I called 1st choice electrical as soon as they opened at 6am, there was a short on a light switch in my garage at approximately 10:45pm the evening before. An actual mini fire. We turned off the main breaker. The glare of the fire turned off. I choose 1st choice because of the awesome reviews. I am so glad I did. The 2 gentlemen that showed up were professional. Examined and then explained what had happened. Quoted me a reasonable charge and corrected the issue. I previously had just a basic flip light switch. On the day of our scheduled appointment I get an email from Ryan stating that his phone crashed and he lost his calendar and wanted to confirm our appointment. I replied to the email and when Ryan didn't respond I texted him asking if he received my email, to which he replied that he didn't. He then begins to tell me because I didn't confirm he filled his schedule and can no longer do the work. This is not how you do business. I understand the field is competitive and we can always get someone else and he can always get other customers, but that's not the mindset anyone should have that's running a business. His crash was not our fault and why would we have looked for an email confirming our appointment when we had been communicating via text? He was rude and acted as if he didn't need or want our business so we're taking it elsewhere. Reese arrived ahead of schedule and was very thorough. Horrible Customer Service and Communication! This rating is based solely on customer service and communication. I never got the chance to actually use the his service. My quick story starts like this: I need some repairs done to my home. I looked on Yelp (as I always do) for someone with a 5 star rating. I found this company. I sent a message asking for a an estimate. I received a message back stating the estimate is free and they would be down to do a walk through the next day. Well, they never showed up. I sent messages and nothing. Then a few hours later I get a message saying he was tied up and could not call or message me. So ask ask when he could come do the estimate. He then tells me it's $75 bucks. It's not the fact that I'm being charged, I feel it's fair to pay something for an estimate. However it's not good to cut communication and not showing up. I had requested that day off just to get the estimate done and hopes of him doing the work that day. It was a waste of time and money. This company has 5 Stars, they may be great at what they do. But as for customer service, communication and ethics - they are lousy. They also don't stand behind their word. read more
