I spent $555.00 for a major tune-up. I had ' tire pressure low' light on my dashboard and…read more'maintenance due soon' alerts. I get called while they're working in the car to ask if I want an oil change as well, it would cost an additional $75.00 plus. I refused as I asked 5 people in my office and consulted Kelly Blue Book website, all of who said oil change should be part of a major tune-up. I got the car, they did not check the tire pressure and left that light on. They did not fill windshield wiper fluid. They basically changed spark plugs, air and cabin filters, PCV valve, and that was it. ALSO note they advised me to change the spark plugs and their advice was unnecessary and self-serving. I did not request that service, I went in and requested a tune-up. Now, I still need to finish getting the car serviced but at a different garage as I will not return to Millers Corners Garage. 4/8/2023 Update: Went to Lia Honda who charged me $155.00 including tax for 5000 mile maintenance and to change oil and rotate tires, change fluids, etc... They said they were "very sorry" when I showed them the invoice from Millers Corners Garage. They said that you only change spark plugs and do a valve adjust after 100k miles. My car has under 18,500 miles. Millers Corners tole me I needed to change the spark plugs and do a valve adjust. That was untrue. Three techs of Lia Honda looked at the Millers Corners invoice and shook their heads, saying sorry to me. They all said it looks like I was cheated.

Honest, knowledgeable, skilled, personable, and communicative. I used to take my car to the dealer…read morebut no more! The dealer told me I needed to replace a caliper and (basically brand new) brake. I took my car here for a second opinion where they explained why the caliper might be leaking, how it might be affecting the brake, and under what circumstances the brake would have to be replaced. They updated me every step of the way and were able to replace the caliper and avoiding replacing my nearly new brake. I really appreciated that they took the time to check in with me when they looked at the car, when the part came in, and when the work was completed. I don't know much, if anything, about cars but I really appreciated it when they explained everything in great detail so I can better understand what's happening with my own car. Also, it's a little thing, but every time I've interacted with anyone at this garage, they called me by my name and even remembered my partner's name when he went to pick up my car for me. I'm definitely coming here for all my car service from now on.

I love this repair shop! Highly recommend. Wish I could leave 6 stars…read more Derek = the best. Always so accommodating. Is willing to do something quick for you even if it means he gets stuck past closing hours. Work is always of a high quality. Friendly. And he's honest and is good at managing customer expectations. The mechanics that work under Derek are courteous and do great work. I've never had a bad experience with them. Great reputation across the capital district and its duly deserved. Note: dropping by in person seems to be the best way to set up an appointment. Not by phone.

Took my car to capital tech for a leaking water pump. James did this work on his own time which…read moreinvolved changing the water pump as well as the timing chains and tensioners. About 2 weeks later the car developed an oil leak from the area of the crankshaft seal and or the timing cover as well as the front valve cover gasket, all of which he had to change. I paid James 900 dollars cash and I supplied the parts needed to do the job. Now after 2 weeks of text messages and 2 or 3 phone calls to my place of employment, James said he has not forgot about me. I have now taken the vehicle to another mechanic for the repairs. This review is not about Capital Tech itself but the mechanic. I am expecting these repairs to cost another 300 to 500 dollars on top of the almost 1600 parts and labor already spent. This post from a dissatisfied customer who is retired but work a part time job Sincerely Larry Ellis
