Honestly, I wasn't sure about their all electronic approach to customer service. There is no number to talk to a real person. It was a little tough initially to get attention to the issue I had with a light --missing a small piece that made it impossible to install the light. First of all, you can't speak with a human. Very frustrating. Second, I "chatted" with a representative, trying to get a missing part for a bathroom vanity mirror, which I was told had been discontinued; however, the representative told me they would see if that specific part was available, and that I was to "check my email" for status. I never received anything. When I followed up with a new "chat" they had no record of my previous conversation, and basically told me I was out of luck. It's an Uttermost mirror, so I imagine if they had checked with Uttermost, they might have gotten resolution for me. We are building a new home, so the mirror wasn't opened for several months after receiving it. I'm having trouble resolving lights that were ordered in low voltage in error. I'm not sure whose error it was since I was having trouble getting the sale price to adjust when ordered and needed customer service to add the items to the cart. I have filled out the correct form and the last one instructed me to call Hinckley. This is not their problem. I need to return these and have the correct ones sent out. I'm not happy with the lack of communication to resolve this. The slightly lower price is not worth this gap in resolving this issue. I should have ordered from a local lighting company. read more

But when I clicked the button in two different places, it wouldn't apply it and seemed to want me to complete the order first, then apply the discount. I have had the same experience of many other posters - purchasing the product was fine, return process a nightmare. Spoke to a rep who wanted to transfer me to returns. After I said it was closed, he said someone was there and transferred the call. No one answered after 15'. I called today. The virtual assistant, which is not helpful, hung up on me. I called a second time, put on hold waiting for a rep, then, after 10 minutes, disconnected. Called a 3rd time, finally spoke to an unhelpful rep, asked to be transferred to returns. I was transferred and am still on hold after 20 minutes. Unless you are absolutely sure that you will receive the item you want that meets all of your circumstances, DO NOT do business with this company. You will waste time and money. read more

Though in the end, I did get my order filled, finding out anything about the order after I placed it was next to impossible. I'll summarize: On Tuesday, I went to the Kichler website to find and purchase the undercounter lamps I needed, I was re-directed to 1STOPLIGHTING.COM to place the order. I ordered (3) Kichler lamp part numbers. I received confirmation on Weds that only 2 were shipped but the primary lamp that those two connect to for power was not included with no information about a back-order or if it would ever ship and yet, I was charged for it. 1STOPLIGHTING.COM is an entirely digital response website. When you click on any of the links on this page, you are brought to a digital response webpage. Try to call "Contact" and all you get is a bot (with the clicking of the keyboard keys in the background included) that gets you nowhere. I got nowhere so I waited for the two to arrive in hopes more information would be included. The two arrived that Friday. Cool, fast shipping! But, nothing about the 3rd part number was included. When I signed back into my account and clicked on the order number to see what was happening, I get a blank screen. I sent an email to the "Customer Service Desk" requesting ANY information about the missing lamp same Friday and received a response on Monday that they hadn't heard back from me so they would close the case. WHAT!? I emailed them again with a somewhat "stern" response and received an apology for the auto response email and someone would get back to me in 2-3 days. The next day, Tuesday, I received confirmation that the missing items was being shipped. I did the missing lamp on Thursday and then later that day received an email apologizing for the missing item that hadn't shipped but it had been discontinued!!! Yes, the item I had just received was being discontinued. You can guess as what I was tempted to do but, I'm not a dick so, I did nothing. As mentioned, in the end, I have the lamps I ordered but the frustration getting there was not worth the hassle. This was the first and last time I will be dealing with Kichler and 1STOPLIGHTING.COM. read more

I have a defective remote control box for one of two expensive ceiling fans I ordered from them and installed. I wanted to replace the box so I wouldn't have to return the installed fan. They are a drop shipment portal for sales only For product or service matters they only have know nothing bots that waste your time. No humans for online chats or service calls. What went well? Pretty much...everything!! I've been remodeling a house that has...been needing a lot of work, to see the least! On a Sunday, while using Safari to search, I found 1stoplighting , tried to purchase an item. Before becoming a member- the item came up priced at $600.33. The site offers a 20 or 25% discount to first time Buyers so of course I decided to sign up however only a few minutes later and then on Chrome the item came up priced at $833.80- ODD. I made the decision to call Monday during their business hours to inquire about the difference in price and to ensure I would get the first time discount off the original price of $600.33. First of all, on Monday I couldn't even get to the site on three different search engines- I got a "403 Forbidden" error notice. The 1Stoplighting representative told me that happens a lot ???? I explained why I was calling and suddenly the call was dropped on their end- no explanation to my inquiry and no call back.... Very sketch. Be careful. read more

You Order and Nothing Happens -- EVER. Ordered 11/24/24. By 12/5/24 after seeing ZERO movement on this order, just the same fake message every day, I attempted to use their automated help desk. That went about as you would expect. When it kept asking the same question over and over instead of answering, and I told it to go F itself, THEN it sent me to a human (or said it did). The human, Gerard someone, was worse than the automated bot. He never even typed anything. Not a single letter. I'm not the kind of person who puts up with this, so I canceled the order and got a message that they would TRY to cancel it. They're not going to cancel it. They're going to charge me and ship eventually and then put it on ME to have to tie up more time returning it. Keep in mind this is TRY to cancel it after 12 DAYS of doing nothing to actually fulfill this order in the first place. Read the reviews on Yelp and Trustpilot. This company is no company you want to be involved with or reward with your business. There is literally NOBODY THERE when you have an issue, and I think just about anyone trying to order anything from them WILL have an issue. I placed an order for 2 carriage lights and a lamp post light. I received the wrong color lamp post light. I filed a ticket the following day with assurances I would receive an update in 2-3 days. I never received an update and followed up with their online chat system after almost a month of waiting. I was told that I would need to provide photos of the box for any replacement consideration. The person on chat was insistent that the colors of the fixtures provided were too similar and they could not tell if a mistake was made or not, despite entirely different glass finishes. I do not believe the agent even checked the listing to see how similar the color finishes are on the fixtures, just insisted on making it my issue. I will never shop with 1StopLighting again. Ordered a ceiling fan on July 2nd and was told I would receive it outside of the 3 day guarantee, including the holiday. I then requested the $50 money back as stated on their site to which the chat agent fulfilled. Fast forward to today (7/9), I receive the wrong product. What I got was a light fixture instead. So I contact customer support through chat (since you cannot actually speak to someone due to being an online only help desk) to which they offer a replacement. But when asked for expedited shipping they respond with "we do not offer that." And when asked for any money back, they say they can't because they already gave me the $50 for the original delay. I had a hard time locating a specific recessed lighting flange that fit my current cans. I called the factory and they don't sell to the consumer. I found the exact model with this organization. I did have to call and speak with a human to have the web price match their advertised sale price. I was able to connect quickly and complete the transaction on the web. After a full business day I checked the status of the order. It was still listed as pending. I sent in a e-mail status request since their chat bot is a piece of garbage. A couple of days later, I received a response to let them check on it. (Written in very bad English) After a few more days with no communication, I cancelled the order and notified my credit card company. Lo and behold, a few days later I received an e-mail indicating that the items are out for delivery. I went back to the website and the order still indicated cancelled. The items were shipped directly from the factory I think. Who knows if I'll receive any money back from their guarantee. I'll send an e-mail and inquire. The price was good. I'm not sure I would order again from them for any expensive items. It also appears their CS team is not located on site, but a 3rd party. read more

I have a Minka Aire fan (Model F594) that stopped speaking to my wall control switch. I replaced the controls with a handheld remote, but it turned out the receiver was the problem. It is indeed the green Minka Aire receiver with one black wire and one white wire coming out of one side and one blue wire, one black wire, and one white wire coming out of the other side. (See photo of OLD receiver that I yanked out.) Getting the old receiver out was fun because there were two THICK squares of foam double-sided tape attached to the receiver, holding it down, in addition to the metal bar and two screws. I really had to pull on it hard to get it out of there. Also, I had to snip all the connections and remake the exposed ends because the wire nuts from the factory are permanently attached on the original connections. Other than that, once the power was restored and the light switch was flipped, I pushed the stop button on the remote for 10 seconds and then the light blinked twice. Success! I am so happy that I didn't have to replace my fan. I received an email with the FedEx tracking number when they shipped it on a Wednesday, and I received it on a Saturday. Since I placed the order on a Monday morning, and the Saturday delivery was outside the 3-day delivery promise, I followed their directions online to request a partial delivery charge refund. I quickly got a response from Princess, and she refunded $10.00 to my credit card. Sweet! Very responsive and friendly. I would recommend 1STOP lighting without hesitation. Thank you! read more
