This used to be my go to place. The location was good. It was clean and always had great availability. But, I noticed that customer service has been going downhill. Ok, maybe I caught them on a bad day. Then I went again. Well, it must have been another bad day because I have been a customer here for years and the last two times must be a fluke. Well, the third time of bad customer service, I decided to take my money and go elsewhere. I mean, they know I will buy but they just keep me waiting and waiting... Unless you get someone from the family like Mark, forget it. The staff, even those who have been there, seem to ignore you when you need assistance. Even after saying "Hey, I need some assistance...." they will pass you over to others whom entered the store much later. What's the deal? This is Atlantic Guns newest location. Downtown Silver Spring and Rockville locations closed and consolidated into this location. The staff is awesome. They are very knowledgeable. As one would expect, inventory is low on handguns and ammo. Most stores, including this one, have more rifles and rifle ammo, than anything else. The store location is Northern Rockville Pike, south of Shady Grove Road. I always check at this store first for going to any other store for guns, ammos, and accessories. read more

It was like reconnecting with an old friend!!! Haven't been in as much after they relocated from Silver Spring, but the longer drive has ALWAYS been well worth it. Plus this time, I'd worked myself into a couple of "do-it-yourself" jams. (Spoiler Alert: based on my experiences, one of the ways you can tell a "stand-up" business is they not only fix it, but they also show you how to fix it YOURSELF in the future if it happens again.) I called first and gave him a basic description of my "situations." Packed up and rolled out. Gunsmith ALEC URBAN crushed it from there! His immediately obvious firearm knowledge with a complementary tutorial for possible future occurrences was EPIC! (See above "stand-up business" reference). As for inventory, they had all the parts/accessories necessary right there. In my own defense, you'd have to be Gunsmith ALEC to figure out the other stuff (The Guy's a beast!). In the end, I'm walking out about an hour later with all my guns in working order, some reasonably priced cleaning supplies and some hard-to-find ammo!!! Although ALEC crushed it, I have to give a shout out to everybody on staff. I apologize for not getting the name of the young lady who assisted me at the gunsmith desk and again at the front desk (Nicely Done!!!) and Jay with the helpful info for DC residents. Went in today to look at a Handgun I'm considering for my 1st one. I worked with a tall caucasian gentlemen but got the vibe that he just wasn't trying hard enough to sell. Short on answers and didn't suggest other handguns when I asked about red dot optical for one I'm considering. Simply said that it wouldn't go with it and never suggested other options. He then locked the cabinet and went to talk with another but seems like he enjoyed them more. Just felt as though he wasn't interested and profiled me. Terrible customer service. Instead of trying to solve the problem, the agent wanted to start a fight with me. He was looking for an excuse to cancel the sale which is exactly what he did. I didn't expect much when he attacked me in his first email response. Their Silver Spring location is further out of the way for me, but I prefer that location over this one. The salespeople here constantly ignore customers who they probably take one look at and say "they don't look like they know what they're doing" or "they're probably not buying anything". What they don't know (or probably just don't care about) is that if they just took the time to talk to their customers (they're certainly not busy with anything else whenever I'm in there), they might actually get people comfortable and ready to throw money at them! There have been two times I've gone into the store looking for a specific gun or accessory, and was never acknowledged (although they stopped to help customers they already knew or who looked much older than me), so I left and looked elsewhere. I'm from Alabama and these gun shops around here are just blah. Too up tight. Too arrogant. They act like they are doing you a favor by being there. Prices are fine. They are reasonably knowledgeable although they are more interested in selling you what they have than what you might actually need. It's a small shop but quite well stocked. Typically, it's crowded so be prepared for a wait. Nice inventory of used firearms, too. Really, given the locale, it's not bad. I came back for more parts, and the customer service has improved tremendously; I was looking for a front post sight and an adjustment tool; it took a couple of minutes of walking around before someone asked if I needed help and was able to get me what I needed. The sight parts were from a random draw, and the person helping me out put them inside the adjustment tool bag to keep me from losing the small parts. I'm definitely coming back again. These guys are handling the chaos around the new laws with patience and class. I heard them tell people what they could expect over and over, never once seeming annoyed and always emphasizing that people could buy elsewhere. They weren't pushy, they are knowledgable, they don't rush you even though there are tons of ppl in the store. They don't make you feel stupid, and they don't try to influence your decisions. I'm giving Atlantic Guns Rockville 5 stars solely based on their outstanding customer service!!! They are pricier than some of the other gun shops but I never experienced the high level of excellent customer service from a gun shop as I got from the Atlantic Guns Rockville store... I spent at least half an hour with the sales man and I looked at least 15 guns, all the while the sales man kept his cool and high level of courtesy the entire time, and obliged my every request and fully responded to my various questions.... even showed me other guns to consider.... Thank you!!!! I took the weekend to think it over and even though, I could beat the price by $50 place else I felt that because they had the products in stock and provided such an extraordinary customer service, that I will support them by spending the extra cash.... and seriously....
