Just stopped by Big O Tires on Nicholasville Road and if I could give 10 stars, I would. Having received an engine code scan elsewhere, it was suggested for me to go here. First, they were courteous, professional, and friendly. Second, they listened to my concerns and were able to look at my car immediately. Found the issue, spoke with me about their findings, and fixed the minor issue in record time. I was in and out in about 20 minutes total. The level of service was top notch and I'm more than pleased with my experience there. I will now always take my car to Big O Tires whenever I need service. Big O tires put the wrong sized rotors and pads on my car. Wayne at Quality first Auto noticed it instantly when I took the car in for a wheel bearing. You can clearly see that the pads overlap the rotor, which is causing cracking and uneven wear. He sent me back to Big O, and the manager took the car in for inspection and then insisted that they put the correct parts on. Paying $450 for new pads and rotors to fix Big O's mistake sucks. I suppose this is a life lesson to just take the car to a real mechanic. read more

Went in for an oil change after receiving a flyer for a $29.99 synthetic blend oil change. Upon arrival, I was told that my car requires 0w-20 oil, and that the full synthetic oil change was 109 or something like that. I agreed because i want to use the correct grade of oil for my car. I got a call a couple of hours later saying that the filter housing was stuck and that they would not be able to replace the filter without breaking the housing and replacing it with a better quality housing. They quoted me $65 dollars for a new housing, and the new total would be $265 dollars. I questioned them as to why it would be $100 dollars more than the cost of the part that they were going to break on my car. They claimed additional labor was required... to remove a part that was part of the normal oil change. We went back and forth on the phone, I went to pick up the car. I walked them though the steps of changing the oil. including replacing the oil filter housing O-rings. They agreed that that was how it was done. They lied to me stating that they opened the hood before the car was on the lift to change the oil filter, people of the internet, The filter is on the bottom of the engine. It was either a cash grab, or incompetency. but I don't appreciate being lied to. I ended up taking my car elsewhere. Avoid the Lowery road location at least. read more

Zero stars. I called this shop over an hour before they were to close. Spoke with Jovan. My college student was traveling north and in the area and had a low pressure notification. I asked if they could help him and he said they could. So he drove out of his way to get there and waited an hour. They took his keys as soon as he got there and said they'd help him. Then after an hour gave him back his keys and said go find someplace else. Worst people on the planet. Never go here! Shame on all of you! read more

This would be a 0 if I could. I made an appt on Thursday to have my tires replaced on Saturday. Picked out the tires online I wanted etc and the appt was confirmed. Get there at 8 am on Saturday and told them I would be waiting. 9:30 rolls around, they took my car into the bay for about 15 minutes with the hood up and then parked it back outside. So I go to check on what is happening and the girl at the counter asks is anyone talked to me about my tires. Well it turns out, these people hadn't even ordered the things. The manager then proceeds to tell me that I didnt order tires. Why on earth would I schedule an appt to have tires replaced if I don't want tires????? I am not their inventory manager and ordering their inventory is not my job. DO NOT do business with these people. I was told by several people that they like to waste your time, and this is what I get for not listening. Their corporate office are not open on the weekend, but I have saved that phone number in my contacts and rest assured I will definitely be giving them a call Monday. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. I took my Ram 2500 here to get tires mounted, balanced and aligned. Paid $250 for this and instantly knew something was wrong when I left. Got on the highway and it was vibrating and pulling hard to the left. Brought the truck back and they told me my "ball joints were bad". Quoted me $2300 to replace. This truck has 50k miles on it and nothing was wrong before I brought the truck there. Took it to Tire Discounters and after, it drove like a dream. Tire Discounters told me the truck was misaligned and the tires not balanced correctly. Went back to Big O five times over two weeks before I could talk to a manager. Finally Terrence told me they don't do refunds and after arguing with him he gave me $90 back out of the $260. So I ended up spending $170 at big O and $150 at tire discounters to get the truck correctly balanced and aligned. Bottom line these guys are idiots and will try to take advantage of people that don't know about vehicle maintenance. Do not trust them or take your vehicle to get serviced there. read more

Went in for an oil change, they asked if I wanted the Fluids serviced and I said yeah, top it off thinking they would check the fluid levels. 3 hrs later I get my car back and a bill for $700. My husband and I have used Big O Tires several times throughout the years when we've experienced minor car troubles- the most recent time being finding a screw in one of my tires. We brought in the car at 4:45 thinking that it would at least need to be there overnight since they close at 6, but they were able to fix the tire that same afternoon! All the people who work there have been helpful and I feel that the prices are fair. My husband has had them change is tires and brakes and was happy with their work. It's never fun to have car trouble but it's reassuring to know you've brought your car to the right place when you do. read more

I've been going to this location for years and for good reason! They know what they're doing and they provide great customer service! Case in point: I bought a new set of tires last week in preparation for a 1000 mile road trip to Raleigh and back. This morning, two days after my return, I noticed that one of my tires was about half flat. I drove immediately to Big O to get it checked out. They discovered that I had picked up a nail somewhere along the trip. They not only made the repair in less than an hour, they charged me nothing for the fix! Much appreciated guys! I went to big O on Lowry Lane in Lexington to get a wheel alignment before I had new tires installed, they supposedly did the wheel alignment, but when I drove off, my steering wheel was not centered. I took it back in so they can fix the steering wheel. They proceeded to tell me they couldn't align my wheels because the inner and outer tie rods on both sides had seized up. I asked them if they were seized up how did they Align my wheels the previous night? They said they attempted to align them, but they couldn't because of the rods. I asked then why did you charge me for an alignment you didn't do? If I hadn't said anything, I would have paid for an alignment that did not get done. I have to take it to another shop to check and make sure my rods are in fact seized up before I do another alignment. This shop acted in bad faith by charging me for something they did not do. Of course I will get a free alignment and I made sure they documented that in the paperwork. read more

They installed the wrong tires and tried to upsell me for everything . Needed a brake job on front of car which I also got 2 new tires for . They did a brake job in the rear even though from the grinding sound in the front that was where I need brake service. Wanted me to pay them another 600 dollars for subtandard service. read more

Went here today for an oil change. Took 2 hours before they were done with my car and I could leave. I had made an appointment for 7am the day before but when I got there at 7 I was told they wouldn't be able to start working on my car until 7:30. Why was I able to make an appointment for a 7am oil change then?? Over an hour after I got there I was told they needed to order a part to be able to finish my oil change. That took more than 45 minutes. Why did they not see that part and order it when they first took my car back and started the oil change? Never going back. Today sucked. Really annoyed. read more

For the Lowry Lane store in Lex. KY. I have patronized this store for oil changes and to check my tires-exclusively, for several years. Have stopped in before when my tire sensors show low air, and they have graciously had an employee check my tires and I am on my way in 3 minutes. A week or so ago, went in to do the same, have them check the tires because the low air indicator light had come on. Also, wanted to have them check the antifreeze level because it was going to dip into the 30's and I wanted to be ready. They have done this before without a big deal. No paperwork, easy peazy. Just pull around to the garage, guy fills tire if needed and pops hood to check radiator fluid level. Have never been asked to have car put on lift just to check antifreeze. Might have been a new employee, but he did a full monty ask for info and then said I should give him the key fob. Nah, just need a tire ck and fluid look see. He said they had to put car on lift to do that. Think I am going to find someplace that does it the old fashioned way, by opening the hood and taking the cap off the radiator and visually looking. Putting it on the lift gives them license to do all sorts of other investigations I did not want nor have time for and upselling me is a HUGE turnoff, favorite one is the need for new brakes or this or that filter. I gave them 2 stars because in the past the employees have been great and more knowledgeable than the one I encountered. read more

Went to have my tire fixed. They "worked" on it for 2 hours and finally said it was done. When I started the car it said my tire had 0 psi. I came back in and told them and they said oh he repaired one of the other tires. As if I had 2 flat tires. Ridiculous. read more

I came here for an oil change since NTB got taken over by this company. This was my second time coming and I'm still going to come here as the service was quick and courteous. I was greeted outside by Michael who deals with the invoice and customer service. He quickly assessed my situation and told me a time frame on waiting. I ended up getting an oil change, tire rotation, wheel alignment as well as a new air filter. I'm very thankful for this place as I don't feel like I get taken advantage of as some other mechanic shops can come across. Plus they have specials for oil changes and you can find their coupons in their website. I will definitely be back in 5 thousand miles ;) read more

bad customer service, with a Lexington Ky employee from big O tires, they did the alignment for me, and my steering wheel was not straight, I left my truck again at the big O tires shop, the next day they called me and told me that they couldn't fix my alignment, I told them that wasn't the problem, it was just the steering wheel that wasn't straight, they said there's nothing we can do, your tires were too big, you have to buy new ones. tires to solve the problem, I tried to explain it to him in person. When I went to the store to pick up my truck and the employee just ignored what I was saying, I didn't want to ruin my day so I called Big O Tires in Georgetown to see if anyone could help me, his name was Justin I. I think he immediately said don't worried we can help you and fix your problem and he apologized for the bad service in Lexington, good news and bad news, I had to go to Georgetown to fix my problem, but I want to said thank Justin and his mechanics for fixing my problem, I hope. Had the best service from the professionals at Big O Tires. Took my car in for slow leak in one of the tires. They could not find problem from visual inspection and also from water inspection. Rather than dismissing my concern, he went the extra step and felt all around the inside of the tire. Found a small finishing nail. Problem solved. I initially went to a different place to have my car looked at for any repairs needed and then went to Big O for a second opinion. As a woman I always worry about being deceived by mechanics and what I really need to fix but the mechanics at Big O explained exactly what I needed and looked over things from the first place and informed me I did not need those things. [[-*Originally Sept 2019, I noted: "at no charge based on the Big O philosophy to repair leaks or flats for the chance to win your business (imho)." -*Update 10/24/19: this turned out to be my misunderstanding, as I found out when the Sept TPS tire (repair noted) had to be remounted due to leaks from rim corrosion, I was charged after being asked if I bought the tires there, so I think I assumed incorrectly, they normally repair tires that were not installed at their location. Sorry for my error. * I still believe they do good work. I changed the rating from 5 to 4, as I rate them better than some experiences I have encountered at a number of other shops. ___End updt 10/24/19.]] And (originally) ...When my TPS sys reported a malfunction, I went right over to their shop, explained my need, and was back on the road in less than an hour! We went to NTB for oil changes in the past before my husband started changing our oil himself. We didn't even realize that this was formerly NTB until we stopped by here today for tires. I ran over a rather large screw and we decided to get a new set of tires. When we dropped the car off we told them we wanted to keep the older tires because the other three were still in good shape. We were extremely happy with the price and service. The reason why I'm taking 1 star off is because they kept trying to sell us something. First am oil change (husband does that) then breaks (husband also changes). Understandable, they're trying to make money. We would recommend Big O for all tire needs. :) read more

I would say my experience there was OK. I came here to get a set of tires. They didn't have the tires that I wanted that I was gonna price match so I did spend more then what I planned. Then, my u clue who goes here regularly said that they do a free alignment with a purchase of a set of tires but they do not. They told me my alignment was off and they offered me a "discount" on a year year plan and I took it but then later found out from my husband that they actually charged me more than what it says online. I called them back to ask about that and they said that it must be a coupon I have to print and bring in but that they don't keep up with their website sales. They said once I left they couldn't honor it but that they would give me a free oil change. So I went back in a few days later bc the mechanics forgot to seal a tire and I lost air in one and they gave me the oil change but they did TRY to charge me for that. I obviously didn't pay as I really didn't need an oil change at that time anyways. Regardless, it was an OK experience. read more

Decided to take my car here for an oil change since they had a coupon for the $9.95 oil change, 22 point inspection, and a tire rotation. Customer service was courteous and this was definitely my first time. Everything went well and I have to say that I am a bit paranoid when I go to new mechanics. I literally have to know everything done to the vehicle; but I am not so nit picky that I have to stand over them. While I was there, the mechanic had told the invoice rep that I needed to change my air filter. I quickly looked up how often it needed to be changed and I saw that it was about 30,000 miles or so. The one I had, did look a bit dirty and my car has about 70,000 miles on it. I am not sure when the last time it was changed was. It was also noted that there are scams about mechanics changing out air filters, while doing an oil change. I kind of weighed it and gave the go ahead. "I might as well". With everything done, it was about $36.18 and I went in for the $9.95 oil change. I am sure they would have added tax, so around $11.00. I certainly do think I could have saved myself the money to do the air filter, by doing it myself, like everyone should, because I popped my hood when I got home. Also, I managed to recheck the oil to make sure everything was clean. Man, I felt like Vin Diesel from The Fast and the Furious, when I figured out how to do the air filter part (yeah....I am an ordinary mechanic); however, I guess it needed to be done. It just goes to show you how fast the price can jump, $21.48, for a new air filter. These guys do what they say and spending $7.00 more than what the original oil change would have cost $29.99, it's not a big deal. I have to take care of the vehicle. read more

Took my car here for pre-purchased tires to be put on and an alignment. Called half way through the day to say that they couldn't get the tires on and could only do the alignment. I told them to go ahead with the alignment. Picked the car up and they tried to charge me for a tire adjustment. Then left the place and the alignment had not even been done. Took it somewhere else and had to pay again. They thankfully refunded me, but it worries me that they are taking advantage of others by charging for services that aren't being done at all. read more

Ordered tires early in the week and set appointment for early saturday morning. Drove 45 minutes in to find my tires had been sold. Offered inferior or more expensive options. Seriously the best customer service I've ever experienced. I came out of work on a Friday evening to a flat tire and had to wait on AAA to come and change to the spare tire. I got to Big O only 20 minutes before closing and Justin Hiller helped me in a time of need. He asked if I could come back tomorrow but unfortunately I had to work the following day and was unable to bring it back. He took care of everything quickly (even staying a bit beyond closing) and was so nice! Would absolutely recommend this place to ANYONE! read more

I've been going here for quite a while. The service is okay but the wait times are always long. They won't take appointments for oil changes so if you walk in you wait at least an hour. Bring a book and plan to camp out for a while. I asked if I could make an appointment to make the wait time less since we have a young baby. They essentially said "no tough luck". Looks like we will be searching for a new place to get our oil changed that is a little more family friendly. read more
