lukewarm and very crumbly. We wrapped up dinner with caramel cheesecake. Very cute presentation but nothing to write home about. This hotel's lunch buffet rocks. A little pricey, but the service was great, food was great. Soup, salad, sushi, entree items, pizza, desserts, etc - plenty of options. If you can't find something you like here, you've got bigger problems than where to go for lunch. I love trying all the different fancy desserts, I especially liked the cinnamon mousse with candied rose petal on top. Oh, and the tiramisu was fantastic too! I should note, a regular menu was also available for lunch if you didn't want to do the buffet. read more

Place has tons of room for everyone anytime. There are tv's there which is nice for kids and to relax. We sat next to the window and watched the snow fall. One thing.. the service is slow. The staff are sweet and wonderful but slow moving. Lack of communication between servers. Food is fast once ordered... but you have to make sure it's ordered. My son and I split the fish and chips. Oh... it was DELICIOUS! If we had room in our bellies we would have had a second helping. The french fries were fabulous and my husband and son's club sandwich was HUGE! If they can fix the waitstaff miscommunication, they would be awesome. We will go back for great food. Any place with the word "fresh" in it's name is a place I want to try. But, I also figure it might be a little too high priced. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the prices at 120 West were not higher. The atmosphere feels upscale and the food is delicious and healthy, so paying $15 once and a while for this experience is well worth it. The lunch buffet (from 11-2 during the week) is unbeatable! The choices seem endless, with freshly carved meats, tons of homemade salads, soups, and even desserts and a chocolate fountain. And my favorite part of the buffet is the pasta bar--made to order with as many fresh veggies as you want and your choice of sauces and meats. Yum! The flatbreads are also very good, and the staff is very classy and friendly. I'm dying to go back for the breakfast buffet some Sunday morning. They had your basic veggie options. The meat options were chicken and sausage. It was good (had two plates) but not spectacular, nothing fancy or over the top. The rest of the buffet included 3 soups (tomato, chicken tortilla, beef and bean chili, 3 salads, cold pastas and salad spreads, bread (bread was basic and not warm but that didn't stop me from having 3!) , quesadillas, zucchini & squash, beef carving station, fruit, deserts (cheesecake, chocolate mouse and others) and chocolate fondue. Enjoyed the organic yogurt option. The front desk informed us that continental breakfast was complimentary for Gold members. After having yogurt & one sausage link I was charged because "hot food" was an upgrade and not complimentary. Would have been nice if there were some explanation or signage before hand. $4 upgrade so no big deal but just kind of the fact of the matter. Also less than a great experience as staff members were yelling back and forth who was a Hilton Honors member and who wasn't at which tables. Back again! This place has the best fish & chips. They are consistently a big portion with just the right amount of crunchy batter. A huge amount of fries are served on the side and are easy to share. The tartar sauce is really good, too. It's fancier than your regular restaurant sauce- I think there's capers in it. I was in town for a personal trip and read a lot about this restaurant. I thought I would stop by for an early dinner. First off, granted it was early on a Wed or Thurs night, but it was EMPTY! I did get very good attention from the waiter, which was nice... he was polite, gave good advice when asked, and checked in on me a few times. However, for what I paid, food leaves something to be desired. I got their entree sized mesclun salad, which was a good portion... and paired it with a bowl of their crab & corn soup. When I saw this on their menu, I immediately imagined the dreamy, incredibly delicious blue crab corn chowder at Geoffrey's in Malibu, CA. I mean, Corn = corn chowder and description said lumps of crab right? Wrong. This one was basically sweet corn in uber sweet cream soup, which shreds of crab... thin shreds. I would not call that lumpy at all. Corn was lumpy alright but not crab. It actually had this consistency and texture that was in a way revolting... I didn't want to waste food so I asked for a to-go cup, filled it up with left over soup and headed back to my hotel. Later on in the evening I got a little hungry again and thought I'd give the soup another shot... again, kind of not appetizing. How could this be? I mean, I like crab, corn, and yes, cream too... but somehow this particular combination and flavoring just was not working for me. Next time I am in town, I might try here for the Buffet. And maybe simpler dishes like sandwiches or burgers but I don't think I will order that soup again. read more

Came for dinner - selection for entrees was small and over priced. Halibut was cooked perfectly but not exciting. I would not order it again because it is not memorable. I thought the pairings for the Salmon needed more than just sauce and potatoes. That fish selection may have had more flavor... They also have veg as sides like broccoli and asparagus (I try to avoid eating to many carbs). Broccoli is made with butter that gave it unimpressive flavor (better than just plain though - so thanks for trying). The service was lacking, small cups of water and no one to check to make sure they stayed full. We were the only people eating when we arrived and the room had one additional couple when we left. I might add I used a living social coupon and would still not come back. They need to find a niche other than boring. They have competition for anyone willing to eat outside the hotel. In closing, it wasn't terrible but I won't make a trip to come back unless it is for the breakfast noted from others... read more

The prices are high but the quality is great for a breakfast buffet. I'm at the Hilton once a year during GenCon and we always make sure to come down for breakfast at least once. They serve french press coffee (my personal preference for home brewing!). Even my wife's tea came in a small press. Oh and their chocolate malts are pretty good too. My wife and I stopped for dinner tonight and we are so glad we did. She had the fish and chips. It was a generous portion of fish, with great flavor and the right amount of crisp. I opted for the burger with the bourbon barbecue sauce. This was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Juicy, flavorful and cooked just the way I wanted it. Avoid the "pork shank" unless you like chewing on pieces of lard! Seriously, this is the absolute worst meal I have ever had. The service was awful even though we were the only table in the restaurant. The food was so bad that I wouldn't even feed it to my dog. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Happy Hour already started. Told my nice bartender Eric I'd like to try one plus the recipe. He started to make it immediately and it was like, nothing was out and ready. The price is also pretty reasonable with regard to the location and food provided. Ok, its a hotel restaurant. And the menu is limited. But they do a very good job with the menu they have. Fresh rolls were delivered to the table and they tasted like the ones my grandmother made. My wife ordered a margarita. It was a good one for a happy hour drink. My wife had the french onion soup which was thicker than others she had, with more onions. It was rich and its hard to beat that onion/broth/cheese combo. She ordered the bbq chicken entree. Chicken was free range. Mashed potatoes tasted homemade. The chicken was tender and the sauce was just right. My spinach gnocchi came with a fresh tomato sauce. The gnocchi were tender, not hard lumps. The sauce was fresh tasting like ones my wife had prepared at home with our late tomatoes. I also had a very good caeser salad. Good service to boot. read more

Staying at the Hilton and there are 2 restaurants. This and a pricey steak house. I didn't want 32 ozs of beef for $50, so I tried this place. It was empty at 7 pm and the hotel was full so that should have been a clue. I ordered burgundy beef tips. It was the special. The beef was tough. The sides were bland. I couldn't even finish the food. Reading the other reviews, I would stick to the buffets at lunch. I'll find another place to eat for the rest of my stay. read more

I came back down to go to the store and realized they had put up a sign for $1 flavored vodka cocktails. Since my fiancee and I were staying at the hotel we decided to check this special out. it did not disappoint. Not only did we go before dinner we came back after dinner. Some friends and I got back to the Hilton with plans to stop by the bar for another drink while staying in from the cold. We walked in with literally one minute until close because we didn't realize the bar closed at midnight. The bartender was getting ready to lock up, but ended up staying and fixing the 4 of us drinks when he would have been justified to apologize and refuse to help us. He had already put everything away, but got what he needed back out in order to make 4 completely different mixed drinks. He even had to go to the back twice to get out other needed ingredients. He clearly wanted to go home as planned but pushed it aside, never complaining, and continued to serve us our drinks. My guy and I went here for a dinner date, and it was just kind of odd. At 8:00 on a Saturday night, there were just 3 or 4 other diners there, which I found surprising. Maybe because the decor is outdated and the lights are too harsh? Our waiter was really nice, but pretty awkward.
