As soon as I opened the box, I was honestly a bit disappointed by how tiny they were for the price (the photo make them look bigger). The flavor options are fun, and I liked the taste of all of them. Double chocolate chip was probably my favorite, while red velvet was my least favorite. It had a bit of a strange taste to me. I would give 5 stars, but sometimes the cookies fall apart if they can be cooked a little longer, and sometimes one of the cookies is like wayyyy smaller than the others. The location is a bit strange and you really have to look for the signs. It's inside an office building (on the first floor). Once you get in the store it's still a little strange. You'll see the counter and not much else. The rest (ovens? etc.) are behind make shift walls. You order at the counter and then the worker disappears for a bit to make the cookies. As everyone said - you place your order then wait 15 mins. We walked around a bit then came back. The cookies are piping hot. We got a few cookies and an ice cream cookie sandwich. Noteworthy is that the sandwich is ginormous. Like, you can easily share it. Easily. There isn't anywhere to sit and eat so you have to take it to go. They should throw a few tables in there. My work as a DoorDash driver has familiarized me with this place, but not with the product (beyond the aromas thereof), so I knew where to find it and what to expect vis-à-vis the interior, but not what I'd think of the cookies as objects of edibility. I ordered a six-pack of oatmeal raisin from the parking lot around the corner using NC's online ordering system I'd never encountered before (i.e., it's not Mealeo or any of the other systems I'm familiar with from other places). Said system informed me that it would be about 30 minutes. Okay. (I don't understand the reviews that ding NC for taking 25 minutes (or even 15 minutes!) to make the cookies...do those reviewers not understand that these cookies are baked-to-order? That that, and its hours, are pretty much this business's entire claim to fame?) Somewhere around the 27-minute mark I hadn't heard from NC and was curious, so I went in to see what was what. The attractive little female (they seem to employ a lot of those here) took my name, went to check on my cookies, and sure enough, they were ready and waiting in the weird keep-warm cabinet they use - the thing's as tall and wide as me but I've never seen it with more product in it than can sit comfortably on the bottom (as proven by the fact that I don't remember ever seeing it with any shelves/racks in it). Seems an inefficient use of such a machine, akin to keeping your car warm over the winter by storing it in a heated and otherwise empty airplane hangar. But I digress. My cookies were indeed ready to roll when I went in, and I thought it odd that NC had taken my phone number and my email address during the ordering process but had not notified me that my order was ready. It had been kept hot in its nice cozy airplane hangar though, so I guess it didn't really matter one way or another. And in line with what others have said (and which I only noticed them saying after I'd placed my order), the oatmeal raisin cookies were not a lot different from those one gets at a supermarket bakery that bakes good chewy oatmeal raisin cookies. These ones were a little thicker than the supermarket ones and were hot (which in turn made them extra-soft inside), but that's about where their advantages ended. They were right about in the center of the National Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Sweetness Index (NORCSI), which is a little sweeter than I prefer...so all told, I don't think there's much reason for me to order them again; I think I could probably have a similar experience by bringing home some good supermarket O.R. cookies and warming them up in the oven. May have to try those peanut butter ones someday...but then, I'm not big on sweets and am less big on them with each passing day, so this sojourn to Nocturnal Cookies may well turn out to be my last. read more

Was in Albany for a Nights stay a week ago. My husband and I were curious and wanted to try their cookies. We attended a concert at the Palace Theater and went on a mission looking for this place. We walked in circles and never found the location by the theater. I tried calling the number but no answer. My husband found another location listed we headed toward that location. It's not a bad place to go for a late night dessert. We stopped here midnight after a concert and ordered a few cookies, a pint of ice cream and some brownies. There isn't really a place to eat inside and they only have milk for drinks (no coffee and tea unfortunately)... It took a while for us to get our cookies (but they were piping hot, so it's understandable). Unfortunately, the brownie we ordered was left out and we are lucky we checked -- the employees/owner working were very kind and gave us an additional brownie so we were grateful, but we would have been out of luck if we didn't catch / check the order before leaving! The ice cream pint was very tasty too and we enjoyed it for breakfast the next morning. All in all - it's a great place for late night desserts. Great concept but poorly executed. We walked in order a dozen and it was a 25 minutes wait at 7:45. The cookies themselves below average and expensive. It was around 22 dollars with tax for 12. Listen, I'm not proud that there are nights where I just NEED cookies NOW, but it happens, and when it does I'm glad we have Nocturnal Cookies around. I love to bake, especially chocolate chip cookies, but sometimes, late at night, there is neither the will nor the supply of chocolate chips to do it myself, so for around $20 on Grubhub I can have soft, chewy, still hot from the oven, delicious cookies delivered to my door; what a time to be alive! Last night's cookie order arrived so fresh I was almost convinced they were baked in the car on the way to my house. I also really love that I can add on a pint of ice cream when I'm feeling really "you only live once" about my health. I give it one star because they have the best vanilla ice cream. Maybe the place is good if you walk in. I don't know. What I do know is that if you order through a delivery service you're going to get lava hot under cooked under baked cookies. I have to say the crumbs are delicious, but I'm not a fan of waiting for cookies to cool off and then when I finally go to pick up a peanut butter cookie and falls apart because it's under baked. This is happened on at least two occasions, because I gave them another chance. One cookie was relatively baked. OK the other one was raw. It's like somebody with an industrial oven that stays on one temperature only and they only make the cookies when there's an order. The vanilla ice cream is to die for it's the best I just wish these people to get their act together and make a decent peanut butter cookie the crumbs taste good the whole cookie would probably be better. Please, Nocturnal Cookie make some cookies ahead of time get out of bed before 7 PM. I know it sucks. Make some cookies ahead of time so you're prepared and don't have your delivery drivers waiting for over 20 minutes. I have to say though, the peanut butter cookie totally stole the show! I have never had a PB cookie like this one! It was warm, filled with yummy PB, and perfectly sweet!
