A refreshing oasis in downtown Morristown, this is a fairly new establishment that fills an empty niche so stop in and get refreshed! The 1907 Brewing Company has 24 craft beers on tap, growlers available that you can buy and bring back for discounted refills and a wonderful atmosphere. It has the original tin ceiling and brick walls and yet has that modern industrial look about it. Plenty of seating with some couches and soft chairs, garage doors to the street and even a back alley entrance that reminds one of the days of speakeasies. Plenty of area parking, staff was friendly and beers were reasonably priced, cold and tasty. They routinely have live music and the facility is fairly large and open. Kid friendly as well. They do NOT offer food but sometimes there is a food truck handy and you can bring in food. Not having food is a big negative and 1907 is missing out on a lot of good revenue. Too bad. There is a second floor that is under construction that from what I was told, will be available for private parties. Nice.

Coming for the first time to celebrate a friend's birthday

This was my first time to this establishment in downtown Morristown and my friends and I had a blast! We went to just check it out before going some place else to celebrate my friend's birthday, but we ended up spending a few hours at 1907. They were having some extra activities that day for the German holiday, Maifest where they had raffle drawings, several contests with prizes, a German food truck and live music. It looks like they have live music and fun events throughout the year as well as some weekly events such as trivia nights. The bar was very stylish with nice wood floors, plenty of places to sit, and garage doors that were a great way to cool down the place on warmer evenings and when there are a lot of people. The drink menu had a lot of local drinks that included beers and ciders which was nice since I don't like beer and my friend is gluten free. I had the Sangria cider which was very tasty! There are three single person bathrooms that were very clean and stocked. There are tvs for people to watch sports and a rack of games people can sit around and play. There were also quite a number of kids of all ages (ranging from little ones in baby carriers to teenagers so kids are welcome and can find some games to play to also sit and enjoy live music when they have it). All in all, this establishment is a great addition to the downtown area to give people something fun and a great option for some place to go for night life.

This place has delicious cold beer , open on Sundays, and amazing friendly staff! We brought our dog Lucy and sat outside. We will be back. Cheers!

I've been hoping to find decent German food in Knoxville since I got here in '22…read more I finally made it to Schulz Bräu, and they did not disappoint. The food was tasty, the beer was excellent and the atmosphere even on a drizzly Saturday afternoon was nice. For full disclosure, I cannot say it was the best sauerbraten I've had...that would be Monica's at Schnitzel in Vidor, TX...but it was very tasty. And the prices surprised me in their reasonableness. I look forward to returning soon and trying a schnitzel.

Open open open. The Mad Co. Brew House is OPEN!…read more I was passing through here in October 2025 as I am making my way through all 100 of North Carolina's county courthouses. The Madison County Courthouse is temporarily closed due to the water damage but the structure is still standing. On my way back to where I parked, I spotted this place and stopped in. I bought a beer - not much in the way of support, but I am back on keto and not eating pizza no matter how awesome it smells/looks - and opted to write this review immediately. As I'm typing, another customer asked the beertender about the storm. He pointed to the piece of black tape marking high water line on the wall. It's about NINE FEET off the ground. I included a picture. The leaves up here are just about starting to change. If you're thinking of leaf peeping and heading through the North Carolina mountains, don't miss out on Mad Co. Brew House. Firstly, their Pilsner is excellent. Second, they need the support. [Review 1124 of 2025 - 4371 in North Carolina - 24677 overall]

We fell in love with the town of Marshall before Hurricane Helene, and that love hasn't…read morechanged--but the town certainly feels different now. The impact of Helene was profound, and it's hard not to feel the weight of that change. Given Marshall's long and rich history, we doubt anyone could have anticipated something so devastating. We believe this moment calls for reflection--gratitude for what we still have, and commitment to preserving the character and history of this special place for future generations. The town is slowly recovering, and we were thankful to be able to visit. Some businesses and buildings are clearly still struggling, while others appear nearly back to normal. While in town, we stopped for a bite at Mad Co. Brew House. Parking was easy and convenient on the street, and the open-air concept was inviting. Because of the heat, we opted to sit inside. Upon entering, the bar is immediately to the right--that's where you grab a menu and place your order. We picked up laminated menus, found a large table, and returned to the bar to order once we'd made our selections. After paying, we were given a vibrating coaster to alert us when our food was ready for pickup at the kitchen window. It's worth noting that tipping was prompted at the point of sale. We don't mind tipping--20% or more is typical for us--but it was frustrating to realize that, in this case, there was virtually no service. We placed our own orders, grabbed our own utensils, water, and napkins, and picked up our food when the pager buzzed. Additionally, multiple signs reminded customers to bus their own tables after dining. No one ever checked on us, and we struggled to find a clean table when we arrived. During our visit, we saw several employees either behind the bar or in the open concept kitchen, but none seemed to be sanitizing or tidying up, despite it not being particularly busy. We recognize that the community has endured a lot since the flooding, and our visit was, in part, a way to support local businesses. Still, basic service standards matter--and without improvement, we worry that some visitors may not return. That said, the food itself was excellent--easily a five-star experience. The setting, the charm of the location, and the overall potential of the place are solid. With a little more attention to cleanliness and service, this could be a true gem. For now, we're giving it three stars, hoping it was just an off night--and wishing the best for everyone continuing to rebuild in this resilient town.

Our pup travels everywhere with us, so finding these spots is important to us. It was very spacious too - so we weren't on top of other guests. They have an extensive menu and the same with the beer list. There is something for everyone, from hoppy IPAs to fruity sours. Not sure which beer you may like - get a sample. Or try a flight! For lunch, we got the deviled eggs to start - something that is a go-to for us. They were solid and enjoyable. For the main, we opted for the Abridged burger and the Chicken club. Both were solid as well. Fries were crispy, but a bit over-salted, and I enjoy some salt. So made a note for next time to "go light". Service was good too. Overall - really only a tiny detail to 'complain' about, but easily taken care of next time. We will be back for sure - I want to try their pizza!
