We stayed at 16 Bay View in August and it rained during our stay (which we were totally ok with coming from hot TX). There are complimentary umbrellas to use which was convenient. Even though we had a short 1 night stay, we enjoyed the facilities. We were able to message the front desk prior to arrival to confirm that we could check in early. The parking is a little tough as it is shared parking lot with a brewery and restaurant. Our room overlooked the marina and it would have been great to sit outside with a cup of coffee in the morning! There is a little closet that hods the Keurig machine, microwave, mini fridge, and ice bucket. The room was spacious and had just enough room for 2 people. The bathroom was well stocked with towels and even had an option to warm the floors. The bathtub is huge! I liked the many options in the shower for the water direction (waterfall, front, or handheld). I liked that the waterfall option was angled as well as the front - aims toward the chest, not the eyes! The hotel is conveniently located in town - you can walk to many restaurants as well as the very cute library in town. We actually walked to Rockport for dinner but please note it is rather difficult to get ride share services (Uber/Lyft) so we had to call a local taxi company. I would definitely stay here again during our next trip to Camden!

Overall this property is a good stay. It is not without its issues much out of their control such as parking and noise. The location is outstanding. The rooms are comfortable. The views are nice. The Vintage Bar is nice, but needed more staff. The breakfast is above average with REAL scrambled eggs, but the potatoes were ice cold.

    Beautiful views.

Beautiful views, cozy seating, and delicious food and drinks. Highly recommended. Staff was also excellent.

A flawless stay. Parking is cheap and close, check in was comfortable and fast, the room was comfortable, big, clean and cozy. I loooved the room, bed and fireplace. You get complimentary sparkling wine at check in. Small plates and desserts are available and delicious. I will be staying here again!

Best view in Camden for apps and drinks! We had a bite here and loved the rooftop vibe, friendly staff, and yummy food.

Excellent location for the Camden area. We walked everywhere in town and didn't have to worry about parking since we paid $15 for hotel parking in the back. Due to COVID some of the regular amenities were different and I think if things were normal it would have been better service but I understand. We had a difficult time getting bath towels and our shower would overflow but I think if hotel staff would regularly come into the room, it would have been fixed. The view had peaking views of the water and it was nice having a balcony. Breakfast was nice with the chefs special and was easy to pick up in the morning. The room had a gas fireplace which was great because it was so cold!

Great decor, location right in the center of things, and a rooftop bar. Emily greeted us warmly, and was a delight. She got us settled and up to the bar. The view is great, especially on a foggy night with the glow of the Edison bulbs. A fire pit and heaters kept it toasty and comfortable. The drink menu has a drink for every taste. Smoky bourbon and lavender gin cocktails were our choices, and both did not disappoint. Staff in the bar were engaging and attentive, a pleasure to talk to.

Parking in the rear of the hotel.

I know that five star reviews are boring so I'll make this quick and to the point. Simply elegant. Warm and inviting. I really like this place. The only complaints that I saw posted were of the rooftop bar. Big whoop, someone didn't get their drink right. Hardly a reason to diss the whole hotel. We had a great stay and will come again!

They welcomed us to the Inn, gave us a tour and some fresh baked cookies. When we came downstairs in the morning Lauren had set out coffee and fresh baked crumpets. For breakfast she served overnight oats with chia seeds and blueberry compote followed by a tomato artichoke frittata and salad. Everything was excellent! Since we are avid hikers Greg recommended the Mount Battie trail which is within walking distance from the hotel. As we were heading off for our hike, Lauren provided us with more fresh baked cookies still warm from the oven. Greg and Lauren made us feel right at home as did their son Elliott. Elliott has a true entrepreneurial spirit and is very knowledgeable about the Inn and the area despite his young age. It was a pleasure staying here.

My wife and I stayed here four nights recently and used this location to not only spend time in Camden, but to visit other nearby towns like Rockland, Bath, Brunswick, Rockport, and Belfast. Don't forget to visit the Cellar Door Winery in neighboring Lincolnville. Everything worked in our Snug Harbor Suite to perfection. Housekeeping did a great job each morning cleaning and replacing whatever was needed. The innkeepers, Matt and Michelle are warm and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. From the moment we booked our reservation, they began making us part of their family. Just talking to them and some of the other guests about life was relaxing and therapeutic. The price here is very reasonable and worth every penny. There is plenty of parking in their private parking lot. As I said earlier, there is no need to look any further.

The innkeeper and other employees are very kind and catered to our needs attentively. The housekeeping service was great, there was a very convenient filtered water spot to fill our water bottles, and the ambience is very pleasant. The grounds were beautiful as well! We dined there our first night for dinner and drinks and it was delicious! We also had breakfast in the mornings out on the patio, also was delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the size of the bathroom in our room, it was very small. But this is an older building that had been updated, so I totally understand why it was so small and it overall didn't impact our experience, just something to keep in mind. I would highly recommend booking a stay here or stopping by for dinner/drinks when you can, it's a great spot in a great town!

One of us has significant food restrictions and was just inquiring about the menu posted online and whether there had been additions or changes. He acted as if this was an insulting or outrageous question and that we should have known that this has been the menu all summer. Having just arrived here we of course, did not know that and when we explained, he doubled down and asked why we would ever think that the menu posted online wasn't the current menu. We said we have frequently been to restaurants whose online menu does not always list what's available on any particular evening. He continued to insist that what we were asking made no sense to him. When we said that unfortunately we would have to cancel because there was nothing on the menu that would fit into the required diet he said he would be charging us $25 per person for the cancellation. We then explained that we thought we had a good reason to cancel and asked him to waive that. His response was to say that if we had been more remorseful, he would have waived the fee. It was as if he was blaming us for his rude behavior. At that point, we thanked him and ended the conversation. At that point, we thanked him and ended the conversation. While we understand the restaurants policy and normally would have been fine paying the fee as we know that cancellations can be difficult, we have never been traded as rudely as this, especially by a person in charge

I believe the outside was newly painted as well. The little creek that runs under the inn is cute. The place is not pet friendly. Contains about 9 rooms. Paid $155 for the night on a Saturday in September during covid. The reason I removed 2 stars is because there was no check-in process & needs some updates for sure. When we arrived there was no one there but our key was left outside in an envelope. Now I understand not having a desk attendant all day because there is only 9 people checking in, max. However, I couldn't find an email anywhere that stated the check-in process. I assume crime is very low in the area so I guess my key being out is ok. As others mentioned, the rooms are decorated with items you would see in your grandma's house. Since it was covid, there is no breakfast or anything. I understand not serving due to covid but other B&B's found ways to improvise. I was disappointed that there was not even a Keurig or small coffee pot in the room. No bottled water left or anything to help. Just a note that said to not use the dishes in the kitchen & bags of ice in the freezer. Other B&B's along the Maine coast had coffee in room & served grab-n-go breakfast items for about the same price paid here. I'm sure the family that owns this is nice, local people so I feel bad for not giving 5 stars but I have to be honest. Was trying to support local rather than a chain hotel.

The suite was spacious, extremely clean, and featured an amazing shower and an incredibly comfortable bed. We also happened to be visiting during an unusual heat wave, and the air conditioning did an impressive job--which was no small feat given the suite's two-story layout and high ceilings. Coming back to a cool, comfortable room each afternoon and evening was something we appreciated even more than we expected. The breakfasts each morning tasted every bit as good as they looked and kept us full until dinnertime! My husband was running late our first morning (we struggled to adjust from West Coast time), and Matt and Jessica kindly prepared an off-menu breakfast sandwich for him to enjoy later (which was fantastic, by the way). Admittedly, we weren't the most punctual breakfast guests during our stay, yet they couldn't have been more gracious about it. That level of flexibility and kindness certainly did not go unnoticed. Speaking of the innkeepers, I was impressed by how they managed to strike the perfect balance of being warm and welcoming without ever being over the top. They seemed to take their cue from each guest, happily engaging in conversation when invited while also giving everyone plenty of space to enjoy their stay. In my opinion, that can be one of the trickiest parts of staying at a bed-and-breakfast, but Matt and Jessica absolutely nailed it. The inn itself is beautifully maintained, with thoughtful details throughout that make it feel welcoming and special without being stuffy or pretentious. I kept thinking of it as "understated pampering". The location is also ideal--an easy walk to Camden Harbor, shops, and restaurants, while serving as a perfect home base for exploring the many beautiful destinations within an hour's drive. It's clear that Matt and Jessica genuinely care about creating an exceptional experience for their guests. We left feeling relaxed, well cared for, and hoping we might find a reason to return in the future. We highly recommend the Captain Swift Inn!
