Yesterday the overhead light and the fan in our bathroom stopped working, but a GFI outlet in the bathroom still had power and the adjacent hallway light worked. The refrigerator and microwave outlets both stopped working. So did an electrical outlet across the room, yet other lights in the room still worked. What was going on? I checked the breaker box; nothing had tripped. I turned all breakers off and reset them. No change. I decided I needed to call an electrician. Onto Yelp. We all know customer reviews can be brutal, but Surge Electric reviews were very good! I called Surge Electric this morning and spoke with Sergio. Alex and Omar were out around 11:00AM. I showed them what was working and what wasn't. They had their meters out, checking every outlet. I showed them the breaker box. In about a minute Alex said, "I found it." He showed it to Omar. A burnt wire due to an old, loose wire connector. He fixed it and suddenly all the lights were back on! I'm more than impressed. I will call Surge Electric for any future electrical issues. A few days later, SURGE ELECTRIC employees came to start the repair and some planning for the light fixture project. Alex and Omar did a fantastic job finishing the repair and ensuring its safety up to code (to my knowledge). Alex returned a few business days later to complete the lights. We got several quotes including one from a family member and Surge Electric was the best and had the earliest install date. We are a no shoes household and I was worried it would be an issue (most people have issues with wearing booties), but it was no problem.
