After 2 other service companies said the unit was shot and needed replacement I called David. Mind you these other 2 companies filled unit with Freon and left. A week later. Not working again. David tested the whole system for leaks. He found none. He cleaned everything in the unit. He also replaced a part. He went up to the attic and checked all connections etc. He placed a vacuum unit on the system for hours. Still no leak. He then recharged the system. Been working fine for over a month now. Not sure why anyone would write David a negative review. Sometimes people expect miracles with equipment that has breathed its last breath. In my case David responded quickly, explained what he charged to diagnose the issue and said that if repairs were performed that the diagnosis charge would be subtracted from the repair. He told me when he'd arrive and actually showed up on time. Diagnosis was made quickly and repair even quicker. We are extremely pleased and thankful to David for showing up so quickly. Over the past few years, David has been my go-to HVAC guy. He has done everything from replacing 2 zones of central AC (compressors and air handlers), to servicing my existing boiler and pumps, ultimately replacing it altogether. The pricing has been very fair especially compared with the big Long Island HVAC companies, he provides options and explains them, he knows a great deal about the product manufacturers, and he has helped me out in emergency situations. Note that he does have constant work so may not be immediately responsive, but I think it is acceptable since he gets back to you directly- not a salesperson or a secretary. I employed David to replace my Water Heater. He assured me he could handle the job, but it turned out to be a near deadly mistake. He purchased a tank that was larger than the one I was previously using. He did not measure anything before purchasing the tank, and as a result, the factory draft diverter on top of the water heater did not provide enough room to properly pitch, so he simply did not install the factory draft diverter and instead, he crafted his own makeshift diverter. He did not consult with me during this process; he simply decided to do this on his own without even checking to see if this was something I wanted to do. A few days after installation, I noticed a weird smell that would come from the water heater room everytime we showered or used the dishwasher. It smelled like smoke, so I called David. He said it was probably a dirty chimney causing the smell. I called a chimney company to come inspect and they said my chimney was perfect clean and wasn't dirty at all. David kept saying the diverter he made was perfectly fine, but when I consulted with 3 separate plumbers -- one of whom is a certified Master Plumber -- they each said that the makeshift diverter he used was not a proper solution for a water heater, and that Carbon Monoxide was most certainly leaking into our home and that it was an extremely dangerous and careless installation by David. I called David to ask that he come back to fix the problem but he did everything he could to deny responsibility. He said that it would still pass inspection, and that everything was fine. Again, 3 separate plumbers all disagreed and they told me that this was extremely dangerous, so I had to turn off the Gas and let all the air out of my house for an entire day, and I kept my kids out of the house for an entire day to ensure their safety. I tried calling and texting David repeatedly but he just stopped responding. I had to call in a new plumber to come and fix the problem, causing me to spend an additional $2,000 on top of what I already paid David. David was careless (did not come ahead to measure to ensure the new heater would fit), he was lazy (when he realized the new tank wouldn't fit, he could have returned the tank for one that would fit but did not to so), he was not communicative (he did not tell me about his plans to make his own draft diverter), and he was reckless. I gave him so many opportunities to come back and fix the problem or at least provide a refund, but he simply did not respond at all. Please do not use David for any of your HVAC tasks. Someone who is willing to endanger the lives of an entire family is not someone I would employ. read more

We were desperate and DWP HVAC saved us one freezing February day. We came on time on a Saturday and quickly got our heater working. He was a good deal for sure and value for the price. We needed them again when a little later this winter our hot water heater broke. He fixed this ordered parts and came back to service the heater. We have been good to go. My Central Air stopped working last October. Earlier, in the spring of 2024 it went out and I called Universe. They got it working but working with them was horrible. So, this time I needed to find a company with integrity and the expertise to fix the system. After seeing great reviews for DWP HVAC I contacted them. David (the owner) came on the day and time we had scheduled. Even though my Lenox unit is 22 years old, Dave was able to repair the problem. But unlike Universe, Dave was extremely thorough. After getting the system to work again, he checked the refrigerant which was a bit low, added new refrigerant, used a special solution to clean the unit, rechecked the coolent level, went to the attic to check the overflow pan and the condensation drain. He then used pressurized nitrogen to blow out the condensation drain. And after all that he asked for a gallon of water so he could ensure that the drain was clear. Finally, he had me check the vents to ensure that the unit was providing cool air. The experience was extremely impressive. This was so so different from my horrible experience with Universe. And all for a very fair price. What a pleasure. I highly recommend DWP-HAVC if you have an issue with your HVAC. read more

I requested a quote from yelp to get a 9 year old HVAC condenser replaced. David answered my request and came to take a look first to see if I needed to replace the unit. Upon inspection it was determined that I did need a new unit. He was patient and honest about his assessments. I called David on a Saturday at 3pm after a well know Long Island plumber cancelled on me last minute. The company I used last year to fix my boiler treated me like they were doing me a favor. I had a problem last year that was misdiagnosed and I was hit with a $ 700 bill that didn't even resolve my issue. David called me back within a half hour. He said he would try to come by but he had other jobs he was already doing. He texted me that night to apologize and to say he'd come Sunday. He came on Sunday and knew immediately what was wrong. He explained ahead of time what he was going to do and invited me to ask any questions if I wanted to. He repaired and replaced everything he said he would and even tried to save me money by not replacing the parts that he was able to use. He stayed 3 hours and got the heat running perfectly, made sure that there was heat to every room and followed up the next day to make sure all was well. His pricing was very reasonable. I consider him honest and reliable and would recommend him to anyone I know. Get away from these big name companies whose technicians don't care about you. Our AC unit started blowing hot air all of sudden. We called David late at night but he still came out within two hours. He figured out pretty quickly what the issue was. My house uses hot water boiler heating system with zone valves. David came in within 4 hours after my call. He came in and knew right away that air bubbles stops the water flow and needs to be purged (removing air from the boiler and the heating system, so that water can run freely.) He also helped fix my hot water boiler heating system with 3-zone valves. My 3-zone valves were a big mess, since it was connected in a way that only operate as single zone. I asked other technicians to fix it before, but they simply avoid doing so. It does take time, knowledge, and patience. Getting the 3-zone valves fix definitely saves energy (and saves a lot of money), since now I can adjust the temperature differently in each zone of the house. I agreed with other reviewers that David knows his stuff, and will definitely call him for services in the future. read more
