We've been to several dried preserves stores looking for the perfect ones because my mom loves them. She can't find such places in San Francisco. She's been to stores in Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, Arcadia mall, but in particular, Westminster where we came across 168 Kho Bo. We marveled at how the dried ginger, spicy and not spicy, were fresher and not old-looking like the ones in the store we had just visited. 168 was newer, had more light, more customers (a good sign) and the prices were reasonable. Free parking at the mall. We'll be back the next time mom runs out of her preserves and visits me in Los Angeles.

My mom asked me to buy some jerky when I visited the mainland last year. During that visit, my experience with the service staff was positive. The quality of their food was also pretty good. The store was clean. None of the food I brought back to Hawaii got moldy or old, compared to this other popular jerky chain I shopped at from the same area. Anyway, this time, my mom asked me to check if there's an option to order online for shipping to Hawaii. I placed my order online late Friday night. They called me on Saturday morning to notify me that an item was out of stock and offered a replacement. They then mailed my purchase on the same day. The lady on the phone, whom I spoke to, sounded friendly and courteous. Today is Monday, and I received my purchase. I'm very impressed with the speed of service and professionalism of this business. The food I received looked fresh and of quality. I hope they shall continue to keep this transparent, prompt, friendly customer service, and quality of food up!! :)

This is hands down the best beef jerky I've ever had! The texture is perfect--chewy but not too tough--and the flavor is amazing. Each bite is packed with a delicious smoky taste that's just the right balance of sweet and savory. I can't get enough of it! Service is awesome!!

My first time visiting this place since I was out of town for Veterans Day weekend! My dad wanted me to get him some Vietnamese beef jerky. When we walked in, the staff were really welcoming and asked if we needed help. After a few minutes, they also asked if we wanted to try anything. I got to try the non-spicy beef jerky that many get, and I got that for my dad! Next time when I come back I'm going to get him the spicy one. My dad really liked it! Paying in cash will save you the credit card fee and good thing I had cash! Will be back in a few weeks!

Huge selection of beef jerky. Credit card transactions incur 75 cents surcharge. Kinda expensive for beef jerky. I probably won't be back.

When you request for a pound of a certain dry good in containers they like to add in a little extra. After you requested for several different type of dry goods and they weigh the packages you'll notice immediately they added more than a little to each package and you're paying much more then you expected. We purchased like 8 different type of dry fruits asking for 2 pounds but to separate the 2 pounds into a pound each into separate bags. Because we were giving some as gifts. After the package were weighed we quickly noticed every package was much more than a pound and they didn't want to remove the excess to create the exact weight. When you ask them to make the corrections they make you feel like you're in the wrong, when you're trying to support their business. Upon paying and leaving the store a young and older Asian couple walking past us who seen the 2 bags full of goodies mentioned to us that the store isn't all hyped up to be. When I asked what they thought of this location they said they purchased items themselves about a year ago and told us the staff will pull a fast one on you if you're not paying attention. So always make sure if you ask for a pound that you're paying for a pound because the staff will indeed pull a fast one on you. Never support a business that will cheat you in the end! My purchase was my first time visit to this location but will never return again. Please be warned..

Shopper drive from miles around to hit up what is generally considered the best Vietnamese market in Orange County; unfortunately, they all try to park in this awkward parking lot that serves a zillion other businesses (including Seafood Cove II and some cheaters from Asian Garden Mall across the street). Don't give up, as there's plenty of in-and-out here. Great prices on fresh vegetables here and we scored ramen on sale. A top top top selection of cookie/cakes in gift box style; don't be surprised if you get one of those from me. Tons of other non-food items too -- I even bought a rug. Load up your car and then up to Seafood Cove for dim sum. Then, stay in the shopping plaza for amazing boba and a haircut!

I shopped here couple time since it opened but 1st time since this branch took over. Parking is huge but depending when you go so it can be crowed and hectic at time. There is that old Asian market smell (mixed of fish/meat/and veggies all together) upon entering. Fresh veggies and fruits. Meats and seafood are good cooking and plenty of selection. Prices wise are reasonable and affordable for sure. Staff are stiff and seem not quite happy (and I'm here at 9am), they can be abit friendly...but overall not bad.

Long awaited review as I have been coming here for decades. There are so many markets all over…read moreLittle Saigon, however, I keep gravitating here. Seems to me, it is less crowded than other markets. (If I can avoid crowds, I will). It was Tet New Year season and I needed to get a few ingredients for some dishes I planned to cook. My first priority was the fresh oxtail in the meat department. I have gone to many markets for this cut and it seems this is the best place for a ~2 pound tray of mixed size tails. The fat is all trimmed off, as opposed to other markets that leave a fat layer behind that you are paying for. It also depends on if you prefer leaner tails. Next, the produce section. I picked up some cailan (Chinese broccoli). For the most part, the Asian veggies are pretty fresh - since there is a higher turnover rate of Asian veggies in this area. It was good on this day. So many varieties of green veggies, I love it! The fruit section is also pretty impressive. Papayas, guanabana, dragon fruit, pommelo, tangerines, korean pear, manzano bananas,...Not your ordinary apples and oranges. Dry goods include a plethora of rice, including Thai sweet rice, Japanese rice (perfect for sushi rice), red rice (known for high fiber and low glycemic index)... Who likes Chinese Style sausage? Me! It is called Lap Xuong, in Vietnamese. I love making Thai sweet rice and serve with thinly sliced Lap Xuong - my mom fed us kids this often! And yes, they have a good supply of this here, so stock up, it will last forever in the pantry. Vietnam is the world's second largest coffee producer. You will see the crazy amount of coffee products sold here, for example, Vinacafe. Most are packed as individual serving packets which includes cream and sugar. Too convenient for consumption! Also perfect to have in your pantry. You shall be impressed with the chili aisle. Sambal of all kinds. You can make an awesome pot of chili with this heat! Lots of Lunar New Year items too. I am sure there are still some left for purchase if you didn't have a chance to pick some up yet. They do have a liquor department too. Asians can drink iykyk. If you do, please don't drink and drive. Parking is ok, if you go shopping off peak hours. Market is on Beach Boulevard and it could get pretty busy so plan wisely. So enjoy your visit. It is always fun to discover a new product and try something you have never eaten before!

For meat, I grabbed ground beef, pork neck (currently on sale for $1.99/lb), and chicken breast. Prices were definitely reasonable. For produce, quite a few items were cheaper than H Mart, including enoki mushrooms, Japanese yam, daikon, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and carrots. That said, the Japanese yam didn't look very fresh this time, so I ended up skipping it and buying it at H Mart instead, even though it was a bit more expensive. Some items were priced about the same as H Mart, like napa cabbage ($0.99/lb), onions ($0.39/lb), and bean sprouts ($0.99 per pack). One change I noticed is that cucumbers are now pre-packaged instead of being sold loose, so you can't pick them individually anymore. They're also slightly more expensive than H Mart now. They also had a great deal on Driscoll's strawberries, $0.99 for a 1 lb box, which is definitely worth picking up. Overall, still a great spot for affordable grocery shopping, especially if you're cooking at home and want to save a bit here and there. (visited on 3/31/2026)
