Let's start with the positive. I have eaten at this restaurant 7-8 times, and the food is consistently outstanding. Everything I've ever had there (gumbo, roast beef po boy, chicken spaghetti, club sandwich, salads) looks great and tastes amazing. The negative, and it's a big one, is the service. Very pleasant and friendly folks, but slow--I mean painfully slow. I went there around noon last Saturday hoping to get a quick lunch. Walked from the parking lot to the patio, sat down at a table, and waited. And waited. And waited. 20 minutes later I still had not had anyone take my order, or even greet me and offer a drink or water. I was by myself; another table of four on the patio (which was there when I got there) also had no drinks and was grumbling about what was going on and whether to leave. I am not sure what they did, but I ended up leaving. This was not an isolated incident unfortunately. I was there a couple of months ago with a group of 8. It took forever for our food to arrive (understandable with a large party). The problem was after getting our food, we sat there for 10 minutes with no napkins or silverware. When I went inside to grab some for myself, the waitress was offended like I had just personally attacked her or something (I hadn't said anything, just grabbed what we needed from the bin). Every single time we have been there there has been service issues. I know how hard it is to run a business and get good help, especially in a semi remote area, but the service here is just remarkable (not in a good way). I would give the food here 5 stars (it is really that consistently good), but my overall rating is 3 stars because of the ghost town service issues. Not usually in a hurry or anything, but I would rather go across the street to the Trading Post and get a bag of beef jerky than spend an hour and a half to get a sandwich. read more

My wife and I had lunch there on Saturday November 18th. She had a bowl of soup with water and I had a sandwich with a cucumber salad and a Diet Coke. She thought her soup was delicious...and that my sandwich was ordinary. I would agree. The ambiance is nice and the location is excellent. My issue is that the bill for our lunch was $51.00...I added a $9.00 tip for a total of $60.00. We both felt that this was outrageously overpriced! This little place close to the Cliffs Resort was fantastic!!! We sat outside to eat due to COVID! The menu changes daily. The salad was outstanding. The hubby got a Club which was piled high with meats cheese and veggies he shared with our granddaughter! You must look at the pics to see the size portions. What a surprise to find such great food out in the middle of nowhere. The menu changes daily and I think I ate there 4 days in a row last week... that means everything is fresh, made to order, and only around for a limited time. Things I've had that I'd order again: Shrimp Po-boy, Roast Beef Po-boy, jambalaya, shrimp etouffee, cowboy beans (side), braised cabbage (side), fish tacos. All of it is good, and the only reason I keep typing is that I'm awaiting today's menu post so that I can order lunch! read more

Came here on a Saturday for brunch. Had to wait a few mins cuz they don't open till 11 am. Cute little diner. Ordered seafood gumbo. It was good. Lots of shrimp and crawfish. My honey got turkey club and he said it was good. Came with chips. They didn't have kids menu but they made peanut butter jelly sandwich for my daughter. Giving it 4 stars cuz they can add more to their menu like burgers or pizza or something for kids. They have limited choices. But overall, meal was decent and would recommend this place. Wow!! We've known about this restaurant for a couple years, but being on the other side of the lake, and not knowing what we were missing out on, we were first timers. All of the ingredients were So fresh, from the produce, to the shrimp, to the "watermelonade" she made SPECIAL for our little girl. It was horrible, after ordering our food it took 40 minutes with only 5 other customers. Peel n Eat consisted of 6 cold shrimp with cocktail sauce. Turkey sandwich had an unnecessary spice on it.
