We made a dinner reservation for an inside table weeks in advance for NYE 2024 and had the worst experience with customer service. We arrived 5 min before our reservation, stood waiting for our table for an hour, and had to endure a smart remark from the hostess at the front desk when we asked about the wait for our table. We were finally offered a table outside. Our waiter was very cordial, thankfully, and the food came out quickly. However, the food was salty and when we asked to have our leftovers boxed to take home, we were told that no take out trays were available. We spent $200 for a horrible experience overall. We've visited this restaurant many times, took friends and family and had a wonderful experience, but the customer service during this visit was unacceptable! read more

This review is based on an online order. Placed my order on a Sat night, knew they would be super busy. The total of the meal was roughly $250 bucks. Placed my order around 6:15 and immediately got a text confirming my order and told me it should be ready around 7:06 estimated, that wasn't the issue, the issue was I never was told when my order was ready. So at 7:15 I walk over there to see if it's ready and it was. Got back to the room and everything was cold, pork chops, steaks, etc. so that told me the meals had been sitting on the bar where it was when I picked them up for God only knows how long. Why didn't I get a text when my food was ready and possibly hot?? It was not good at all, I went here simply because of the reviews and I am so disappointed. The onion soup was tasteless and they put it in a small aluminum tin and of course it leaked all in the bag. The fish dip was very salty, the bread was under cooked. The pork chops was super sweet. The salad was very wilted. The tiramisu as you can see in the picture looked like a pile of crap. The list just goes on, unfortunately we tossed a good chunk of the food away and wasted money, because it was just that bad. I don't understand the good reviews, because it was horrible. I don't recommend this place, there are plenty of places in the area with much better food and a lot cheaper prices. Save yourself the trip. But at the end of the day to each their own. read more

I'm not sure how this place has a 4.5 rating. We were seated on the roof outside with swarms of gnats to the point that we had to cover our drinks (maybe some well placed fans rather than spraying poison around the tables and food where people are dining?). Though you can't control Mother Nature you could make up for it with excellent food. The Naan appetizer was cold, pork belly undercooked. The specialty cut, a 16 oz "hand-cut" Ribeye was ordered medium rare. It was so raw I wouldn't even feed it to my dogs. The mushroom medly was like pouring salt down your throats. I would have sent the steak and mushrooms back but at that point I had been bitten at least 50 times and just wanted out of there. In the 132 days we have been traveling, at least 70% of which we have eaten out, this was by far the worst meal we have had. The term "aggressively mediocre" is too good for this place. read more

1509 is officially THE best restaurant in the 31520 (and ranks highly in the 31522 and 31561). An incredible team of locally-renowned managers has assembled the BEST TRAINED SERVICE STAFF in town. The food is to-die-for fresh and tasty. The BEST bacon I've ever eaten. (Went for brunch.) The rooftop ambiance is delightful (not sure about dining alfresco once the temp hits 90+) -- I didn't want to LEAVE. This is my new favorite joint in the Golden Isles of Coastal Georgia! read more

Good things first: the location is great. easy to find, park, decor is beautiful inside and out, rooftop views are cool. The service is decent. A little slow but perhaps that is by design so that you stay and continue to order. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. The food is ok. Portions are on the small side. For example, the $12 Caesar salad was a small side salad, not entree sized. Seafood was hit and miss. Others at the table reported their steaks were very good. Lastly, the night we were there we had a reservation for 8. We were seated on the outside patio which was lovely but directly next to the live saxophonist. He was very talented but we essentially ate our meal in silence since it was so loud. Not sure why you would seat a party that large near the music but we didn't have other options when we arrived. We couldn't really celebrate the 55th anniversary guests of honor because we could only speak to the person immediately next to us. Might be great for a date night since a couple would have to lean in to hear each other but harder on a large group. Unfortunately It overshadowed the entire experience. Came in for my wife's birthday... first time ever there. Waited about 5 minutes after sitting down to get water or acknowledgment. Got drinks and ordered appetizers. Received those, ordered dinner. My wife doesn't eat pork, so she ordered something on the menu that didn't say it had bacon or pork in it... she got the shrimp and grits and there was pork sausage in it. She asked the waitress and the food runner what kind of meat it was and neither of them had any idea. The chef had to tell them what kind of meat it was. After they realized it was pork the waitress asked my wife if she was allergic to it... she doesn't eat pork, and why she doesn't isn't really any of her business. Anyways... she allowed her to order something else and she ordered the Filet. Meanwhile, her friend and I pretty much finished our meals. We ordered a second drink and finished our meals before the second drink came. Must also say to get another glass of wine for my wife we had to go to the bar and ask - not the waitstaff My wife's filet came out 3/4s well done after she ordered it medium. By the way, you pay for your sides on top of your meal. Service was not worth the money we paid for the meals we got that were right, for the price point this restaurant charges I feel like the service should be 5 star but this was very far from it. Nov 30 2024 A few of my friends met here last night. Some had never been so I suggested this establishment. I was completely disappointed in how poorly we were treated. We were ignored by the two waitresses that waited on only two tables around us. It was NOT busy however the chef took the time to come out ask that one of the young men put his cigar out. So clearly we were seen but still no server. I asked him if could take our order he said no. He also said that he would awns someone this would have been the 3rd person we asked . He tried to intimidate but was no help at all , the customer service on the patio is horrible. I can't imagine the nice owner that I met would allow his employees to treat paying customers in such a way. I myself have had several business meetings as well as committee meetings at this establishment. I am completely disappointed I'm the behavior I experienced from this establishment read more

Nice spot. Beautiful bar. However, service was embarrassingly bad. Bald bartender with the goatee was super condescending and disrespectful. We had a group come in close to closing time and he was extremely confrontational to the point we thought he wanted to fight us. We get it, you want to go home. You don't have to be a dick. Don't work in the industry if you can't be a halfway decent person. We'll spend our money elsewhere. read more

We did arrive without reservations, on a rainy Friday night. They did accommodate us, but only outside on their terrace. This would have been fine, except it wasn't rainproof. After several table moves we found a fairly dry table. I wouldn't have minded, but it stayed empty inside until right before we left and there were still tables available. The food and service were fine, especially the filet steak my husband had. 50$ without anything. But it was a very good steak and the mashed potato side was also really good. My dinner of shrimp pasta was just ok. The s'mores brûlée was excellent. I would go again as they were very nice and tried to work things out, but it's a bit overpriced. read more

Definitely one of the best meals out I have had in a long time. I am a Local Chef and my Friend Chris Lagrone is the Chef there. Impeccable presentations and food quality. Smoked Fish Dip is served WARM, never had it like that before, fabulous. Grilled Scallop Risotto small plate, perfection. My Golden Tilefish Entree was the perfect size, presented beautifully and delicious. Can't wait to come back again and enjoy the Rooftop ambience and upper deck for cocktails. Great ambiance, good food, poor service. Needs to work out some wrinkles. Dining deck is handsome. Fish of the day well prepared. Drink service was poor. My wife was delivered a steak but no knife. We started with the yeast rolls from Schroeder's Market, and they were some of the best rolls I have ever eaten! Loved the butter too! We followed with the fish dip and that was out of this world! Great ambience in an older building that was very well planned in the re-model. It was a bit difficult to locate with our GPS listing it on the South side of the approach street when it was actually on the North side. The filet mignon was prepared exactly as ordered and was tender and of a superior cut. The bourgeoisie sauce was a bit limited in volume but offered a delectable good taste. The mashed potatoes were good, but a little on the soft side. Bread was offered at an additional charge and it was very worthwhile. The wine and cocktail list was more than adequate. Prices were reasonable for the quality. The noise level was not relaxing but the restaurant was filled with patrons. We attended for a birthday reservation, but it was not recognized in any manner. Dessert selection is very limited. Service was excellent. We look forward to a "second chance". read more

What an amazing place! First time there. My daughter in law suggested this place. She lives in Brunswick and my husband and I came from our grandson's birthday. He turns 14!! Great new rooftop location. Service was extremely slow and took forever to get our drinks. Waitress kept blaming the bartenders for being slow, but never offered to make it right. Food came out fast but everything was overpriced for what you received. You also shouldn't have to pay for bread service at a restaurant that wants to hold itself out as high end. Appetizer menu needs to be revamped as nothing on the menu served as a true appetizer. Especially if you are going here only for drinks and to be on the rooftop. Great location and concept, but need to make some changes quick or you won't have repeat customers. read more
