New favorite place with a view! We finally checked out Tapped on a busy Saturday afternoon and I was really impressed. It was completely packed, but they run things like a well-oiled machine. The staff were attentive, friendly, and super accommodating- we were checked on multiple times throughout our visit (wish I had caught their names!). I also appreciated how efficient their system is. You line up to order drinks and starters while waiting for a table, which kept everything moving smoothly. We ordered the (honey ginger) wings, roasted cauliflower, fish sandwich, and seasoned fries. The roasted cauliflower is to die for, so rich and flavorful, it honestly reminded me of scalloped potatoes, shout out Beecher's cheese. So good! I'd see if I can order the wings with sauce on the side next time since I'm not much of a glazed wing girl, but they were still solid. Went there with friends to see how this location compared to the sister location in Mukilteo. First off, you are paying for view. Pure and simple, that is why you are eating here; because of the view. They have good menu and drink selection. I have no issue with the selection of beers and the cost. The food is a different issue. It is overpriced for the quality. The chicken sandwich I had was over $20. A BLT is over $18. Really? A BLT? That's nuts. The server asked me if I wanted my sandwich as 'Nashville Hot'. It was not a Nashville Hot chicken sandwich since all they did was dump hot sauce on the chicken patty. Pretty pathetic. I've had Nashville hot chicken in Nashville and this is not even close to what it's supposed to be. The service was good and attentive. My table had 2 dishes come to the table with a hair on each. That was unacceptable but one of the server leads was able to rectify that situation. Will I be back? I highly doubt it. It's just way too expensive for what you get. read more

I've been wanting to check out this location for a while now. I got a gift card for my birthday and wanted to use it at The Port. We frequent the Mukilteo one and have rented the event space for a couple of work parties. Complements all around from guests at how wonderful the experience was. Every time we get visitors in town, it's one restaurant we always take them to and highly recommend. I go with my co-workers quite often as the food is amazing. Staff are really nice and we love that it's family friendly. We finally decided to go to The Port last Friday (05/22) after nap time and school pickup. So around 3:30-4pm. We have a 5 year old and a 20 month old. We didn't have to wait too long in line but we also couldn't get a table till after we ordered, per staff? Unless we misunderstood that. It wasn't overly packed but there weren't any tables that could fit 4. Some of the big booths had 2 guests while the smaller tables inside by the window that had 2 chairs were mostly free. We ended up finding a spot outside, which was fine until it wasn't. It was soooo hot. And there weren't any umbrellas. Is that because they would block thewould've been ok if it was just us adults there because I love basking in the sun but I felt bad for the kids. My 5 year old ended up sitting on the floor kinda under the table cause he was so hot. I sat close to my youngest in the high chair to shield him as much as possible so he could eat. Also kind of awkward facing towards the inside of the restaurant and seeing people staring out. Obviously they are looking at the wonderful view and hopefully not judging our whole situation LOL. So the experience wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped which was a bummer since I've been really wanting to check this place out. Anyway, we will try again for sure, cause I really do love Tapped! But now I know the things to consider and be prepared for when we visit next time. read more

What a great find! The service is outstanding. Everyone is so friendly, available and willing to help! We sat at the bar and watched all the amazing food come out - made it hard to decide. First visit at the Tapped at the Port location. I've been to the other locations and tapped at the port is by far the best with the ambiance and the views. I came for a drink and a shareable app. We got seated couple mins after arriving and ordering even though the restaurant was already crowded. Got a glass of rose to start. During our outing, the waiters would stop by to check on us and see if we wanted to order, which is nice because the other locations don't really do that. We ordered the sweet potato waffle fries to share. The fries came out hot. When we wanted to close out, we didn't have to wait in line again, a waiter came by to close us out. read more

To be fair, this should be 3.5 star rating but since that is not an option and a 4 is just too high I have to stick to 3. The ordering system (similar to the nearby Net Shed which seems to be owned by the same people) sucks. You cannot order until you are given a table number so a huge line forms down the stairs while people wait for something to open. Further, there are no menus anywhere until you finally reach the front and are allowed to order where menus are displayed on a screen in tiny font. This slows down the process even more because no one is ready yet when they can finally read the menu. They have menu QR codes on the table numbers but you don't get one until you've sat down and by then you've ordered anyway. If they don't want to print menus there should at least be a QR code sign in the hallway so everyone can prep while they're waiting, or better yet, one of the million crew members could walk over and offer it. There is an insane amount of people working the floor for a place that requires people to order at the counter. It also means there are too many people hovering as you eat to try and free up the table as soon as you finish for the many people in line. It's uncomfortable. It's also confusing what all the staff do. When we asked for water while ordering, the cashier pointed us to the nearby water fountain to fill our own drinks. A server was there too, filling glasses with ice and water and taking them to a table so it was slightly awkward to serve ourselves (with only water, ice is behind the bar) and I could tell she was a little bothered we were kind of in her space yet we just were following the direction of the cashier. I don't know why some tables get ice water brought to them and some don't, I have actually experienced this at another Tapped location so the miscommunication seems to be consistent. I have no problem getting my own water but as a former server, I need to know if that's actually okay or pissing off the waitstaff. The food was just okay and also not very warm for essentially being seemingly straight from the kitchen, based on the ordering process. We got the tots with Beechers cheese dipping sauce, a Tapped burger and fries and fried chicken sandwich with slaw. They have an excellent selection of dipping sauces for fries and the garlic aioli and ranch were great. The burger was juicy and had very good flavor, probably the best thing we ordered, however it was pretty cold. The chicken sandwich tasted like fish and I suspect it's fried in the same oil as the fish and chips. That was a bit disappointing as the fish flavor was definitely not what we were going for, nor was the ratio of breading to chicken all that great. The tots and fries come out in little cast iron dishes that, if they're real, easily could be helping keep those things warm yet I don't think they'd been heated at all, a missed opportunity for the kitchen for sure. The view here is absolutely wonderful and the beer and cider selection is great. I will give it another chance as I really like the other two Tapped locations but next time I'd just do a pretzel, tots and ciders, hopefully outside when it warms up. They are newly opened so maybe some kinks will eventually be worked out. I cannot imagine the fire marshal will be okay with the line snaking down the hallway and stairs so something will have to change soon. They lost a ton of business just while we were waiting our turn as people saw the huge line and left, not fully understanding the whole ordering system. Someone needs to be visible in the hall offering a little more communication as there is sooo much potential here. read more

Great location and beer selection. It's a restaurant but I don't like you have to wait in line in a hallway or on the stairs, then order at a counter, then find a table and receive waiting service. I'd be better request a table and be able to walk around and enjoy the water front until a table is ready. The food was not great, portions were small for the price we paid and the "smash burger" was made with a frozen preformed patty, so not a smash burger at all. Go for a drink and the views. read more

First Friday night post opening. As expected there was a wait but it moved along. We were offered our drinks to sample/order while we waited. Overall vibe was great, love the decor and view! Atmosphere was slightly impacted by young children and infants doing what they like to do, at a taproom/pub...we all make choices. Food came out very rapidly, you can see the kitchen crew, double hands working back there. Food was great as usual for Tapped. Seafood chowder and fries with Beecher's queso dip. I have been to all the locations of Tapped mill creek, mukilteo, Camano multiple times and I am a fan. This location you can tell is still working out the kinks. Service needed a little help but I know just like Mill Creek they'll get it figured out. It's a new location and obviously the port will be a VERY popular location. However, I thought it was interesting and pathetic that there were 2 tables with people of color, and the manager (older guy) stopped to check on every other table but ours. It was quite obvious. Had a great experience, arrived on the early side a little past noon. We got seated pretty quickly and the food was excellent. We didn't order alcohol, but did get the tap root beer, which was outstanding. We had French onion soup, hot chicken sandwich, and the Cuban sandwich. My husband raved over and over again about his chicken sandwich. He loved the fact that the chicken was pounded thin and it was nice and spicy. My Cuban sandwich was good, but I'd probably try something different next time. The French onion soup was very decent and the diamond knot root beer was really really addicting. Stopped into Tapped for a work lunch today for the first time at this location. Party of eleven for lunch @ 11:30. The place had only a few tables seated when we arrived. Service was really choppy and fragmented. There were multiple servers trying to satisfy orders and the communication suffered as a result. The first (single plate) was brought out fifteen minutes before the next. Then a third wave with the rest of the orders another ten minutes later. These were all main dishes with no appetizers. I didn't receive my order with everyone else. None of the servers noticed, despite asking if we needed anything. When asked about my order they finally realized it was missing and put a rush order in. When it was brought out it was incorrect. After multiple trips to make it right, there was no offer for compensation or anything. This version of Tapped is nothing like the previous Camano Island location. I know it's hard to find good people who care, and maybe they do, but they need to communicate better if that's the case. Down south or in the midwest they would have sincerely apologized at least ten times for the inconvenience and offered to adjust the bill or offer a free drink to make up for it. Went last night. The dining room is long with windows facing west. This is going to have amazing views this summer especially with the outside patio dinning. There was a line but it wasn't very long until we were seated after sampling a couple beers while we waited. Staff was always communicating with us and very welcoming. Ordered a pretzel appetizer, a burger w/tots, adult grilled cheese and basil tomato soup, and Mac and cheese for the kiddo and bread pudding for dessert. Food was good, just a couple things. My tomato soup (acidic) was starting to taste a little metallic served in uncoated cast iron bowl. Mac and cheese was very dry (although lots of places seem to prefer this preparation) my grandkids like gooey! And the bread pudding was a little overdone, the caramel had candied to hard crack stage. Given they just opened the doors things will get better. Look forward to our next visit. read more
