She walked me through everything, made sure I felt comfortable and confident, and encouraged me to stick with growing my hair while helping me style it the way I want. I absolutely love this place and have been coming here for around 5 years or so now with the same stylist. Ferrara is amazing and she does a great job every single time! My only complaint is that it is getting more and more expensive to go there and it's hard to spend over $60 a haircut with everything going on now adays. read more

I have been driving from the west side of Cincinnati to this business for 7 years but after a couple of negative experiences, I won't be returning. 1818 has some talented stylists (Katriel is amazing!) but it is poorly managed. Recently, I tried to change my appointment from a Thursday to a Friday as Friday was more convenient for my drive across town. I was told by the receptionist that I would be billed a "no-show" charge equal to the cost of the haircut if I changed my appointment day. (And would have to pay for the haircut, obviously.) I refuse to support a business that doesn't realize that loyalty works both ways and refuses to be grateful for my business. read more

I feel like this place has gone down hill lately. I started visiting in 2018 and it was great. Clean and the service was quick. Lately I think the place has gotten dirtier, hair everywhere. I moved back to the area and have gone back twice over the past four months. Both times I had a different stylist. Both were very nice and did a good job. I've been satisfied with my haircut each time. The end product was fine. The prices are still steep. If I'm paying $45 for a haircut I want it to be a relaxing and clean experience. read more

Without a doubt the worst haircut I've ever received. Told them I had a wedding that afternoon and ask for a clean up - no changes, I'm growing out my hair. They proceeded to cut off 2-3 inches on top, complete shaved off my left side burn, left half of my right side burn and didn't touch the back so there's basically a mullet. The length is uneven. How does this happen?. The lack of inexperience and active listening skills by the "stylist" is unacceptable for $45 haircut. There's a reason I stopped coming here two years ago. I never been to Great Clips but I can only assume you get a better haircut for half the money. Just go to your local barber. Lost my membership and my business. read more

I feel fortunate that I found this place soon after moving here. Usually I try a few places before finally settling on one, but after my first two cuts here I'm here to stay! They have many stylists, I've only had my hair cut by Isabel and I plan to stick with her! She does a great job. She has a keen eye and both of my haircuts with her have been excellent! The vibe is also great. There are free drinks (beer too!) available while you wait in comfy chairs with a TV to watch. Their app is easy to use and I haven't had any issues scheduling appointments. Some other reviews mention their cancellation policy as too severe. They are very up front about the policy with reminders at the time of each booking, which I think is totally reasonable. Both of my visits they have been on time. Overall, highly recommend this place for a great cut! read more

After not needing the services of a stylist for many years, I found myself in search of one. I stumbled across 18/8, and even though it is not convenient to me geographically, I am glad I did. Lauren was randomly selected for me through the online scheduler, and I couldn't be happier! She got the cut right on my first visit without much direction from me. I'm not terribly picky, but let's be honest, we all are once we get home and it's been a few days. When people compliment your looks, how can you not just say "thank you" and then be so happy about meeting the person who did this for you. So thank you Lauren! Additionally, the entire staff from check-in to check-out has always been friendly, and always eager to offer a refreshing drink from their complimentary refrigerated selections. How nice! Lastly, I really appreciate the additional services that are available. Each time I'm in, I also schedule a quick facial. As someone with a busy schedule, it's nice to be forced to take the time to spoil yourself just a little bit, and to have it be so convenient that it actually saves me time to be able to get it all done at once. What a bonus! Plus, they don't send you off to a different provider in the facility. It's the same person who cuts and styles your hair! So that means Lauren and I get to spend more time finishing up on conversations. I always look forward to catching up with her every time I'm in. So, if you're looking for a spot, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend 18/8. Even if you just need something for a one-off ocassion like a wedding or a big job interview. But should you be seeking something more long term, definitely give this place a try. Nice to have a man's only place. They even give you craft beer. My haircut was very good. Pricing is on the higher side, 50 to 60 dollars, and 5 dollars for a quick massage and hot towel on your face. Wasn't worth the 5 dollars. Massage was like 10 seconds. Beats barber shops and great clips by a mile. read more

Yes, I'm usually a Parlour guy, but recently, it's been tough to get an appointment with Parlour that isn't three months away. I'd seen 18|8 before but wasn't sure to check them out until now... And I'll be honest, I'm certainly glad I did. I was able to schedule an appointment easily online, and didn't have to wait two or three months, just three days. The staff are all very friendly and inviting. Plus you can have a tasty beverage while you wait, including a local craft beer, which I instantly opted for. The place itself has a pretty laid back atmosphere. They still required masks when I went, but I believe that has since changed to no mask required if you're vaccinated. My hair stylist was Katriel, who was very nice, and did a great job on my frizzy mane. I really enjoyed the hot towel service too. The price was really nice too, less than what I'm used to. They offer more than just haircuts for guys though. They also do straight razor shaving, beard trimming, hair and beard coloring, grey blending, waxing, skin treatment, scalp treatment, and nail treatment. A fella gotta have nice nails too, right? I really liked my experience here and think I may go back again before my hair gets too crazy again. I'll definitely ask for Katriel again because she did such a great job and was a real pleasure to talk to. read more

Came here a couple of times on a new client special that featured two executive cuts. I added some additional services to give the place a shot to shine and show some breadth. On two separate experiences with the same exact hair cut and add on, I was blown away by the frank variability in the services received. The first time, I asked for a seasoned stylist that is appreciated by the clientele. Sure enough I get the so and so "is LOVED." The executive cut and scalp treatment was ok but I really wondered what I spent my money on for the scalp treatment. Turned out the stylist was brand new. The second time around, I played roulette again and asked for another stylist. Again, same hair cut and scalp treatment. Wow! Suddenly I felt like I was getting what I paid for. That experience alone was a four star experience! I shared my heterogeneic experience with the staff at 18|8, emphasizing not getting what I paid for. Seemed like my kind feedback went into one ear and through the other with an empty apology and not even a suggestion that they would provide feedback or train the first stylist on providing an appropriate service. I would emphasize that that staff are overall friendly and there are some drinks available while one is awaiting their cut. The general lack of understanding and lack of delivery on the first round just can't be ignored. Not being heard while spending a fair amount of money cannot be ignored. I'll probably shop around and find a place where consistency is present. read more
