I rented a small Honda SUV, it was dirty on the inside. I took it to the car wash & cleaned it better than I received It Upon the return. I returned it a little late; although, it was before his next service. Sam said it was ok, no charge on the late fee. Few hours later - I was charged another day after I dropped the vehicle off Already. Motorhome heater did not work. Motorhome battery would not hold a charge and was dead when I picked up the motorhome and the service agent said it was fine but it was not fine. I ended up having to use the generator more because of the batteries resulting in more generator fees. Also there was a water leak in the storage area where the spare tire is that got my gear and equipment wet. The folding table in the storage area was covered in some sticky substance and was unusable. Service agent told me to be back by 12:00pm. I was back before 12:00pm but the agent decided to help a customer that arrived after me. Then by the time the agent checked my motorhome back in it was after 12pm and he said I have to pay a fee and argued with me about it. Eventually a few days later they refunded me the extra fee which should not have been charged in the first place. This is bad customer service along with improperly maintained equipment. read more

We used this company for an RV rental up the coast to Big Sur and back and had a seamless experience. Juan was very knowledgeable and professional and we even got a 15% discount on miles from an e-mail I received, so make sure you opt in for the e-mails. Will definitely be returning for our next trip and recommended to my family as well. Only thing I will mention is that they say Home Depot is able to refill the propane and I went to two different locations and both said that they could not. Maybe they used to be able to, but make sure you find a gas station or different source to fill it up. Lowe's does not offer the service either. I had a reset Igor a Penske truck. Apparently the location was at a small one man office location in a suite of offices off of Birch and Mac Arthur. But there was an out of date directory, no Penske trucks in sight, no one answered at the office for Nagashi Inc. and come to find out this online reservation was lined up as a One Way out of state. WHICH WAS INCORRECT, I ended up reaching ABC RENTALS which not only answered the phone the guys was extremely patient to listen to me try to explain what was happening. I don't know about you , but these days most people want nothing to do with your problems. These gentleman said they had a rental of exact size they needed and could get me going asap. I got there in less than 10 minute and was very relieved and glad to have come to this little tiny location in my backyard and got the full on friendliest treatment. Dear Cruise America: You rented us a vehicle (July 2023) with 8 bad spark plugs and a refrigerator that stopped working one day after we rented it, due to a corroded part. We learned this from the mechanic you assigned us to when we insisted the vehicle wasn't safe to drive 500 miles in the 110 degree desert heat. We couldn't drive it over 60mph without the engine sounding terrible. We lost 2 days of our trip while we waited for the rv to get fixed. It would have been 1 day in the shop if it didn't take Cruise America 4 hours to approve the repairs. The help desk said you'd reimburse us $50 for a cooler and $28 per day for ice. That's good. But when we returned the RV, we were told to return the cooler as well. It's your policy. Your policies suck. Makes no sense. The dealer said we can call Cruise America to lodge a complaint. When we did, we were told we can't talk to anyone to resolve this because we already turned in the RV. We hoped to talk it out, negotiate 2 days rental reimbursement and the $50 for cooler. Instead we had to send an email, wait 2 weeks for a reply, and I still don't see any reimbursement. The email reply agreed to 2 day rental and cooler reimbursement. We signed the form. It's been over a week and no reply or reimbursement. Also the couch had bad springs, sagged on one end. I give 2 stars because the 24hr hotline did respond and help us each time we called while on the road. The other beds were comfy and it was clean. Once repaired, the engine ran great and fridge worked. Also, charging per hour of generator time is unsafe and a rip off when you need cool air during a heat wave. On top of that, I'm responsible for filling up the propane tank (which I agree with) but charging us per hour to use it is BS. We managed to salvage a nice trip despite all this because we are positive people. But I won't be renting from you again. read more

Check in was quick, they gave a detailed explanation of how to use the RV and suggestions on where to refill the propane when we were ready to return the vehicle, which was super helpful as this was something I've never done before--it made the return of the vehicle easy and stress free. This is the local Costa Mesa office of Cruise America, which shares a facility with ABC Rent A Car. We recently rented an RV for three days. We cleaned the RV from top to bottom before returning it, even mopping the floor when it clearly had not been done in a LONG time. Yet we were charged $50.00 cleaning fee for dog hair. And there was not ONE dog hair in sight - the man behind the counter could not even point out any dog hair. The RV was immaculate. So they get 1 star for the nice RV, but lose four stars for being dishonest and overcharging just to get the customers' money. This was our first time renting a giant RV. This is August 2020. The pandemic is in full swing. We needed a family vacation and we needed safety. So we booked 2 nights in Zion and used a previously made reservation in Yosemite to get away. The idea was daunting. Drive a 30 foot long behemoth into our national parks. Hook them up, dump the yucky stuff. Cut to the chase. It worked! The vehicle was solid. The comfort level was on par with what you would expect. The amenities were all there. The bathroom, the shower, the kitchen. We felt safe. Juan Ceja, the manager of ABC rentals was very helpful. And in the end he took care of our needs. We learned a lot about RV camping and we will do things a bit differently next time. But we will rent from him again. I will say that Cruise America, who led us to ABC is ubiquitous with rv rentals and they are located all over the place. So when we left the lot to embark on our journey i realized that I forgot to ask Juan to unlock the trailer hitch bolt so that we could attach our bike rack. I quickly looked up a cruise America branch closer to my current location and called to ask if they could remove it. Yes they did. No problems. Off we went. Enjoy and be safe!! read more

The RV was outsourced to ABC Rentals in Costa Mesa, CA. The owner there was short and rude, hung up on when I called to ask a few questions. The RV had a terrible ant infestation that made our trip miserable. The couches, curtains and bed smelled like cigarettes. Two windows were missing screens, which was horrible because it was a heat-wave week and we couldn't open the windows.When I brought all this up with the manager at ABC Rental he just said he can't do anything about it, verbatim. The online booking was straightforward and easy, we called them a few times and our calls were always picked up and handled quickly. Our RV was exactly as described online, we received it clean and almost everything working. We had issues on all the outlets except for one, explained that we were unable to contact them directly as we had no service, and the staff in Costa Mesa were able to discount us for the inconvenience. We rented a standard (25 foot?) RV and have never rented or driven one before, so we were a bit nervous, especially with all the switches and plumbing etc. We dealt with two guys at this location and were very impressed by the level of customer service we received. The employees spent as much time as we needed to get educated on all the bells and whistles, and what to do and not to do. I felt like they were patient and willing to explain any question I had. We drove the RV from SoCal up to the coastal redwood forests near Santa Cruz and the vehicle performed very well, even over the Grapevine (take it nice and slow... limit air conditioning on the uphills). Again, the biggest win for us was the courtesy of the employees and the patience they showed in taking the time to make sure we had all of our questions answered. Its a big deal taking an RV on a vacation if you'd never done so before, and starting the trip out with angry employees would have put us in a bad mood, but because they were so nice, it was a great experience. Finally, we returned the RV after cleaning, dumping and refueling. The employee (I forget his name), took his time checking everything, but we were not nickeled and dimed for anything. Again, great customer service. I'm sure that if you did not respect the spirit of returning the vehicle in as nice or better condition, you may face a charge... but that is up to you. Honestly, I can't imagine them changing anything in the process that would make it better. I have used ABC to rent cargo vans for business and have had nothing but great service. I haven't rented an RV but I have always been happy with the vans and service I received. Tip: Call ahead in advance and deal direct with them. I think the problem is when dealing with third party rentals. I have been able to arrange early pick ups and most rental companies put a hold on your cc. Uhaul is a good short option but if you have it for more than a day it becomes very expensive. read more

Poorly managed facility that employs unethical business practices. I would suggest looking for an RV rental on Craigslist from an owner or most of the RV dealerships provide rentals. This place will charge you for cleaning even if you clean the RV so don't bother. They charged me for 1/4 tank of propane although we didn't even use any they claimed it was below the 3/4 mark. The dial read barely below 3/4 on the gauge when we returned it. Their RV's are very dirty, SMELLY, and uncomfortable. read more

I called ABC rent a car after i was involved in car accident and spoke to David, he is the owner and about my situation and 1 hour later they delivered a nice 2012 Toyota Camry to my door step! They work with my insurance co for the payment arrangement and just made everything so easy. I used to be a regular customer here (I have been renting vans from them for 5+ years) but slowly over time the customer service has gotten worse, especially when you use their sister company Dollar Rent a Car in Anaheim. (Inside a hotel near Disneyland) The guy I used to work with was always so great, don't remember his name but he was awesome. I would call and mention that I was with my company (we rent a lot of 15 passenger vans for trips) and he would get me whatever I needed when I needed it. Then one day I needed to pick up the rental on a Sunday which is when their Costa Mesa location is closed so they directed me to their sister company in Anaheim - that is where everything went down hill. I arrived to pick up my rental and the lady - Sally (very rude), told me I needed my insurance card. I rent using my company so I don't carry their insurance cards on hand and when I made the reservation I was never instructed that I would need to bring this. And from my previous rentals I had never had to show my insurance, I would either pay for the insurance they offered or decline it. Also I have to mention I was renting on a Sunday morning so of course my office was not open for me to get said insurance information. It made for a very stressful beginning to my trip. That was the last time I used them and hoped to never need to work with their Anaheim office again, today I went to make a rental reservation and called the Costa Mesa office who told me the guy who rents the 15 passengers is working at their other office so I needed to call them. I knew right away I was connected to their Anaheim office as soon as the guy started telling me that I would have to put a deposit on my card (in the past it was a 72 hour cancellation policy) and that the rental price for a 5 day vs. a 7 day was the same. I had, had enough! I just have to end this with saying they have lost my business and I will be taking my van rentals to someone else, I am done going through the ringer with this company. And I feel really bad for the original guy I used to work with, he was awesome! read more
