The motorhome was very very fresh, clean and new and ran very well - especially up the Cajon Pass. . . was able to keep up with the cars and pass all the trucks in the slow lane which go 15 mph along with the over loaded and underpowered motorhomes. The 1st Choice motorhome was definitely not underpowered. Everything worked beautifully on the motorhome - no complaints, no problems and Lupita was very nice on checking out and in and helpful. First time renting from 1st Choice RV. I looked at other places and they had standard and boring options with advertisements for their business painted all over it, 1st Choice has straight up cool RVs. The one I ended up renting from them had a TV on the OUTSIDE, a slide out, it was cool and comfortable, and everything just worked. They had great support for the entire rental process. Alex was my point of contact for pickup, drop off, and stupid questions. He walked me through everything with the RV, was very patient, and got me started. When I arrived at the campsite I couldn't get the slide out to work. It was because I had the motor running. I called him, he answered and patiently reminded me to shut off the motor first (he had told me that in our check in and I forgot). Same thing when I couldn't figure out how to turn on the oven. He always answered even when it was dinner time and got me going right away. The return process was quick and easy. I don't want a "rental" RV, but don't want to pay the CRAZY cost of ownership considering how little I would get to actually use it. I figure I could probably rent from them 4-6 weeks a year and it would be less than ownership, and they do all the maintenance, clean it, and most importantly pump the poop out of the bathroom storage tanks for you! It was our family's first time ever renting and driving an RV. We rented Mickey for our family of 3 and it was perfect! We took it out to the Parker Strip and set up was super easy. Marysol taught us how to use the RV and gave us a lot of confidence. Joey in the office was very easy to do business with. We will definitely be return-customers. Expedition Motor Homes/1st Choice RV- STAY AWAY They are complete frauds! This company will lie and steel your security deposit and say the damages on the RV were your fault even though the damages were there and acknowledged on pre-inspection before we left the lot. Everything seemed fine at first, we were quoted $1200 for a two trip for a 39 ft Discovery rental. This was for a father/son camping trip to Big Rock Creek on October 18th. When we arrived at the lot and took photos of the vehicle we specifically pointed out the scratches on the side doors of the vehicle which Lupita Palomera explained to us were from a previous rental where the customer had tried to open the side door and the pop up at the same time causing the damage to the doors. Lupita and Martin Onken (the manager) also took pictures of the same scratches and noted them on the pre-inspection report. Also, Lupita had explained that there had been issues with the front Jacks pulling up. We were advised to push a couple of buttons to reset the jacks and they should work just fine. We decided to take several pictures of the jacks as well as the interior and exterior portions of the vehicle just to make sure there would be no issues when we returned the vehicle. We signed the contract with a quote of $1200 and a $3500 deposit just in case. We noticed the contract also stated we would be paying $75 for pick up and return ($150 total), $52.75 "Processing fee" for using our credit card, $15 for a "Credit Report" (?) and $179 "Cleaning Fee" which included waste removal. We also made the decision to pay for MBA Insurance which would cover us in case of an accident or damage to the vehicle with a $2000.00 deductible. We drove off the lot and onto the freeway a loud beeping noise came on indicating that the jacks were down! We immediately called and spoke to Lupita who instructed us to push a few more buttons and all would be fine and after about 15 minutes of the alarm sounding all was fine. We had a great time that weekend, 2 dads and our 2 boys and returned the vehicle on 10/20- a few hours early. Lupita received the RV and said the vehicle was in perfect condition as we had meticulously, emptied the waste and filled it up with a full tank of gas. On 10/23 we noticed two charges on our credit cards, one for $1317.75 and another for $3800!! We contacted Lupita right away who had done the final inspection on the RV (3 days later) and she was now trying to hold us responsible for the SAME EXACT SCRATCHES that were there when we picked up the RV as well as the JACKS! The scratches and the jacks we had discussed at pickup and struggled with in the beginning of our trip! Now, Lupita will only respond to us by email! They charged us for the "Cleaning Fee" even though the final inspection report states that the RV was cleaned and waste was removed. No one will call us back and now we are left with emails from Lupita completely contradicting herself! I am now working with my credit card company to file a chargeback on both transactions, filing with the BBB and the Attorney Generals office. I will not allow these crooks to get away with this nonsense! They are stealing the deposit to get us to pay for damages that were all ready there! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! LUPITA PALOMERA AND MARTIN ONKEN ARE LIARS AND THIEVES!!!! read more

Excellent Experience all around! The quality of the rental was pristine - had only been out 4 times. Being a 1st time RV renter I was rather tepid about taking on the responsibility, however, Joey (Point of Contact on Rental Day) was very patience and thorough with me to explain how all the systems work - he spend a full hour with me and didn't have a rushed agenda. Prior to our rental My wife and I originally secured a reservation at Cruise America(CA) and had immediate remorse after walking off the lot. We ended up canceling with CA and choosing 1st Choice. The different in price from 1st Choice vs. CA was $200, which would have surfaced at the end with all the extra fee's CA tacks on. At the end of the trip I received my full deposit back. I absolutely recommend and will be using 1st Choice RV for future RV rentals - Happy Camper! read more

Recently rented a 25 foot class C for a trip to Sequoia. Great staff and very well kept newer model RV's. Reasonably priced for what you get. You may find cheaper rentals from private parties, but it will be hit and miss on quality and cleanliness. 1st Choice will be at the top of our list the next time we hit the road. read more

We rented for Stagecoach 2016 and had a great experience with 1st Choice. The RV itself was extremely clean and had all of the extra amenities we had ordered. Our contact, Joey, was extremely responsive and professional. From booking all the way through drop-off our experience was seamless. The customer service was top notch. At 9am on Saturday of the festival, Joey promptly responded to a text I sent with a question about operating the RV. Considering it was his birthday weekend and that he was also attending Stagecoach, I was extremely surprised to hear back so quickly. They are simply the best! This is the second time we have used them. From renting the RV to returning it, they make it as simple as possible. We easily made the reservation online. We purchased a new grub kit, paid for bedding and towels, beach chairs, bike rack, and a picnic table. Everything is clean and in tip top shape. They have great customer service. If I needed them during the trip, they gave me a phone number to call. I didn't need them as they left directions and provided everything we had paid for. This year due to circumstances, we had to have the RV dropped off at the RV site. Upon arrival, the TVs were on, the air conditioner was on, the refrigerator was nice and cold, and it was super clean! I will be using them as long as continue to RV! read more

I completely agree with the other review who said this company is a fraud! At first, they work with you calmly, give you all the details and then after you've spent all this time with them, they mention the $750 deposit. But, the real problem is that they don't give you all the deposit back, claiming that there were damages. There was absolutely nothing damaged at all when we returned the RV. It is a total lie. The other fraud part is, before you sign, they have this video to let you see the RV, but when you rent it, it is a total dump! The beds were so uncomfortable, and nothing was updated. I would never recommend them at all! They will steal your money. read more

Rented a 33 foot Coachmen RV for a camping trip. The rental was very clean and still had that new RV smell. RV worked great for the trip, drove like a dream and made for a fantastic experience. The process of reserving and picking up the RV was very easy. The employees were all very friendly, especially Ilda. Also free parking next to the Calabasas location so you can leave your car there. They also have very helpful videos on their website on how to use the RV for those who are novices, or if you just need some friendly reminders on how to drive and operate an RV safely.
