Peanut butter whiskey ice cream, pistachio vodka, double chocolate whiskey and Guinness ice cream
    Megan B.

Well the problem I had when I walked in was it was an axe throwing place with a bar. I stood around for about 5 minutes waiting for someone to ask me if I needed help, but no one at the axe throwing place did. Eventually I figured I would wander over to the bar and ask, and sure enough the bartender pointed at a qr code on the bar and said see what our current offerings are here, and then let me know what you're interested in. Now while axe throwing is an excellent visual activity happening while eating boozy ice cream, the axe throwing staff are not the best partners for this. I got a 3 flavor sampler but was allowed to try two spoonfuls of flavors I was in between deciding on (btw they have a 4 sampler flight, don't get that if youre by yourself, get a DD). The flavors were very good. I bought a pint of the Dublin Double after my taste test. Conferred with the bartender over the sharpness of the vodka flavor, and found that the peanut butter whisky flavor while spot on, had some soggy pretzel I wasn't interested in. They're also taking suggestions for drink flavors to turn into ice creams which is really fun to think about.

Boozy Moo booth at Art on Lark

I've been wanting to try Boozy Moo for over a year. After all, my favorite "food group" is ice cream. What could be better-- for ice cream lovers over 21--than to have a talented mixologist infuse it with alcohol? Recently, I got my chance to try Boozy Moo at Art on Lark. The company had a booth at the street festival. Wow. It was even better than I expected. I had a bit of "Dad Jeans."What's in a name? I don't know, but it doesn't sound appetizing. The staff couldn't offer any explanation. At any rate, the combination of orange creamsicle ice cream, Grand Marnier and tequila was simply amazing. I got a scoop for $8. I wished I had an entire gallon of it. I did get a slight buzz from just the scoopful, which made me wonder if I got a full shot of a Grand Marnier or tequila. I know Boozy Moo is the fabulous brainchild of the owner of The Yard in Albany. Unfortunately, my husband is really not keen on me being anywhere near an axe throwing venue. When it comes to bar games I have very poor aim. I played corn hole and I managed to shatter a glass of beer from across the room. I bought the poor shocked guy another beer. Still, I'd like to try the other Boozy Moo flavors. I thought it deserved its own Yelp entry. Perhaps, I'll just have to wait for the next big festival or maybe there's a way to do take out. Can that be done? That would be awesome.

    Cawfee Tahwk, single scoop

We recently had tickets to a show at the Palace, and when we still had time to kill before the show after dinner, so we set off to visit The Yard - an ax throwing venue with a hot-spot bar serving Boozy Moo - small batch, alcohol-infused craft ice cream made weekly in house. This spot also serves enticing alcoholic slushes and fancy-fun cocktails, along with having a full bar including beer in cans, bottles, and draft. We skipped the ax throwing this time around, and instead headed to the bar where we shared a scoop of Boozy Moo. For the portion size, the prices seemed quite reasonable - $8 for a single, $10 for a double, and $12 for a triple. Being stuffed from dinner didn't stop us from sharing a single Chawfee Tahwk - coffee ice cream & Awakened Spirit (f/k/a Death Wish) Vodka - which was creamy and delicious. Next time I plan to visit I will try to save room for more, because the flavor list has a good amount of combos I'd like to try.

Always something. The other night, the weather was warm. My friend and I were out for a drive. We pulled into Kurver Kreme. What a nice experience! The stand is well lit. There were dozens of vehicles in the large parking lot. It looked like a tailgate. Some customers were sitting in the back of their hatchbacks taking in the scene and enjoying the warm weather. There were no lines. Many customers were just hanging out after finishing their ice creams. Some were lost in conversation. Others were busy "people watching" as a wide variety of vehicles continued to pull into the parking lot. The stand looks to be mid-century and appropriately old R&B music and 60s Rock classics blared from the speaker system. Most of the ice cream is soft serve. I ordered a small chocolate in a cup. It was good. My friend ordered a pomegranate and mango Dole whip twist, which is sort of like sherbet. It was both pretty and tasty. Elaina was our server. She was friendly and helpful. She filled our orders quickly. We had a fun time. I'm glad we stopped.

A small cone or dish is 3 scoops, currently at $5.25, tax included. It's cash only, but there's an ATM several feet to the right of the ordering counter. I got 2 scoops of peanut butter ice cream topped with a scoop of vanilla. The vanilla had some very small ice crystals in it but was otherwise fine. I really love their peanut butter ice cream. It's creamy with the peanut butter flavor but not overwhelming. The cone does seem to be a little small for all that ice cream, so don't dilly-dally too much eating it in warm weather. Since some other parlors near me have closed, Scoups has become by default the closest ice cream spot to me that makes their own hard ice cream. This is not a bad thing. It's also not bad that it's not too far away from Wolf Road, and it becomes a convenient spot for dessert after dinner nearby.

There are picnic tables available on the property in front of a wooden fence where you can often see a few cows grazing nearby. Talk about farm to market! Not only is the homemade ice cream top quality, it is delicious. In addition, they serve soft vanilla and soft chocolate, dole whip, homemade Italian Ice, and Frogurt. The numerous flavors of ice cream are rich and bold. They are described well on the menu. Portions are generous so you may want to size down. I like a "small" cone of the Toffee Heath Bar Crunch. Staff is friendly and efficient no matter how long the line is at the window.

But I did finally stop by for some of the famous desserts/ ice cream. Service was great. The young man at the service window made a number of very helpful suggestions, especially after I mentioned that I've begun to show a bit of dairy sensitivity if I have ice cream late at night. So I tried the nondairy Dole pineapple whip in a cup. It was delicious. My friend had a double scoop of chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone. That was delicious, too. I tried some. There were many customers. Since Guptill's is widely considered a Capital Region institution, I'm slightly embarrassed that I haven't visited before. The ice cream stand is large and clean. The staff is young and courteous. I can't explain why I haven't been to the rink yet since I skate pretty well. Perhaps I've just been busy. Still, this was a good start. Hopefully, I will get around to doing some roller skating in the coming weeks. It might be a good way to beat the heat since Guptill's is air conditioned during the summer.
