I feel so lucky to have found Charlie! When we first moved into our new home, we knew that we would have to get the old steam heating system back up and running. The old boiler had been disconnected and hadn't been used in years. Charlie and his crew replaced our boiler and did an oil to gas conversion (including removing the old oil tank etc). Once we got the system fired up, he even made numerous house calls to help us troubleshoot/replace our old leaky and malfunctioning radiator valves. Charlie also identified that we were likely due for a local law 152 inspection. I looked into it and he was right - the previous homeowners had never done one so we needed to get it done asap. He performed the inspection, found a small gas leak, replaced what needed replacing, and made sure everything was in tip top shape for the DOB inspection. We have been very happy with the quality of work and have found Charlie's pricing to be fair. We definitely recommend!

Two guys came to my place, and were very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I explained I had 3 kids under the age of 5 and no heating, and we were coming into winter. They said to expect a quote soon, and gave me verbal estimates which I instantly approved and explained that I was anxious to move forward, almost irrespective of cost. After weeks had gone by and no quote, I followed up with them saying that I'd never received a quote, for which they apologized, and said they'd get me one. Now, several weeks have gone by and still nothing. If they were too busy, or didn't feel confident that they could do this job, they should have just said so. In any case, I was excited to work with who seemed like good guys, based closely -- on my very street. But ultimately they wasted a couple of months of my time. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because they were friendly and actually showed up the first time to at least look at my current heat pump.

Other companies wanted to layer in other services on top of the inspection (bait switch). I only wanted inspection and it was what I got for a reasonable fair pricing. the central air in my unks 4 family building went no no as the tenants called me one after the…read moreother saying the vents were blowing warm air and i quickly called w&l ac and in 2 hours they came to check it out . the unit is less then 20 years old and i assumed the worst case scenario but the tech guy was honest and told me a few parts in the unit were no longer working and gave me a estimate for repair cost which was fair and much better then putting in a new unit . the tenants had to go without ac for 2 days as tech guy had to order the parts but thankfully the weather was warm but low humidity. the parts have arrived , the tech has arrived and 3 hours later the tenants are happy and cool and my uncle is happy a new pricey unit was not needed . would recommended this company in a snap , 4.5 stars on my yelp meter.
