My daughter and I were picked up by the Parking Spot van at about 3p on Sunday February 7th and we…read morethink the driver's name was Zaky. The van was full and when the driver spoke, we could not hear him. He did one stop in premium parking then continued. When we entered the regular covered parking, one passenger spoke up and said they were also in premium parking. The driver stopped and then got snippy and said they should have given him their ticket. When they said they did, he looked in the trash can and found their ticket. He claimed he said their spot, but we did not hear him do so. In fact, other drivers usually stop at the spot, stand up and say clearly the number of the spot. This driver did not do so. After going around to the missed premium spot, my stop was the next one. Again, he did not stand up and say the number, but we knew it was ours. As my daughter and I only had backpacks, we did not need his help on leaving. But as my daughter was carefully stepping down to the ground level, the driver closed the door on her arm. No apology and she barely got out of the way before he drove off. I have been using The Parking Spot since its opening for both business and pleasure travel. This incident and the fact that it is extremely difficult to get to The Parking Spot now, will cause me to look elsewhere. An Email to management did not result in a satisfactory solution.

I've been utilizing the Parking Spot for almost a decade, and I'm just not sure I'm feeling it. The…read moreonly times I book it now are when the KCI airport garage is full, which unfortunately, is often. It doesn't seem to matter if I'm in covered parking or open surface, it tends to take a while to get a shuttle to come to where I am. On more than a few recent occasions, the clerk checking me in will tell me, say, Row 17, where I'll go to. Then the driver eventually arrives and asks what I'm doing in Row 17, that I'm in the wrong spot... so some apparent communication issues. Then when you get back, you may have to wait, and wait, and wait. If the airport is busy, it can feel a bit intense because everyone wants on the next shuttle. Then it takes a while after that to get back to your car, and drags out the whole travel experience. The last thing, there are some wonderful drivers here. However a few of them will really guilt you into tipping, and be visibly upset or even say something direct if you don't. Even if you're traveling super light, and traveling for work where it's hard to be reimbursed for cash tips. I'm not against tipping when they get my family's bags off the bus, but when it's just me already carrying my own, I don't see the need to add on to the already expensive parking adventure I'm on. I really wish the new KCI had a light rail connecting to the parking lots, or had built more parking than they did. It's a midsize city and midsize airport, there's no way it should almost always be full when I go to book.

There are shops like Hallmark, Crayola, Starbucks, convenience store, tea store, souvenir store, Halls (luxury store, mostly expensive goods), local KC good store and so many different restaurants. The hallway connects it to entertainment places like Hallmark visitor center, Kaleidoscope, Sealife and Lego Center. In the plaza they also had ice rink and Christmas decorations. There's indoor parking, street car stop and Union station (minutes away) for guests. Throughout the day, lots of tourists, including families with kids visit this center. The restaurants have varieties like bbq, pizza and sandwiches. Sheridan's frozen custard is a really popular ice cream store. It is also connected to Westin hotel via passageway. I did struggle a bit the signs and directions. There were not clear in some corners. Security personnel are available throughout the plaza, we took some direction help from them. But overall it's a prime spot in KC.

The parking system up to now has been easy to navigate and validate at any shop. The new "frictionless" parking system is an obnoxious data grab, irritating to set up (I do not want to make an account for every place I park), and impossible for people who choose not to have a smartphone on them at all times (me). :) I'm sure it cost a lot to implement, but every person I've talked to has also found it frustrating. Will be ice skating elsewhere from now on and choosing alternative parking from the crown center garages whenever possible.

Parking in the garage at my apartment (HERE Apartments in Lawrence Kansas) was a decent experience…read morefor the most part until I had to deal with my car getting damaged while in the hands of the valet attendants. A valet attendant backed my car into a concrete pillar, instead of owning up to the mistake he decided to leave it where it was and not tell anyone about the incident. Once i noticed it i brought it to the attention to a manager on duty. He took down my information and wrote up an incident report to go to the main manager of the garage. In this case, the manager's name was JD. Figured i would get a call within the next couple days from JD to discuss what had happened to my car. But no, two weeks went by and i had heard nothing. I had given my information to a couple valet attendants to give to JD because he was never on site to talk to. This did nothing because JD never called me. Of course i was upset because my car had been damaged and weeks had gone by and i hadn't even heard from the person that was supposed to be taking care of it. I then got JD's bosses name and number and contacted him about the incident. I got a response that said that JD was apparently "investigating" the accident and would contact me within a week. At this point it had been about six weeks. I waited for a call from JD and of course still had not heard a word from him. I even got two estimates of the damage but yet had not heard back. I then called the number back and was prompted to choose a name from the directory of employees, finally finding JD's number. Once i finally got a hold of him he informed me that he was denying my claim because "there is no proof that your car was damaged in our garage." i asked him if he had looked at the camera footage and he told me that he had asked the apartment manager for it but hadn't gotten a reply. But before that i had talked to the apartment manager and she said that JD had never asked her for the footage. So i had to ask her myself to send it to him because he was denying my claim. Finally about 7 weeks later my claim was finally accepted and i got a email from the claims department and finally after two months got the check to get my car fixed. Talk about the worst customer service from a so called "boss" ever. He never once called me and i had to threaten to take the matter to court before a resolution was ever reached. MOST of the valet attendants are good and you better hope a good one parks your car becuase dealing with a so called "head manager" or whatever you want to call JD is going to be the worst customer service you will ever recieve in your life.
