We entered through a speakeasy type door to the rear and were met with prohibition era style decorations. We were seated by one of the staff members in a comfortable couch and chair room with a television that was playing film noir classics. There is a bar room that has chair and tables, and a huge selection of bourbons and whiskies. When I say huge, I mean huge! Check the QR code on the menu photo that I posted. I had the traditional Sazerac, followed by the bacon old fashioned. Absolutely amazing taste. Well balanced and easy to drink. My friends went wild with other drinks and bourbon pours. All of the drinks were memorable.. The drinks here are affordable, however, if you have a thick wallet, you can spend it on some rare bourbons or whiskies, and there are a lot of them. Definitely a place to try out when you are in Bardstown. If you are a whiskey lover, this is one place to check out.

The bartender returned and my partner explained that we weren't sure what we wanted to order, that it was our first time in and asked if there was a menu we could view. The bartender responded with, ''no menus, it's easier that way''. I was taken back by not only the comment, but the tone of her voice (clearly not happy with our request). I turned to my boyfriend and said, let's go somewhere else! The speakeasy wasn't crowded, but, was part of the Elizabethtown St. Patrick's Day bar crawl. I don't believe that should have any effect on the regular menu or quality of service. We were disappointed with our experience (lack of) especially on such a special day. Their establishment is quant and timely as there is the tasting room and gift shop on site, along with an extremely small distillery which is now rarely used. They distill offsite nearby.
