Unfortunately, the experience started off poorly and never really recovered. First, parking is extremely limited out front, which is frustrating when you're tired and just want a quick pickup. Inside, things only got worse. The front-of-house staff was shockingly unprofessional. The employee helping us clearly didn't understand her job and had to be corrected multiple times by another staff member--something no customer should have to witness. It created confusion, delays, and zero confidence in our order. We paid about $50 for a sampler, which is not cheap, and yet the same employee argued about giving us the sides because she entered the order incorrectly. If another, more competent employee hadn't stepped in, I'm convinced it would have escalated further. Even then, we never received one of the four sides we paid for. To make matters worse, we were never asked if we wanted drinks to go, and we weren't given plates, silverware, or even BBQ sauce--basic essentials for a takeout order. That's just unacceptable. While waiting, we also watched this same employee tell three separate dine-in families to go sit and wait while she stood there rolling silverware. Completely rude and dismissive. If I had been one of those customers, I would have walked out. This is the first impression customers get, and it's a terrible reflection of how the place is run. Between the disorganization, poor communication, and outright unfriendly behavior, the service was a mess. The only reason this isn't a one-star review is because the food itself was actually very good. The burnt ends and ribs were the standout--absolutely delicious. But great BBQ can't fully make up for such a frustrating and poorly managed customer experience.

I had high hopes for this place, but I was sorely disappointed. For a burger bar, the burgers were shockingly bland. The patty tasted like it had been cooked without any seasoning at all, and the toppings did nothing to save it. I tried adding some condiments, but even that couldn't bring any flavor to the dish. The fries were just as underwhelming -- soggy and tasteless. The only redeeming item on the menu? The fried pickles. They were crispy and had a nice tang, but when the best thing at a *burger* bar is the fried pickles, that's a major red flag. Definitely not worth the trip, and I won't be coming back. read more

Wonderful burgers and Great staff. Ordered the Kelly burger and my husband had the Sloth burger - cooked to perfection as ordered. Juicy burger and PERFECT drink -ordered 2 old fashioned made by 2 different people and both were perfect. Staff worked very well together, with a smile and it was the end of their night. Our favorite place in town for a juicy burger and cold beer. Their fries are phenomenal, and you've got to try their 1720 sauce. Our favorite burger is the American Ninja followed by the Kelly Kapowski and the Daisy Duke. The grilled chicken sandwich and BBQ chicken quesedilla are also fantastic. Our family has eaten here at least once a week since 1720 opened, and it just keeps getting better! read more

Due to Covid, they were not seating indoors, she would deliver our food to the vehicle. One young man pulled up beside us on a bicycle and he, too waited outside, while his beverage was made and delivered to him (see photo). She also remarked that this restaurant has been in business for 75 years and they sell 100 lbs. of hamburgers daily. I ordered a half Doc Hot and my husband ordered a full Doc Hot. Our bag was brought out to the vehicle and we left, not wanting to eat in our vehicle. We had a 25 minute drive back to where we were staying and we opened our bag to find our food relatively still warm enough to eat without needing to microwave. My Half Hot was 5 oz. burger on one slice bread, coated with carmelized onions and gravy. My French Fries were still warm enough to enjoy and coated with gravy. Both items were delicious, although after eating our meal, I did note that I had a strong salty flavor in my mouth. I hadn't noticed any greasiness to the burger at all. My husbands order was exactly the same, except he ordered a Big Hot, he received exactly the same as mine but with two burger patties. He didn't receive the two slices of bread he was told he would. All in all this was a nice, nostalgic place to dine at and the food is inexpensive and good. If you're on a salt restricted diet, I would not recommend. The food did not taste overtly salty at the time we were eating, but it was noted on my tongue after the fact. We enjoyed our meals and will go back.
