My main complaint is that their customer service is consistently underwhelming. - Didn't tell us that they were literally jack hammering in the apartment above ours. - Jeff, one of the concierge, consistently has a hard time with deliveries. - The management team doesn't follow up with messages. Other than that, it's a nice location and nice building. It gets really busy during Red Sox games, which will add 5-10 minutes to your commute. Gym is terrible so we just put workout equipment in our apartment. read more

This place is great if you have a pet or need a lease shorter than 1 year. There aren't many places in Boston that offer both. 1330 offers month to month The concierge team is terrific. They are on top of deliveries and communicating. The building is NOT smoke free and they don't care to specifically tell you that. My apartment often smelled like weed and cigarettes because neighbors would smoke in their apartments. Often it would fill the whole hallway. Not acceptable. What was worse was the GM's response - "smoking is a private decision and we allow our residents to smoke in the units". I guess under the same ruling you can play music as loud as you want regardless if it effects your neighbors' quality of life. I know I'm not the only resident who complained about it because I frequently received emails from the GM about the smoking policy. For some reason it seemed like the fire alarms went off at least once week. All were false alarms. Location is great if you don't mind Red Sox traffic. You are right next to Reginas pizza and tasty burger so if you are on a diet don't live here . The food on the block is awesome. Do keep in mind that the underground parking garage is $300/month. The price of renting the units are high - they are newer which is nice but it's not cheap to live here. Floor to ceiling windows and granite counters. Finally they won't let you sublease and they won't even attempt to sell your contract for you so if you move out before your lease is up your stuck with paying the rent until the contract expires. read more

I loved living in the Fenway area for the year that I was there doing a fellowship. However, I had some issues with some of the management team at 1330. Specifically, Kathy Le. From the beginning she was rude and treated me in a not so professional or kind manner. I drove from Michigan to Boston with my dog and a UHAUL. When I arrived in Boston, I had movers ready to come move my stuff from the UHAUL to my apartment, not to mention I had a puppy with me and I was doing this all by myself. I had forgotten to sign up for renter's insurance, which takes less than ten minutes. Otherwise, everything was taken care of and paid for. Instead of letting me just go into my apartment, put my stuff down, and let the movers in, she made me stay in her office with my puppy and belongings until this was done. It would have been sorted out ASAP and the human thing to do would be to at least let me put my stuff down and go into my apartment and do it there. I had just driven over 12 hours and was exhausted. Throughout my stay, there were a few incidents similar to this that happened in which I felt management could be a little more understanding to the residents. There were periods of time when the hot water was not working. They did give all of us $50 gift certificates to a nice restaurant that was downstairs. However, this was also in the winter time of Boston, and I don't think a building of this caliber with the amount of rent you pay, should have these issues. I also had an incident with Kathy Le months after I moved out. I moved out and paid everything and months letter I get an email from Kathy saying that I owe money for floor damage. I looked over the paper work and there was no picture or anything that described the damage that was done. Since I had renter's insurance, I wanted to look into that and see if it would cover the damages; meaning I didn't just immediately pay the money for something I wasn't even sure that had occurred in my apartment. The next email I get from her was that if I did not pay this amount in a day or two that they would call a collections agency on me. This was a little over the top to me. It was not like I had ignored multiple emails. She had emailed me once prior, months after I had moved out. To start threatening me, was a little absurd, rude and unprofessional. I had always paid my rent, paid everything, was a good renter. I complained to the higher ups and said this behavior is not professional and that I had the right to look into these charges. She eventually apologized but the way she dealt with me throughout the entire year and even after I moved out was just horrible. I am a doctor not someone off the street that cannot pay their rent or wouldn't pay for damages. Another thing I disliked about this property was that there were so many rules that it felt like a college dorm. For example, you were only allowed to have two guests with you on the rooftop. This is ridiculous. I understand not having a party up there but to limit this to just two guests, is just too stringent of a rule. The high rise next door has no limitations of the amount of guests you can have. On a positive note, the front concierge staff was so nice, helpful and very professional. All of the front area guys there were just amazing. In addition, the location is hard to beat especially if you are working in the Longwood medical area. There are so many restaurants in that area and its very convenient. Overall, 1330 is a nice high rise but not worth the amount you pay in rent especially when management treats you like a criminal. There are other high rises in Fenway and more being built. If this building could work on a few things, it would be very ideal and a much more pleasant living experience. read more

Quick update- the move was completely smooth, thanks to the management office and concierge. They were also super helpful when all of our furniture was delivered. The appliances are super modern, which I'm not used to. I accidentally screwed up the cycle of my washing machine one saturday, so i reported the problem on the online resident website. A team was at my door an hour later to fix the problem. In the interim, I found out online that the washer and dryer retail for $1250 each, and the fridge retails for $1800. They really didn't skimp on the construction at this place, and I think it shows. It's super quiet and I don't hear a peep from my neighbors. Rooftop pool is a bit of a social scene, kinda fun. Lots of restaurants in the area. Overall, moving to 1330 was one of the smartest choices I've made in a while... read more

Listen the building is great, the apartments are clean and updated, but is it worth the price? That is a hard question to answer. Having moved here from a different city, the initial stick shock was crazy. I think this building had a lot of great features and if you are able to use them, then i think its worth the price of admission. The pool is a great feature, but i personally love the concierge. They are always pleasant and very helpful. Also this building does a great job with setting up free functions and activities for the tenants. I do appreciate that, but like i said, the price of admission is high. read more

My husband and I lived at 1330 boylston for 2 years, and we just moved out this week feeling very sad to leave! We really enjoyed our time here, we experienced top notch service and the friendliest concierge staff and maintenance staff. As stated in previous reviews, sometimes things broke in the apartment, but they were attended to same day, sometimes within the same hour of us reporting the problem. Our 1-bed was the biggest floor plan of any comparable unit we could find when we were looking, and has the biggest kitchen of any of the surrounding buildings we looked at. The bamboo floors were very flimsy, but I know they are replacing them with another material in the surrounding apartments so that may be on its way out. Also, the street noise is very loud in the lower floors so be prepared to invest in blackout curtains for your bedroom. The floor-to-ceiling windows give great views but they let in too much light, cold and noise for light sleepers. The building was very friendly to our pooch, we never had a package issue the whole time we lived here, and the rooftop deck with pool was a huge bonus during 90-degree weather! Also, the apartments are very well sound-insulated and we almost never heard any noise from other units. Be advised that it is a pet-friendly and smoke-friendly building, and while we never had any issue in our apartment with odors or noise, some tenants experienced problems. read more

This review is based on the sales/intake experience, not having actually lived here. We never got to the actual 'living here' phase since the property management was not able to get it together to show an apartment. We first tried to see an apartment as a walk-in on an unremarkable Saturday afternoon since we were in the neighborhood. We were told by the concierge that the leasing office was only being staffed by one person and she was presently showing an apartment. While the low staffing seemed odd for a Saturday, since we were just passing through, it wasn't really a problem. Hoping not to run into this problem again, we called the leasing office number available on the website to make an appointment. The representative was clearly not at the physical location, but still assured us that an appointment for noon later that day would be fine. When we arrived at the front desk about 10 minutes before our appointment, there was another couple there who *also* had a noon appointment. It was up to the concierge, who handled the situation well, to decide which of us would be allowed in to meet the sole leasing agent available. Needless to say, the other couple was selected. After about 45 minutes (during which time a false fire alarm went off in the building), we decided to leave. Although the concierge was apologetic, it wasn't his responsibility to keep the leasing agent's appointments. At no time in the hour we were sitting in the lobby was any attempt made to keep our business or provide even a brochure about the building. Apart from the pretty terrible customer service without even a 'so sorry about the confusion,' it raises concerns about how living at the building would be. If the corporate management company was staffing so thin that they literally couldn't spare a minute for a potential resident, we were justifiably worried about how other parts of the resident service experience would be after moving in. If not for the polite and personable, but ultimately powerless in this situation, concierge, this would have been a 1-star review. read more

First, let me state that this review is based on my time living at 1330 Boylston, not experiences visiting friends or my opinions on the Fenway area. Needless to say, a 2-star review shouldn't inspire confidence. Here's why: I've lived in properties managed by Samuels Realty for about 5 years---the majority of which was spent in 1330's older sister building just down the street---Triangle Trilogy. I LOVED living there---and so, when the time came that I needed to move into a larger apartment, I thought that living at 1330 would be a similar experience. Not at all. First of all, despite Fenway's having a relative glut of new, luxury-style housing, the prices at 1330 are exorbitant, compared to the surrounding area. Specific monthly prices depend on basically how far in advance you agree to rent a given unit, but even units that are "available NOW" go for way more than something of similar quality should. Just because it's no longer one of the new players on the block (pun sorta intended), don't expect a deal. Quality. For 2-4 thousand dollars per month, you should have certain expectations. Ok, it's Boston, size isn't going to be one of them----but at the very least you'd expect the actual construction and features of the apartments to be nice, right? Admittedly, I can't speak for EVERY unit, but having been in more than just my own, I felt that my previous apartment at Trilogy had better quality and better use of space. The hardwood floors were thin, cheap bamboo that scratched with even just sneakers, our refrigerator was installed incorrectly, and, well, don't get me started on the cabinets. Aside from just being awkwardly made (a 3-foot deep cabinet on the top shelf isn't a very good use of space, for example...think about it), I can't count the number of times we had to do repairs because THE DOORS CAME OFF IN OUR HANDS. The carpet is pretty standard grade, and the closets, although present, are fairly sparse in terms of usable shelving. Dishwasher, washer/dryer are both in unit (plus), but none of them did their jobs particularly well, or even on par with their counterparts at my cheaper apartment down the street (minus). Bathroom is large and nice. The atmosphere was okay. There IS a pool on the roof, which is actually pretty nice during the limited Boston summer. That being said, even then it gets a bit chilly when the wind is blowing (which is fairly often, given that it's on the 15th floor). There usually room, and it's well-kept. No alcohol allowed, plus limitations on number of guests. The building also bills itself as 'pet-friendly,' although I did not find this to really be the case. Many of my neighbors either filed numerous complaints about noise (our dog would bark when someone knocked on our door---which wasn't often), or were outright terrified of dogs. I mean, who lives in a building with pets if you can't share an ELEVATOR with a dog?? While I can't say enough good things about the concierge or the maintenance crew (both are WONDERFUL, available, and very attentive) that actual building management is somewhat....difficult. They're often hard to get in touch with, wanted access to our apartment on several occasions on short notice (as in, same-day, regardless of whether or not we were home and available), and generally not very polite. I mostly just avoided the 2nd floor (where the leasing office is), and handled my payments online. Long story short---check out Trilogy, the Viridian, or any of the other new constructions around Fenway if you're looking for true (albeit expensive) luxury living in the city. 1330 is mediocre with luxury prices. read more

My husband and I had made an appointment ahead of time to view a couple of the apartments at 1330 Boylston St. as we are moving to Boston for a couple of years for fellowships (two cardiologists). We were coming from Canada, had only one weekend to find a place to live and had an appointment with 'Ben' at 10 am. We showed up at 10. Waited for 1/2 hour only to be told that he was not available. We went onto our next appointment in a close-by building and said that we would be back after to see if he was available. Upon our return, the doorman (who felt bad for us) disappeared for about 10 mins to come back and tell us that he didn't have time to show us. I had read some bad and some good things about 1330 Boylston St and was willing to give it a chance. However, after this highly unprofessional behaviour from 'Ben'...I wouldn't even consider this place to live in. Very unprofessional.. read more

This property is amazing. Not only are you in the middle of Boston, steps from Fenway Park, multiple restaurants, a 24 hour grocery store and all types of public transportation, it is a superbly maintained building with the most congenial staff I have ever encountered. John provides a constant and extremely efficient presence at the front desk, and Mike and Nick in the office are so easy to deal with. Perfect for those working in the Longwood Medical area. I had to move out of the area for work, but I would not hesitate to live there again. Worth every penny! read more

The other reviews were from quite some time ago. For a property that does not allow undergrads, it's at over 70% undergrad in past year alone! Hallways smell like trash, and air freshener/perfume. Non stop parties & noise. All they care about is their short term rentals (which means the only working elevator is shut down every day cause of constant moves since they rent about by the hour, day, weekend, month). Only good thing I have to say about this place is the current concierges are fantastic & actually manage the building. They currently have no maintenance people & "in house management" has extraordinarily high turnover & defers to the concierges to do their job anyway. The upper management is even worse, defer to Trilogy reviews to read about who then got promoted above both buildings. Washer/dryers don't work, Fridge freezers don't work (forget about ice, ever), when you dare to put in a maintenance request, the issues are blamed on you, even though every tenant has the same issues. Then you get your rent is raised by $1,000/month. May have been ok when it opened but "management" has driven it down the tubes. I've already moved out but it's more cost effective to stay at the Four Seasons long term than 1330. read more
