After searching for days for great food in the St Simons area, my wife and I came across Woodside. Quaintly squeezed into the end of a shopping center, as soon as you step inside you are warmly welcomed into a eurocentric gourmet dining room. The service is fast, friendly, and efficient, but not at all rushed. The owner is friendly and passionate about his food, and it shines through in the plating, flavors, and execution. Bar service is high quality and caring. The wine by the glass menu may be a bit limited, but not so much that it will affect your experience. We started with the grilled peach and sunchokes. The peaches were delicious and perfectly balanced in flavor. The sunchokes were fried up las the ideal salty potato chip like compliment to the dish. The stracciatella brought it all together. The bowl was abundant in size. We also shared the cavatelli appetizer, which was light, fluffy, flavorful, and a bit like comfort food. For our main course we shared the Wagyu zabuton and the large bone in veal chop. In hindsight we wished we had order the eibeye over the zabuton, but the meats were both cooked just right. My wife and I weren't huge fans of the meats sitting in the somewhat heavy bernaise emulsion. We would have preferred to be able to cut and taste the meat flavor separate from the sauce. Dessert may have been the highlight of our meal - a chocolate creme caramel. It was indulgent yet not heavy. It was flavorful and all of the bountiful flavors came together wonderfully. I think the caramel was the key to bringing it all together. Lastly, plan to bring your extrovert personality with you and get to know your table neighbors. It is a small dining room designed to get acquainted with those around you. Enjoy, I know you will!

I was in Brunswick for seven months and somehow didn't find out about this place until right before I was going to leave. That's probably for the best from a financial perspective, because, holy cow, this was an experience. Definitely some of the finest dining to be found in the SSI area. Reservations definitely recommended--the place was absolutely packed on a Saturday by 7:30 PM. Buddy, our server, was exceptional. The food? Incredible. Drinks? Stellar. The ambiance? Perfect. This is a great date night spot. 10/10, would go here again in a heartbeat.

This is absolutely one of the best meals I've ever had. Eating and drinking from people who are passionate about what they do is different. But also I believe you can see when people are good by their staff and this team was the absolute best. Everyone works well together and truly loves the place which made me love it more.

Hands down the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had, full stop. Absolutely perfect and the Hollandaise was a master class in mother sauces. Honestly, it's going to be hard to eat Eggs Benedict's any place else. Couldn't recommend Woodside more highly!

Man oh man I can't say enough great things about Woodside on Saint Simon's Island. Another incredible restaurant that has been awarded the extremely coveted 3 licks award. Our night started off with our waitress Nelly from Scotland "who grew up on a boat" seated us at the most comfy horseshoe sofa booth. The exact one my wife asked for when she made the reservation. Soon after that 4 buns arrived at our table. Not just your average buns, but the most puffy, buttery, and flaky, croissant like buns ever baked. Our table enjoyed the Lagoon oysters and even passed a bowl of the leak and potato soup around for all to try. Wow. And I can't forget the button sized raviolis filled with homemade ricotta and the rare morel mushroom. Our entrees were also some of the best we've ever had in GA, especially the Porchetta from Grassroots farm out of Woodbine, sourced by Brandon the Grassman who is a legendary farmer in the area. All this was enjoyed with a couple bottles of some fine Nebbiolo. We finished the evening of with all 3 desserts, but the standout was definitely the CHOCOLATE CRÈME CARAMEL: FENNEL SHORTBREAD, CHANTILLY CREAM, ESPRESSO GRANITA. We knew the 3 licks award was a lock after the bread, but the desserts and tawny port at the end sealed the deal!! Make a reservation today. And ask for more bread!!!

The staff and the service they provide are outstanding. They are extremely knowledgeable about the menu. I love that the menu is small. The owners come to every table to say hello and introduce themselves. The food is phenomenal. Todd, my husband, who is a Chef got the ribeye, and it was like eating butter cooked perfectly. I got the Nduja Anolini with Alepo chili Pomodoro and Rock shrimp, and brioche crumb.

Allison is a fabulous server!! The Angnolotti Primavera with spring vegetables was DELICIOUS... I was not very hungry so this was a 'great smaller portion meal.' Hubby had 10oz TriTip of Beemans Ranch Wagyu Beef which was served with a mashed confit potato. Cocktails are fantastic Greg had 2 old fashions & I had a Tito's tonic w/ lime. ‍ OVERALL DELICIOUS

The best new restaurant on the island. We had plans to go somewhere else and discovered this place has been amazing and under the radar. We didn't have reservations but got there around 8 and got seating at the bar immediately. The food, cocktails and menu are unbelievably. Our bartender explained the menu and drinks perfectly. We both had a cocktail and then red wine with our tritip steak that was cook to perfection. Chef came out to check on us. We highly recommend this restaurant. From the food to service to ambiance it was perfect.

Amazing! Everything was prepared PERFECTLY! We travel frequently and love good food. This is hands down one of the best meals we have had and we have eaten at several Michelin star restaurants. The ambience, the food, drinks, the personalized service, the chefs have not overlooked a single detail with this restaurant.

Next up, the waitress was super nice and attentive. We ordered the deep fried devil eggs...so yummy. The mule drink was mixed well. The burger, fries, cup of stew was also prepared very well. Pricing was good. Will stop back here again.

Stellar cocktails, friendly service, great views, modern design aesthetic, and incredible food. My only gripe is that they do not take reservations, though even on a Friday night, I've been able to get seated within 20-30 minutes, and you can always grab a drink from the bar and hang out on the lawn while you wait. This most recent visit, I started with the seafood chowder, one of my favorite soups on the island. Creamy, hearty, with plenty of fish, shrimp, crab, and potatoes. Shared a crabcake with my girlfriend--another solid choice, with plenty of crab, not too heavy on the filling, and with a lovely remoulade. For mains, we both had the grilled redfish, a baked potato for me, and mixed veggies for her. Perfectly cooked pieces of fish with a nice crust on the outside while still being moist and tender. Dessert this time was the chocolate pie, which was quite nice, not being too heavy nor excessively sweet. Did I mention the cocktails? I'm a big fan of the smokey mango Fiddlerita (a mezcal take on the classic marg), and the saladito a close second (again, mezcal, but with a little honey and cayenne). The girlfriend enjoys the basil smash (hold the simple syrup, please). Previously, we've tried the artichoke dip, which is also fantastic, shrimp and grits (solid, but Reid's does it better), blackened tripletail over creamy leek sauce (a special, and special indeed), and the key lime pie (excellent). You really can't go wrong here.

What a pleasant surprise, and certainly not what I expected…read more As someone who doesn't want to eat at restaurants much these days, this experience was a bit of a game changer and reminded me of how a restaurant can offer something special. First the server: Devon was great. Attentive, in control of the group table, attentive throughout the evening and just made everything better. Even special requests were handled well, with a smile and getting them right. The menu is eclectic and interesting. From farro island salmon to elk to the (huge) duck breast I had for dinner. While Sandra had the elk chops that may have been a bit over done, when you consider you have to serve a large number of folks their individual choices at the same time I can cut some slack on that one. All in all, a winner in a beach town where quite honestly I didn't expect a restaurant of this quality, breadth and service. Well worth a visit!

This is where you splurge!…read more Elegant dining rooms, variety of seating for intimacy or parties, exceptional menu. I had the seafood pot pie, an excellent choice in St. Simons, which is surrounded by water. And the pie was delicious. If the service had been a little better, I would have given this restaurant a five. But, they were short-staffed and training additional servers. And they forgot to place our friend's entree order, or they gave it to someone else. She loved her crab salad appetizer , but had to do with a bite from our entrees. But, don't forego this restaurant because they had one bad night. Food is delicious!
