This location is open and close a couple times and they recently open again. This time looks like the concept is the same as their Brookhust location in Garden Grove. They have food to go in small portions already in separate containers ready for pick up. All items seem to be under $10. Since they are new with this concept, not a lot of items on the counter when we visited around 9:00am in the morning on Sunday. We ordered from the counter with a nice lady and waited a few minutes for our food. The food tastes pretty much the same as their Brookhust location. They give a free steam rice container when you buy two main dishes. They also have steam buns here. No longer offering dine in just affordable food to go items.

I came on a Saturday around 12:30pm with surprisingly no wait for dine-in. We were looking for a new spot to try bo ne or the sizzling plate for brunch and stumbled across this place. I didn't come in with much expectation since it wasn't as highly rated as other trending places for bo ne or banh mi chao, but I'm glad I did! We ordered one bo ne and one crispy pork belly banh mi. The sizzle plate came out sizzling and the baguette on the side was warm, toasted, and super fluffy inside. Even after cooling, the bread was crisp outside and soft inside, not stale or hard at all. The sizzle plate itself seemed to be a bigger portion that I was used to, no complaints. I enjoyed the tender meat and multiple egg yolks to mix with the sauce and dip my bread in. Sauce is a little on the sweeter side. I must say, this dish has impressed me more than other places that charge +$8 for a similar, maybe less impressive dish. Will definitely be coming back for this! I only had a bite of the crispy pork banh mi, but wow, it was definitely crisp! The sauce inside the banh mi was also on the sweeter side, a tad too sweet for my liking.

A cozy little restaurant in a tight plaza with challenges with parking, but the reward will be worth the journey out on to Bolsa Ave.; the Bo ne here did not disappoint! Upon entering the girls at the counter make you feel very welcomed and greet you right away. They come over quickly with a bottle of iced tea to share and menus to order. Coming here in the AM post work out, I really needed some protein. I was displeased with the several other spots I stopped in for bo ne the ENTIRE WEEK, cause really?! I think all my millennial counterparts understand; all our favorites are gone :( ahem. But onto newer and better things... :) I was surprised to say the least the bo ne plate was fabulous! And the bread was so good I ate the whole thing! I was trying to stay away from carbs but it was soo well worth it. The bread was warm, fresh, has the right amount of crunchy outside and soft, pillowy inside. It went well with the sizzling plate and soaked up all the extra yummy sauce with my steak bites. I also got to try the crispy pork plate and the rice with it was so awesome!! Although I wish I could just have added the Pork to my Bo ne plate as a side, Or if they had a half and half plate in the future, hint hint ;) The sweetest part about all this is how feasible the meal was. I was utterly shocked at how the quality could be so decent with a price so low. In this economy, I am happy to find places like Lac Viet and wholeheartedly invite you to try something amazing that a business passionately puts out there for their community to enjoy and does it very well and feasibly. Thank you Lac Viet Concepts!

This spot is on my list of go to places in Orange county. It's a small area so there's always going to be a little bit of a wait, but it's always worth it. They only have a few things on the menu but they do it very well. Me and my girl went here at the end of our visit and I wish I found it earlier because I would come here at least once a day. The sandwiches were decent and the meat they use in all their dishes are seasoned perfectly. Whether you're stopping by to get a sandwich, a skillet, or just a coffee you won't be disappointed.

This place was recommended by friends one night, and since then we've been back several times. The prices are great, especially for the skillet meat with rice or the bánh mì. Service is decent, and the ambiance is nice, though the cleanliness could use some improvement. Still, for affordable and tasty eats, I'd definitely come back. I also heard they recently opened a new location under the Lac Viet concept, which offers a completely different menu from what's served here.

No matter what time of day or which day I come , it is always packed. When we ordered the Bo Ne, meat version only, they keep bringing out the version with shrimp included. My husband and I waited almost 30 minutes from when we ordered to receive our food. His coffee came out super quick, but I had to remind the waitress to bring out tea and utensils for us. We like the food and all, but the service needs to improve. I don't think they are efficient and a lot of tables were waiting for their food as well. I think they can improve if they let people order and pay before they sit down.

Food: Banh mi heo quay is pretty filling and decent. A bit salty. I definitely wanna try one of the skillets next time. Service: Quick and easy ordering up front and then you can choose to sit and eat there or to-go. Ambiance: Isn't super packed and busy but people will come and go. Casual spot to eat some viet food.

From com tam to Bo ne and banh mi!! When Lac Viet first opened, I was amazed with their packaging for com tam ( broken rice). It was super neat. It was also good. Not sure why they decided to switch the concept. Over the weekend, i didn't know what to eat so decided to go here. The Bo ne from yelp pics looked really good. Another thing that caught my eyes were the prices lol Bo Ne for around $13?? Why not lol The portion was ok for the price. They replaced pate with shrimps. I like pate so I was a bit disappointed. Bo Ne was a bit too sweet for my taste. It was tender though, which was good. My mom ordered the rice with crispy pork (heo quay). The meat part was tasty, but the part that was supposed to be crispy was really tough to chew. It was not crispy at all. Rice was a bit rough to chew as well. The place was somewhat dirty. They offered special prices at a certain time and for togo. Place can get pretty busy and parking can suk. Weird how most of the spots were 15 minutes only Service was ok

Wanted to gate keep this place but figured this business needs more love than it's received. Lac Viet Concepts has such flavorful, affordable eats with quality ingredients. It is a small restaurant with a small parking lot but is very cozy and the service is great. Customers are provided with free tea when sitting in. They offer a different price for sit in versus to go. It seems most people order to go but I liked dining in. I ordered the Bó Nè and enjoyed how fresh it was. The bread had the perfect crunch and the bó was cooked just the right amount. I didn't try the drinks but would come back for those.

Came on a Saturday afternoon. Always crowded and busy because the food is so good and cheap! Small casual Vietnamese comfort food. They offer dine-in and to-go. The menu is pretty small/limited which is perfect if you're indecisive like me. They also offer very cheap banh mis and drinks! -bo ne: 9.2/10. Delicious! Comes out fresh and hot on a sizzling plate. Perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors. This is my favorite dish because it's served with a side of bread. - come heo quay: 9.0/10. Crispy! Savory! Delicious. The crispy pork belly was cooked perfectly and the serving sizes of these dishes is huge! There is plenty of crispy pork belly. - com ne: 8.5/10. Delicious and tasty. Similar to the other two dishes, but not my preference of carb. Everything is so delicious, you can't go wrong with any of their items.

This has been one of my favorite new finds! We've been here twice but both times were memorable. Very simple menu but everything is good. Both the Com Ne and the Bo Ne are tasty but I find I like the Com Ne more. The rice they serve is delicious and with the sauce it's more satisfying than the bread. We also always get the banh mi so it's nice to have the variety of rice and bread. The flavor is on point and everything is cooked well. The beef could be a bit more tender but for the price I'm not even mad. I do wish it came with pate The banh mi is amazing. They toast the bread - seems so simple but such a game changer. I wish they had a deli meat banh mi combo like any other banh mi place but the pork and crispy pork are great substitutes. Will likely make this place a regular stop in my rotation!

Lac Viet has won my heart with their small menu and cute/modern hole in the wall vibes. Located in a tiny strip mall somewhat near Lee's and SC2, I almost missed this place when driving. Their specialties are Vietnamese skillet dishes and banh mi, and I can tell that keeping the menu small has helped them deliver on flavor! Service was pretty good. You can order to-go (which is cheaper than dining in) at the counter, but if you're eating at the restaurant you'll need to take a seat. This was a little confusing at first to be honest because I didn't see any signs that tell you to do that, but it's not a big deal. Servers are quick to take your order and it's a straightforward, no nonsense experience. Bo ne: 5/5 - this classic Vietnamese skillet dish consisting of beef steak, eggs, onions, and tomatoes in a rich savory sauce truly delivered exactly what I wanted. The beef wasn't overcooked and the sauce was so flavorful I didn't need to add any of the sauces they have at the tables; perfect sauce to soak up with the baguettes that come with your meal. Egg yolks were nice and runny and overall it was a great nostalgic dish. I will definitely be back. Warning: parking is literally nonexistent so get creative or park in the back somewhere.

Was recommended to try this place by a friend, who i actually visited with. I've never heard of this place but I really enjoyed my experience. They have a very limited menu, but that's okay. We ordered a com tam and a bo ne. The did run out of pate for the bo ne, which was a bit sad, but was okay. The broken rice plate was plated beautifully. It also came with soup. Was it the best com tam I've ever had? No, but for the price, I'd happily come here once a week and enjoy it each time! The bo ne was very flavorful as well. Overall, I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit!

I came to try Ike's because I let one of their workers go ahead of me in line at the market. He described a few of the sandwiches and I was intrigued. Nice job! It's a pulled chicken sandwich that is absolutely delicious--honestly, it's the most unique "actual" sandwich you can get in the area. The Perfect Order: * The Build: You have to get it on Dutch Crunch bread with no tomato. * The Flavor: The Dutch Crunch is amazing, especially with the honey on it. The sandwich itself is almost like a chicken sloppy joe--it's bomb. * The Perks: I love that they still include those little caramel apple suckers with the order. It's a signature touch that I hope they never stop doing. * Rewards: Their point system is very favorable. I frequently get free drinks, chips, or discounts on my sandwiches. The Critiques: * Ingredients: Like a few other spots, this one makes me feel a bit "off" afterward. Since the meat is tossed in sauce and they add more to the bread, I suspect there might be some MSG involved. * Pricing: Things are getting expensive across the board, and I feel like most places--this one included--are overcharging by about $3. Five stars would only be achievable if the pricing was more reasonable. Final Thoughts: Despite the price and the "food coma" afterward, the #111 is too good to pass up. It's a solid four-star experience every time.

We were headed toward REI to grab some outdoor chairs and decided to stop at GHOST Sando Shop in Huntington Beach. I've driven past this place plenty of times and never really knew what it was. It also happened to be one of the only places open in the shopping center that early, so we figured, why not? Man, we had no idea what we were missing. We ordered the Melrose for ourselves and a Club for our daughter. Marco took our order and was also the one making the sandwiches. A few minutes after we sat down, he actually walked over and asked me, "Are you sure you want the pepperoncini and tomato on the Club?" My first thought was basically, uhhh... yeah, of course I do! Then it clicked. The Club was for our daughter. Marco had remembered that from our conversation when we ordered and knew that a lot of kids probably aren't exactly excited about pepperoncini and tomatoes. Meanwhile, Dad over here completely forgot to ask for them off. That might seem like such a small thing, but THAT is customer service. Marco wasn't just taking an order, collecting payment, and moving on to the next customer. He was actually paying attention. He remembered who the sandwich was for and took the extra few seconds to come over and double check before making it. Good looking out, Marco. Seriously. And that wasn't the only interaction we had with him. Marco was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in. He talked with us, answered questions, and even gave us suggestions on other sandwiches we should try the next time we come back. Nothing felt forced or scripted. It was just genuine conversation from someone who seemed to actually care whether we enjoyed our experience. There were only two guys working while we were there, yet everything was running smoothly. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was relaxed, the bright green interior gives the place its own personality, and there's plenty of seating inside along with a really nice outdoor patio area. And most importantly, the sandwiches were GOOD. The Melrose was a great first choice, and Melody enjoyed her Club, thankfully without Dad accidentally loading it up with pepperoncini. We also grabbed some Calypso lemonades, which went perfectly with everything. We originally stopped here simply because it was open and convenient. Now it's somewhere we'll intentionally come back to. There are thousands of places where you can buy a sandwich. What makes you remember a restaurant is usually the people behind the counter. Marco made us remember GHOST. Excellent food, clean restaurant, great atmosphere, and genuinely outstanding customer service. One thing I like to do is mix provolone with Cheez Whiz for a unique, more Philly-style taste. The plate came out with big chunks of mozzarella tomatoes, and both were sitting on a marinated pesto covered set of basil leaves. That was so good. The combination of the vinaigrette, mozzarella basil tomato pesto was exactly what we were looking for so refreshing. Our entrées were huge for $20 a plate. We had to take 3/4 of it home. That was so not expected. Pasta and the pasta sauce were amazing. Very freshly made. Dishes were made to order only and not sitting around. I asked if they were doing something special for birthdays and I pointed to my mom next to you know, the waiter came out with fresh homemade Tim. They also sing to my mom wish she was so sweet. I am loving this place and will be coming back. Thank you so much for the staff for making my mom feel so wonderful on her birthday. The food was amazing Services amazing. Restaurant felt warm the moment we walked in and so welcoming.

Wow for the food alone! Visit date 9/4/26. Came for dinner since we were craving seafood. Great…read morecustomer service from the young man in front as soon as we walked in. Told him it was our first time and he gave us time to look over the menu. We got the signature combo ($31.95) that came with a lobster roll, a side, spring mix salad, and cup of soup. Got the maine lobster roll, fries as the side, and clam chowder. We also got a classic butter lobster roll ($21.95) with salad since we weren't too hungry and shared the fries. For such a decent price the lobster rolls had a very good amount of lobster meat and not too heavy handed on the mayo and butter. The buttered roll was not too thick and held the fillings perfectly without breaking apart. We enjoyed the crunchy battered fries and the dressing on the salad was perfect. The spring mix was really fresh as well. The clam chowder had a thinner consistency than what I would prefer but it had a rich seafood flavor. The items we got did not include drinks but we prefer water anyway. For the total price we paid, it was a great meal and we left very full and satisfied. Rated 10/10 for the food, flavor, amount, and price. Oh and the customer service too! There's a good amount of tables mostly for groups of two or four. It was a nice place to grab a casual delicious meal and enjoy the food without feeling rushed. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back to try more items.

Tried Lobster Guys and decided to do a little lobster roll taste test! We ordered the Maine Style,…read moreConnecticut Style, and Classic Butter Lobster Rolls. All three were loaded with a really generous amount of lobster, definitely not skimpy, and at around $22 each, I thought the portions were pretty good for the price. The Connecticut Style was my favorite. The lobster is served warm and poached in butter, with just a touch of mayo, green onions, and Old Bay. I really liked the combination of the warm buttery lobster with the creaminess from the mayo. The Maine Style is served cold with lemon aioli and celery, while the Classic Butter is warm buttered lobster with Old Bay. Both were good, but I'd order the Connecticut again without hesitation. If you're a lobster lover, this is a fun spot because you can try the different styles and actually taste the difference. Connecticut Style = the winner for me!
