Did a consult to get my hair dyed then booked the actual appointment two weeks out. I was told during the consultation that it would take 3 hours. Which I was fine with. Kari was my stylist. She even booked the appointment herself by going up to the receptionist and telling her how long she needed. I showed up today only to be told by Kari that she didn't have time for a full color and that she was only booked for 1 hour for my appointment. Which is a little interesting considering the appointment was clearly labeled FULL COLOR and she didn't think to maybe ask herself that a 1 hour FULL COLOR wouldn't be enough time and that it was booked wrong? I'm assuming the stylists looks at their schedules ahead of time and that this is something that should have been caught. Instead I wasted my time getting to my appointment 15 minutes early only to be told by Kari that she didn't have enough time AND she had the gall to ask me if I wanted to reschedule. read more

Just moved to the area not long ago and was looking for a new stylist in the area. I came across the reviews here, booked an appointment with Parker (who is great), and went to check it out. Located in a popular shopping area so there are parking garages that are conveniently located nearby. Parking is free. The salon is very well kept, they even offer you robes and a changing room so you don't get hair all over your shirt/suit/etc. Once you've changed (if you opt to do so) you're then guided to your station by the stylist you booked with. They have privacy sections so it feels like it's just the two of you, which is nice given that they offer a lot of personal care services that are best enjoyed while relaxing (I.e., Facials, close shaves, hot towels, etc.). One issue I had was that I did not receive the full service of their "Executive Haircut" and effectively got the same service as the "Classic Haircut" but paid $17 more. Not sure what that's all about but I've reached out to get the difference refunded and will update if I get a positive response. However, I enjoyed the haircut overall and think it's a worthwhile place to get cleaned up. read more

Showed up early for my grandson's appointment only to be told they had no record of it. This was after his mother had made double sure ahead of time that they did have it, since this was the second time they claimed they didn't know about it. They did have an opening an hour later, which we took, but this business clearly has technical problems they can't seem to fix. (I also had driven from Plano to take him to his appointment. Time before, his mother sent him via uber which was totally wasted money since he never got his hair cut. We are not going back here. read more

Keri, the master stylist was an absolute gem! After relocating to Dallas in January of this year, then being shutdown, I had no stylist. I had no clue how difficult it was to find someone! My hair dresser was Jamie, and as an Asian guy with a somewhat receding hairline, I am quite picky about who cuts my hair. I had a long day at work and decided to give this place a try, and damn it was worth the price. Service was exceptional; complimentary drink right when you walk in. I got a decent glass of wine, not just a small cup. Next, Jamie took the time to ask for what I wanted, and since I am blind without my glasses, we took multiple stops in between for a length check. In the end, I was amazed by how attentive to detail she was. The hot towel treatment and shampoo were both quite relaxing. She even gave me tips on how to take care of my cuticles. Note, this is pricier for a haircut compared to the usual 12-20$ places I would go to that just shampoos and cut. They do make you change into their robe, which I don't have a problem with but others might. Will definitely return! read more

I must say that I was surprised by the level of service here. Just moved to the Dallas area and I have only tried one other place (Floyd's 99 Barbershop - meh). My intention was to try a bunch of barbers in the area, but I intend to return for my next fade/cut. I was a walk-in, just after opening and I was able to get in with Rex. The cut might be a bit high for some - $39 (I think they vary by stylist), but they definitely make up for it with service. To avoid getting hair on your clothes they have this optional service where you can remove your outer shirt and replace it with a front opening cape. I tried it, usually I'm hesitant because those capes make me too warm. Once seated another traditional cape is draped over you - next time I will pass on first cape as I was too warm with both. *They also offer you a beverage of choice - they have complimentary beer on tap. Rex was very thorough and relaxed. He walked me to a semi-private chair - I appreciate the space and moderate privacy. I'm kind of spastic when I get my hairs cut, but he listened and wasn't overly chatty. I told him what I was going for and showed him a picture. My fro was getting a bit out of control so he took off some height and faded up the sides. Followed up with a wash and and touch-up to catch anything he missed. Then came the hot towel and conditioning treatment (tingly tea tree). Finished with a neck shave and he styled the hair with some recommended cream wax. I found street parking, but there is plenty of parking in West Village. They have the option to book appointments over the phone or online. They offer a variety of services in addition to hair: blade shaves, scalp/face treatments, nail treatments, waxing, & colouring services. They also offer an Executive Membership, a prepaid package that includes 7 cuts & 7 clean-ups plus 15% off all retail products. Compliments to Frank for a fantastic haircut. I highly recommend asking for him when you come in to this really classy joint. When you first come in they ask if you have an appointment and if so they check you in and ask if you would like a beverage (wine, beer, or water) all complimentary. They then guide you to the changing room where you hang your shirt up and switch into a robe (or you can remain in your outfit). From there you sip your bevvie of choice and then proceed to your cut, groom, or treatment. Frank worked with me on my second appointment and really took the time to understand what haircut I wanted out of that appointment and gave me a full experience by educating me on the different styles and talking me through the whole process. Normally I leave a haircut not knowing what the hell happened on my head and how I got there but this time Frank told me how to style it, how he was going to make the hair work, and what he would like to do next time if I was pleased with the cut. I was paying an expensive price and I was never really satisfied. However this place is different! I never post and don't like posting negativity, but this this location has at the last minute made me wait more than 30 minutes for haircut. Called in today for haircut appointment at 5 after I got here they told they can't take me until 5:30. On top of parking here sucks. For the price spend money elsewhere. After I posted this the staff told me they would have a stylist freed up in 3-4 minutes. Everything else was closed or closing so I decided to stay. Actually took 8 minutes (I timed it). They did a great job on the cut. They also comped the cut completely and the manager called afterwards to see if I was taken care of. I rarely rate below three stars, but this warrants it. First off, this salon is in a great location and it was extremely easy to schedule an appointment online. I showed up and the salon had a receptionist and my stylist, Alexis. That's it! Well the massage was great but the haircut seems to be a little below par. First, they don't use what I consider high end products and my hair was layered with pomade that would last for days. After a day later and a few washes, I found a section that the clippers got a little too close. Typically I don't pay attention but this time it's apparent. When I checked out I was given enough coupons for about 6 more haircuts which shows they are dying for business. Oh well, they won't have my business any longer. read more

Great experience, 5 stars ask for Whitney Wilson! 2 hours ago while at cookie cutter hair cut store, I had the worst hair cut of my life, my hair might as well have been cut by my kid nephew after being given a 2-liter coke to wash down a pile of pixie sticks! Needless to say I was a little upset... More accurately I was FUMING! I am an MBA candidate at SMU. I need to have a good, professional look and I was looking more like "look mommy I gave Barbie a hair cut!" I was stressed and a bit frantic. My girlfriend called my hair cut a "multi-dimensional bowl cut" and here is when I arrive at 18|8....first thing they did was hand me a beer :) I was then handed over to a very competent and polite stylist named Whitney Wilson (remember her name). She proceeded to talk to me about what happened and what we should do about. She came up with a plan of attack and executed perfectly. She even felt her clipper was off took it apart and tightened the screws (I have a high level of respect for knowing your tools and being able to maintain them properly and not just know when something is off but being able to fix it too) Whitney was able to cut my hair into a very solid and professional look that I am more than satisfied with. The service came with a shampoo, hot face towel, and she even cleaned up the back of my neck with a strait razor hot shave on the edges. I came in with the thought that I was going to struggle explaining what I wanted to do with my hair cause my last barber didn't understand me when I explained, but she understood right away. This is also the first time my hair has been cut dry and it makes you much more comfortable with the process cause you get to see your hair as it is, unlike how it is wet because in her words again "we don't wear our hair wet".
