Nice quaint little restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Liked the wood accents inside. Huge wall sized chalk board with menu items on the back wall. The restaurant has that eclectic feel to it as does the staff (that is a positive). Waitresses were friendly. Menu looked good with breakfast and lunch being available. Note the times that the restaurant is open. Closed on Tuesday's Wednesday's and Thursday. Hours are from 8 am to 2 pm the other days. So don't make an unnecessary trip. Husband and wife who are the owners and also The lead cooks. Breakfast menu looked good, but wife and I decided to do lunch. I got the cod sandwich and she got the grilled cheese. Plates come with either slaw or pasta salad. Fries are extra and the chef does a little something different, he mixes regular French fries with sweet potato fries so you may get a few surprises if you are not used to that combination. Cod sandwich was not breaded which is a bit different for me. No tartar sauce with the sandwich but rather a remoulade sauce a bit more tart and tangy. Side was slaw which was tangy. Both the entrees were decent, but way more expensive for lunch than we would expect for a grilled cheese and a cod sandwich with a side of fries over $50.00. Everything about this place is horrible. Service is slow, unfriendly and completely inattentive. Zero refills of the bland, tasteless drip coffee unless flagged down - mind you it was slow, slow, slow so no excuse there. The food was even worse. French toast was soggy and undercooked inside, the pancakes are no joke Bisquick tasting (but somehow worse) dry af and bland. Literally couldn't eat more than 3/4 of one - absolutely disgusting worst pancakes I've ever tasted. If anything is wrong or you need anything don't hold your breath it will take 20 mins to flag down your waitress because zero other waitresses will help you instead they will sigh, roll their eyes and scurry away as fast as possible. The tables and chairs are rickety and not cleaned properly between patrons. We eat out a lot and love trying new breakfast places. This is NOT it. read more

This was my first time here, my friend and I drove 40 minutes to eat here because we thought the food pics looked delicious and wanted to try a new place since we love eating brunch. Anyway, I gave it 2 stars due to the service, the food was good, a bit on the pricey end but I know it's in a touristy area. Our service wasn't great, our server's name starts with a J, young girl who talked very fast and seemed condescending. I noticed she was super friendly and excited with the other customers because they're regulars. I felt like I was in high school and the clicky girls were the servers. with my friend and I she wasn't friendly and seemed irritated because we had questions on the menu. If it's our first time there we're obviously going to have questions. But it's all about her approach and attitude. She also didn't check on us often. The food was good but the service was odd. The waiter was very taken aback when my husband asked to add spinach and mushrooms to his omelet (they don't have a make your own option). He didn't quite know what to say. And I don't know if they were short staffed, but the waitstaff/host were all very stressed. I was stressed just overhearing them. Went to the Venice art show and decided to try a different breakfast lunch spot . Turned out it spoiled what was a terrific Art Show. They are located on West Venice Avenue one block up from the show. We were seated immediately which should have been a red flag with an Art Show being held. Our waitress acted like she didn't want to be there and never smiled. My wife ordered the Avocado Toast with an egg. There was hardly any Avocado and it wasn't very good . My Cinnamon banana French Toast wouldn't have been bad but it needed more syrup., they just give you a very, very small amount in a little container. When I finally got someone's attention, they told me there would be an up charge. You have to be kidding me with the very high prices they charge compared to other Breakfast lunch spots. I needed a water refill couldn't find our grumpy waitress. Final she came with the bill. Worse service and customer satisfaction that I have experienced in a long time. Plus the high prices. I was really surprised at how good the food is here! Based on the menu, it looked like any average breakfast/brunch/lunch spot in downtown Venice. However, don't be fooled! This place is delicious! The omelette I got was so fluffy and full of spinach and mushrooms- yum!!! It was very filling. Potatoes were a great side. I love the fresh fruit bowl and it also came with an extra piece of muffin. Delicious! Our waitress was very friendly- she bought out a dog water bowl for my puppy. Prices are reasonably priced and food is excellent. I would recommend this to anyone! read more

The wait-server that actually waited on us was condescending; the warm & friendly was poured on much too thick and the air of superiority that emanated when answering an ordinary menu-related question (e.g., "We can't order pancakes or waffles, did you say? Why's that?"), slap-inspiring. And p.s. to the above, the answer for the no waffles or pancakes was they "ran out of batter." Ambiance -- not my scene. Overly loud music (not sure WTH kind of music) was playing, but it was far too loud, regardless of one's hearing adequacy. A deaf man could have hummed along. Life is too short and food far too expensive these days to waste on the sub-par, much less the sub-sub-par. read more

I would NOT recommend eating at this restaurant. The prices of the menu listed online were $3.00 less per item than when I ordered in the restaurant. The food was extremely mediocre & bland. There was little to no seasoning on my egg and avocado. The toast tasted almost stale and our order of bacon was a tiny portion. We ordered a cup of tea and coffee, which cost us more than $3 each- outrageous! The waitress was wearing an inappropriate bikini top and only asked how our food was immediately after we received it, before we were able to try it. Our meal ended up costing $42.00 before the tip and it was only for my mother and I without any appetizers or special requests. This restaurant is close to the beach and is decorated cute inside, but it's an open layout so the chit chat is very loud inside. There is outside seating available though. read more

Five star for the delicious food and courtesy staff. It is definitely on the pricier side for a breakfast joint. The decor was unique and fun. There was one waitress for inside and outside. She did a great job, but we had to wait a little bit longer than normal for the check. She apologized and we aren't holding it against her. She was wonderful. We ordered a fruit cup for our two year old. Someone in the kitchen came out and asked what kind of fruit does she like. What a wonderful personal touch to the service!!! Finally a fun, inviting gem to relax and enjoy breakfast right on West Venice Avenue. The inside is a blend of warm woods and colorful artwork that adds character to the fun and attentive staff. The sunshine and friendly servers are really a wonderful way to start a new day. The coffee is strong, the food is fresh and the prices are extremely reasonable. If you are a creative soul, a closet hippie, a free spirit, lust for adventure, come grab a seat. I was smiling from the moment we stepped into this restaurant. These folks make you feel welcomed and good to be alive. Then they bring you fresh, well made food that leaves you repeating how "good this is" after each forkful. Now, I will agree the portions are not as huge as other places, so you will actually finish your dish. That in itself is really healthy and provides for a balanced meal. We shared the Floridian plate which consist of scrambled eggs, onion, bacon and sour cream with red roasted potatoes and either toast or an English muffin. And we had the Banana Cinnamon Nut French Toast. Both were plated with thin, triangle sliced pineapples, strawberry, and cantaloupe, which turned out to be perfect to cool you down on a very hot morning. Again, let me reiterate that the service was exceptional with cold iced water, extra napkins, and endless refills of that deliciously strong coffee. I would highly recommend this to anyone seeking something outside the Venice norm. This place is great food with young and lively service. I'm told that come June 6, 2019, they will be expanding with a dinner menu and dinner hours. Creative options and they are willing to work with your dietary needs. We has brunch here today and it was fantastic. The food and service was top notch. Upon Frank's recommendation, I got the eggs benedict. Patty got the banana cinnamon nut French toast. Frank said this would be the best eggs benedict or he would pay for it. I paid and he was right; it was delicious. The hollandaise was smooth and creamy. The french toast was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The banana nut was the perfect complement to the toast. And Frank is the man. He was such a great personality and made our meal even more fun. If you want a great brunch for a great price and get great service, you have to come here! read more

We have been going to Venice beach (Caspersen beach mostly) for about a year now and have always packed our brunch's until this morning. We had some family come in town and wanted to show them Caspersen be ah and find shark teeth and such. We were all hungry and on a quick yelp search I found this beautiful place. Upon the reviews I wanted to check it out. Once we parked we not only had one customer out front leaving say "this is the place to be!" But another customer who was sitting outside eating, stop eating, look at our family and say "you have made a great decision eating here!" With all the commotion and people telling us this is the place to be my expectations were high but I wouldn't say completely met... the food we all ordered it was great don't get me wrong! The service was perfect and on point 5/5 stars for the service. 4/5 stars for food. So... the omelette was a bit bland with a ton of cheese on it. Very filling but bland to say the least. It was something I learned to make when I was in college.. good but nothing extravagant. However my dads omelette was delicious. I won't speak on the French toast because I didn't try it but was told it was good too. If you're looking for a quick place to eat for breakfast or brunch this isn't a bad place to go. I guess everyone hyped this place up greatly and it came out to be not be THAT great. Al in all. 4/5 stars good people great atmosphere. Place to be I suppose. I liked it I get down to Venice from time to time and knew 124 took over the spot of the 3 Little Pigs. While I have wanted to try one of their burgers, at least I was finally able to stop in for breakfast. It was a good decision. They offer a daily $7 omelette, today was cheese, tomato, and onions, and I thought they did a fine job. The side of potatoes, while not large, was also done well. I liked the place and especially the staff. The place has a significant wood look, a carryover from the BBQ place. It might not look like your standard bright cheery breakfast place but then again, 124 is more than just a breakfast place. My server was very pleasant, an easy conversationalist, knowledgeable and helpful. Another person came by periodically to top off my coffee. I look forward to trying one of their burgers soon. read more
