This place is amazing! It's in a convenient spot, right next to Starbucks, across from Target/Walmart/Home Depot and other stores. It's relatively close to TJ Maxx and Market 32, and that shopping "plaza". The only problem is the parking. If there is an event going on(fundraiser, party, etc), I suggest parking in the Starbucks or Dunkin parking lot. 16 Handles is a great business, with great frozen yogurt, a simple system, and a wonderful memorable place that offers both inside and outside seating. Little kids will love this, and so will older kids and any age! The service is usually pretty good, although as customers, you basically serve yourself! But the employees will always help you if you need it! AND: After my wisdom tooth surgery, as me and my mother were waiting for the pain medication from Target to be ready, we hopped on over to 16 Handles- it was before 1 pm so it wasn't open but the guy working there(I think he is the manager now) , gave me free froyo!! This place is very good. It has the best ice cream you will ever have! The service is great!

My wife helped me with a construction and moving project for a friend, and on the way home she suggested we stop here. We are not big ice cream people, and this is yogurt, but the idea of eating something sweet and cold appealed to us. There were many flavors of frozen yogurt on tap, along with a plethora of toppings, so the combinations were infinite. Everything is charged by weight. I tried their peanut butter flavor, their mint chocolate chip flavor, and a chocolate flavor. Because they are all extruded out of a machine, they were all very soft. If you like soft serve ice cream this is fine, but I enjoy hard ice cream more and felt compelled to eat it fast lest it melt on me. I won't mention all of the toppings I put on though they included candy bar pieces, fruit, and nuts. I stupidly again put gummy bears on and that resulted in hard pieces of candy that are very difficult to eat. When will I learn? The price seemed reasonable for the variety of options and flavors available, and my bowl (the smallest) loaded with what I deemed to be a single serving of ice cream and treats came out to about $6. It was a fun way to regain some much-needed calories after a busy afternoon. read more

This is your standard 16 Handles. The employees were very attentive (maybe even too attentive) offering samples of the various flavors. The place was really clean. Standard procedure here: we picked our bowl, picked our yogurt (I put three different in my bowl), and then picked out all the toppings we wanted. Just remember that you pay by weight - so don't load up on too many heavy toppings or you will be shocked by the price. My opinion is that this type of place is WAY over priced and that you pay an insane amount for the toppings you mindlessly pile on. Yes, there are lots of fun flavors and loads of topping options. But I don't really think it's worth $14 for 2 small bowls. So I very rarely go to this type of business. For what it is, this place did its job and delivered as expected. Still love the product. The old rewards program was simple-you gave your phone number when you went in. They recently changed, and when we went in yesterday they explained there was a new program. I responded we had some trouble converting and installing the app and asked if she could just lookup by phone number. "No, can't do that anymore." to which I asked if I could get a receipt and still get credit on the new system. "No you can't". Yes it's good. How can it not be? Lots of topping choices! I especially like crushed Oreo cookies and crushed butterfinger candy bar. I had the Tahitian Vanilla and chocolate and cinnamon vanilla yogurt flavors. I sprinkled on my toppings. I didn't go too overboard but my cup and another the same size without any toppings was over $12. Kind of steep! And what's with the tip cup for "exceptional service"? It's self serve! They have many flavors but only one was soy milk based. No sugar free options here either - which I am okay with but others might not be so happy with. They have a few yogurt flavors that are not kosher which was puzzling...if you are going to... why not have all the yogurt be kosher? They had a wide range of toppings - always a hit with my kids. Beware the hot fudge is really hot! The bathrooms were clean and the place was pleasant and had plenty of places to sit. This is great! 16 Handles opened a new shop recently in East Greenbush next to Starbucks, adding to the numerous "do it yourself" froyo shops in the area including TCBY across the street. 16 Handles of East Greenbush had their grand opening celebration 2 weeks ago giving away free froyo (I could not make it to that event). 16 Handles offers 16 flavors of soft frozen yogurt (8 machines x 2 flavors each = 16 HANDLES). The flavor choices are changed up often and posted on their website. Grab a paper bowl, fill it up with your favorite flavor(s) of frozen yogurt, then choose from around 50 toppings to add to your frozen treat including candies, nuts, cereals, fruit toppings, sauces, and more, then weigh and pay (49 cents per ounce, plus tax). Samples are also given out upon request. I stopped in at the EG 16 Handles for my dessert after finishing up dinner at a nearby restaurant, where I passed on dessert so I could get my 16 Handles froyo fix at a similar price. I was greeted by a young staff member as I entered the shop and asked if this was my first time to 16 Handles. I've been to the Clifton Park location (and many other DIY froyo places too), so I was all set! I grabbed a cup and filled it with several flavors of froyo including Eurotart, coffee break, pomegranite raspberry sorbet, white chocolate mousse, and graham cracker, then I topped my treat with kiwi, strawberries, bobas, wet walnuts in syrup (my favorite!), cookie dough, rainbow tart, granola, and peanut butter sauce. After weighing, I spent just around $6 for my cold treat. My froyo treat with my "wacky" choices was very interesting with lots of nice flavors going on. The froyo texture was just right and not as dense (soft serve ice creamlike) as other froyo places. The tastes of the coffee break and pomegranite raspberry froyos with cookie dough bits, kiwi, sweet walnuts, & peanut butter sauce on the same spoonful was absolutely enjoyable and refreshing! Simple. 16 Handles gives you more choices than TCBY, and a much larger toppings selection, for the exact same price (49 cents per ounce, self serve). On my first visit in, I got to sample several different choices until I found one I really enjoyed, and when I got my own bowl full and then picked my own toppings, I was in froyo heaven. The cost per ounce is not all that much, if you're looking for a small snack. I would definitely recommend this place but there don't seem to be enough seats inside, though I'd guess most people would take their yogurt to go, anyway. read more

There are TONS of these little yogurt shops around. There is even a TCBY right across the street, and I have been to many of them around the Capital District. However, this 16 Handles really stands out to me. I went in with my husband and we were greeted by I can only assume the owner. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgable and showed a real passion for the business. I consider that rare in these days. Now to the yogurt-I think the flavors were more rich and accurate than TCBY. I tried the Cake Batter, Mint Chocolate, and Fudge Brownie. ALL of them were very good. Toppings were clean and fresh. I will definitely be returning when the weather gets a little nicer. read more

Being from Los Angeles I must say we have tons of choice in the yogurt department. This place is my favorite around here but I do find it's always over runned by kids' parties every time I've been. The only location in the area that always has a non-dairy vanilla or chocolate soy option. Great for vegans or people who have dairy allergies. We get a creamy version, too, and we don't have to settle for sugar-water sorbet. The owner is lactose intolerant, so he understands the need for non-dairy options. read more

I have been to all the chain frozen yogurt joints in the area AND in many other regions of the country. 16 Handles is by far the best! In particular, the East Greenbush one stands out above the rest. It is always clean, the topping area is always neat (nothing is worse than topping mixed together), and the staff is very friendly. You will frequently see the owners helping out as well and speaking with the customers. Salted Caramel is my favorite! I also like the way they rotate several new flavors each month or so. We enjoy it so much, we decided to host our child's birthday party there. It was a huge hit with all the kids. The staff was very attentive and patient with the kids. They played lots of games with them, but also gave them enough freedom to enjoy themselves. I would highly recommend you give 16 Handles a try. read more

I enjoy some 16 Handles now and then - and had previously only been to the Clifton Park location. I'm glad that there is now one closer to where I live for when I need a frozen dairy fix but want to pretend to be healthier by bypassing Stewart's hard serve for 16 Handles fro-yo instead. The staff was very friendly, and offered to give us samples right away, especially of the new flavors they were featuring. I got the salted caramel - yum!!! and added lots of fixings like more caramel and peanut butter and butterfingers and other candy bar and saucey goodness (see told you my whole idea of it being healthy was all a lie) I try not to go too overboard since you pay by the ounce and loading up too much you could easily turn this into a $15 cup of fro-yo, and that would just be ridiculous. But I managed to keep it to a modest $5.50, and sat down and enjoyed my handy work, and I must admit it was spectacular. Highly recommend the salted caramel option - with whatever combination you'd like it with. read more

The froyo here is so good! Sample any flavors you want. I like to get peanut butter froyo with chocolate toppings or mint froyo with oreo topping. The price is based on weight, so be careful if you want to save a few cents. Overall, I've found it to be very affordable. read more

Went to a birthday party at 16 Handles. It was one of the BEST children's birthday parties I have been to. The yogurt is much better than I expected and in comparison to other froyo. The staff made sure the kids had fun and the games were entertaining for all to watch and for the kids to participate. The prizes were $5 gift cards! I can't wait to go back!! read more
