Customers beware!!! I came to this location because it had great yelp reviews. My friend Bb (he's white) had warned me not to come here because his step brother (he's black) was treated poorly. He stated that while he and his brother shopped, the store manager/owner was very rude, cold and not helpful. Bb stated that they arrived at the store separately and while he was there the owner was very helpful and informative, but once his brother came in he did a complete 180. Bb stated prior to his brother coming, he saw how the owner interacted with another black man in the store and figured something must have taken place before he arrived, because he treated that man so poorly. But Bb quickly brushed it off because he treated him so nicely. However, once his brother came in the owner/manager treated his brother the same way as the other black male. He stated they were disgusted and felt like he treated his brother like trash and stopped being nice to him, so they left. Today I waited in line for an hour (totally understandable) to purchase a .40 caliber weapon. When I came in the store I observed the owner dealing with a white male in the store. He was very helpful and informative, answering each of the gentlemen's questions. When it came time for him to help me he was very cold and did not want to help me. He did not want to answer my questions and when he did, he wouldn't look at me. I observed his interaction with another couple (white) in his shop and he was friendly to them and looked at them while speaking. Because of what my friend Bb had shared prior I was more keen to take note of this. The owner also seemed to be upset with me because I chose to wear a face mask n95 inside the store as well. Due to how he treated me, I left the store and did not purchase anything. I waited outside for my ride and while outside another black male had gone in and came out. I asked him if he liked his time in the store. He stated, no. He said that the manger, was not helpful and did not look at him while speaking. He told me that he said thank you to the owner for his time and the owner didn't say anything back. He stated that he wanted to get a gun for home defense, but wouldn't by from here because of how he was treated and felt the owner didn't not care for African Americans. This is not acceptable behavior. We have to treat each other with respect no matter what our color. I should have listened to my friend Bb. Lastly, if you have a bad experience take the time and write about it. If my friend Bb would have, I might have taken him more seriously. Thanks for reading. read more

This is truly the best firearms store I've been to in my time. Just like the reviews say. The customer service here is truly amazing. Very friendly and social staff. They have a good selection of new firearms at good prices. The used firearms are definitely where the deals are on the pricing. Also they have a very good selection of used firearms or what's called consignment firearms. I was really surprised when I noticed they even sell silencers. A lot of stores don't or none that I have seen. They have accessories also but I'm not big on accessories like lasers and stuff. I guess you can call me old' school. But I keep seeing people at the range with flashlights, lasers and other crap on their firearms which basically makes people look like they lag any skill at the range. But their prices on accessories were reasonably priced even. Overall. A++++ , The best part about this store is I noticed their employees are very very precise on the paperwork which is a good thing when you're dealing with good old Maryland. So nothing comes back as "illegible writing" or "Can't read what's called Doctor's writing". Definitely my go2 store. Can't really think of any downfalls really. read more

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Not like most gun shops this one will guide you to the correct firearm for your needs. Doesn't matter if you been shooting for 20-30 years or just beginning the help provide sound and very good advice on any firearm or ammunition you're in the market for. If they don't have what you're looking for they go out of their way to tell you where to find it. I don't live anywhere near this store but go there because they are the best around. Quality products for sale here. If you are a new firearm purchaser the guys at the counter will guide you through all the complicated State of Maryland laws to help you get started. If I could give a zero rating I would. What is interesting about the reviews on this shop is that we have 5*'s saying how "phenomenal" they are and then there are the 1*'s saying how terrible they are. Well...here is another one. I went into the store to purchase a rifle. They had me fill out paperwork using a computer, charged me $700 for the purchase and then surprised me with "now we have to do a background check". There was no mention of this before NOR was there a full explanation of the process. I asked the man why he would charge my card BEFORE the background check? He had no real explanation. The background check came back as 'denied' so now I'm asking for a refund. The man then says that I am going to be charged a $50 restock fee??!! Restock for what? I had not taken the rifle out of the store and all he had to do was to turn around and put the rifle back on the shelf. This store is in business to steal from unsuspecting customers with hidden charges that they make sure not to mention to you during processes that they do not explain fully. I wonder how many people they have conned with this fake 'restock' fee. Maybe, as the bad reviews insinuate, this store prefers to deal with customers that 'fit' them? Whatever the case, I would not recommend that people support this kind of business ethic. read more

Pathetic excuse for a 2020 business Beware this store will serve you best if you are white or from the 1950's. This business is a poor excuse for a growing market segment for young people who are taking up a new hobby. Your emails will be ignored, simple questions not answered, and repeated phone calls will go to voice mail. In 2020 businesses hiding behind "being TOO" busy" to serve customers via email, phone and social media will soon be obsolete. As a business owner it is not your God given right to be rude to customers which do not meet your narrow demographic views. Customers have many other choices and thousands of other businesses which will cater to their needs rather than this pathetic little store at the back of a strip mall which remain unknown to customers who are looking for a sophisticated buying experience. After months of putting off purchasing a weapon for home protection, I did a quick google search and ended up here. As with any gun store, walking in can be intimidating as well as overwhelming. All of their handguns are in glass shelves on display with price tags, and all assault rifles and are hung on the wall. Walking in there I already knew what I wanted to purchase, so I was in and out, including my federal background check that they do on the spot, in 40 minutes. The two guys working behind the counter (sorry I forgot their names) were filled with knowledge, suggest an upgraded weapon for only $30 more and made the buying process very smooth. Their prices seemed to be pretty fair and given their customer service, they'll definitely see me again when I purchase again. Thanks 2A! read more

I stumbled on this place while looking for distributors on a manufacturers website. I was excited to see that it was actually a convenient location for me to visit, and even more excited when I got inside. It's located on the West side of Route 1, just North of Highway 32. There's a strip mall with a number of stores in red brick buildings (including a Taco Bell, gas station, and pawn shop). If you drive in there, and then around to the back, you'll find more stores, including 2A Sales (look for the firearms signs). The place is nice inside, not huge, but a very good selection of handguns, accessories, and rifles and shotguns. I've gone to a lot of places and despite the small size, they had everything I wanted here. If you don't see it, most likely they can get it for you. But where 2A really stands out is in customer service. Seriously, everyone here was very friendly and very accommodating. From the welcome when you walk in (which each customer was personally greeted), to the service at the counter. Rather than simply slapping paperwork down and leaving me with a pen, Seth stood there and helped to make sure I filled everything out properly. He also walked me through the follow on steps necessary to comply with Maryland law. At no time did they act like I was an inconvenience (unlike Accurate Pawn and Tackle, which is further up Route 1). For people looking for an FFL for transfers, I'd come here too. Their prices are cheaper than anything else I've found, and they're a class 3 dealer so they have you covered. The caveat to this is: for used weapon transfers they'll pretty much always help. But if you're trying to transfer a weapon (new) that they sell, they'll charge a premium or may not transfer the weapon...which makes sense and is something I've seen from a lot of shops. So if you're looking for anything firearms related you'd be making a mistake to not swing by 2A. They're cheaper than their competitors, with as good selection (if not better), and the best customer service I've had in the area. They don't have many reviews (I think 6 at the time of writing this), but there's a reason they have great reviews. read more

Out of all the shops I've ever been to, this one is probably the most helpful and stress free place I've been. There's no pressure to buy, they don't try to talk you out of a gun you want in favor of a gun they personally like. Both of which have happened to me before in other shops. They have a fairly good selection of guns and accessories. If you don't see what you want, ask if they have it. Sometimes they have stock that just isn't on display at the time. If they don't have what you want they are more than willing to acquire it for you. Prices are competitive. All of their staff is knowledgeable and willing to help. Even though they're a good 45 minute drive from where I live, it's the only shop I'll go to. read more

My first experience with 2 A was in 2012 and like several other reviewers, I had a hard time finding the place. I don't think Yelp was a thing back then and if it was, I wasn't using it. Since then, I've bought a couple of firearms from them and used them to transfer a rifle I ordered from out of state. Just yesterday, I visited them again to pick up an armorer's tool for some work I'm doing on a gun for a friend. I was determined to spend my money locally and I was reminded why I came here in the first place. The staff are consistently polite and are without question subject matter experts without the usual smugness you find at so many gun stores. They are well stocked, organized and patient with everyone. (Mind you, this is during the COVID 19 situation and they were enforcing a 2 customer limit in the store and I derped the sign on the door and became customer #3 out of my own inattention. One of the gentlemen told me to please wait outside and I sort of sheepishly exited to the sidewalk.). During my 10 minute wait another guy rolled up and we spoke about why we were there. Seems like I'm not the only one who wouldn't hesitate to do my transactions at 2 A. If you are unfortunate enough to live in Maryland at the same time as you choose to exercise your right to keep and bear arms, you will be making a mistake if you go elsewhere. Just remember that they are all the way around back of the strip shopping center when your GPS says you're there! read more

Great store. I'm always greeted when I walk through the door. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They often take the time to listen to what I am looking for and to give some feedback based on what my needs are. I don't feel pressured to buy anything, but you get the feeling that they want to help you find the right firearm for your personal situation. They have a very clean and organized store with a great selection to browse. I can't say this enough, but what separates this place from other stores that I have been to is the staff. No pressure and no attitude like you might get in other stores. I've had quite a few transactions with them from purchasing a firearm, parts, as well as had them do some work on a rifle for me, and all of the transactions have been great. Compared to the fiasco that is On Target, and the mediocre service of Outdoor World, 2A Sales is wonderful. I felt welcome and not belittled, and Mark was great in assisting me with my purchase. I came in already knowing the model I wanted, and in spite of the small shop size, they did have one in stock. They do not leave purchased weapons out on display once they have been purchased, so be sure to ask them if they carry the model you are looking for. Customers seem to be assisted one at a time, which can be slow, but it is important when dealing with firearms and all the ridiculous laws being passed soon. Try to visit at an off hour, since people in MD have been flocking to shops to make purchases before new laws pass in October. This isn't the shop's fault. Be patient. Waiting periods are up as well, since the state police are dragging their feet on paperwork. Overall, great shop! Only -1 star for small selection, otherwise great. Since I am doing the review, here is my opinion: small, not what I expected at all, hard to find (we circled the building twice) and the fat 'bouncer' guy in the back of the room creeped me out because he was taking photos of customers behind their backs with his cell phone. read more

I understand that firearm sales are at an all time high, HOWEVER, I drove to this shop to introduce myself in person. I wanted to use them as an FFL to help me with my transfers and pay them $50 per transfer. I had three (3) pending. I introduced myself to the owner, made sure I didn't just call, I went there to shake his hand and meet him. I left, contacted the sellers and gave them the address of 2A Sales. After one week of trying, none of my three sellers could get them on the phone. I called the shop and got voice mail. I left a message. I called again a few days later. Left a message. I sent and Email, I sent a fax. After two more weeks of never being called back, no email back, no fax back, I contacted my sellers and had them ship to a different FFL. It's makes me angry that a business owner does not take his customers seriously. To never call back?? Are you serious? It wasted weeks of my time and since they were sold out of most everything, you would think they would want the revenue for completing paperwork. So my one star review is something I would consider accurate. What little gear they have, they are overpriced and taking advantage of the buyers that support them when times are not as great. Their selection is poor at best. Most important, they don't care about customer service and do nothing to help you. It's very sad because they could rock if they simply did their job. I'd recommend you avoid them at all costs and go to many others in the area that do what they are supposed to do. read more

People are knowledgeable and friendly. They have some interesting collectable guns. Haven't tried their FFL service yet but it seemed well organized and highly used (was in the store 30 minutes and 4 FFL transactions were done.) Note they are in the rear of the shopping center so no your GPS isn't crazy there are more shops around the back. Prices were about 10% lower than others near bye so good value. Ammo selection could be better. I'll be back and will definitely use the FFL. read more

Went here on a recomendation from a friend. I have been wanting to get a can for some time. After talking with Seth for ten or fiftreen minutes, I bought it on the spot. By the same time the next day I had everything I needed all squared away, and just needed to drop off two things at the post office. That's it. You just play the waiting game after. Seth seriously kicked-ass. Made the whole process smooth, easy... He did every little thing he could to make my life easier with the process and it helps that he's very friendly and informative. Tom was there, another solid guy who never minded showing me any which firearm. They're great. I haven't had any dealings with the owner Mark personally but he seemed friendly enough. They have attitude problems. Say, they can refuse to do a transfer because they do not like an online retailer that you used or they do have the same firearm in store for sale. They will not call you when your parcel has arrived, nor if additional paperwork required. The bottom line is: VERY customer unfriendly retailer/FFL licence holder. read more
