WARNING: BROKEN FRAMES WITH NO COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGES. I browsed for new frames and lenses in early April. No trouble at all with the lenses or the eye appointment, but they didn't have any frames on offer that worked for my narrow eyes. I asked if I could have the lenses put into my current frames and was given the affirmative. I gave them my frames the second week of April. Now, in the first week of May, I have been informed that my frames are destroyed. While I was refunded for the new lenses, I will get nothing in exchange for my belongings that were broken here. By simply trying to purchase glasses, I'm now out a $150 set of frames with NOTHING to show for it. I wasn't even given a warning that this was a possibility. The only recompense is that I was offered to come choose from the small selection of frames available there which don't fit. I'll be telling everybody I know about this. read more

I was disappointed with my experience. The exam felt rushed and less thorough than eye exams I've had elsewhere. I've been wearing contacts for nearly 10 years, so I'm very familiar with the contact lens fitting process and know when my vision feels right. During my exam, the doctor told me she believed my current contact lens prescription was already too strong, even though the measurements taken during the exam suggested otherwise. The prescription I was given also didn't match the trial contacts I left with, which was confusing. I decided not to purchase my contacts there that day, and I'm glad I waited. Instead, I ordered my contacts through Costco using a prescription much closer to the exam measurements. Even then, I wish I had trusted my instincts and gone slightly stronger because my right eye still isn't as clear as it should be. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this office, especially if you're unfamiliar with eye exams or don't feel comfortable questioning your prescription. read more

I had a really great experience! I was worried about going here because of the bad reviews. I chose 20/20 image eye center because it's literally around the corner from where I live and is in my insurance network. Everyone was really nice to me. They were also respectful and professional! All of my questions were answered with kindness! They never tried to sell me anything I didn't want and I was given choices. When I said no to something, we moved along. Told to come between 8am and 1pm to pick up contacts. Sat outside for 15 min. Office is suppose to be open. Called main office and first patient check is at 8:15 am and still no office staff. Door locked. Very unprofessional. I know it's a Friday, but if you tell patients the office is open, you should be open and not waste my time. read more

I have mixed feelings about my two experiences purchasing frames from 20/20 Image and it involves billing a customer service. First off, the variety of frames is impressive. I love that there are higher end options! Last year, I purchased a pair of frames and was told it would take about 2 weeks for them to be finished and would receive a call when they were done. No one called me to tell me my frames were done. It was annoying, but not a big deal. Once my insurance statement came in the mail, I noticed I had been overcharged. If I hadn't called the insurance company, 20/20 Image never would have caught the error. I did get my money refunded easily. This year, I bought a beauty pair of Jimmy Choo glasses but after weeks of trying to let my eyes adjust, it just wasn't working. The return policy is awesome. You have 30 days to bring back your purchase to qualify. I took the frames back, got a refund, and was told my insurance would be contacted to reverse charges. Well, my insurance wasn't notified and when I got contacts later down the road, I was surprised I got a bill. I contacted 20/20 and the representative said she would contact my insurance to get the issue fixed. Several weeks went by and I heard nothing so I reached out again. They apparently had forgotten about me and said they would contact my insurance but I won't hold my breath. While the store itself has some amazing products, follow-up and billing have been an issue on both my visits. It's been almost 3 months and I'm still trying to work out a pair of glasses I returned in February. read more

I purchased an expensive pair of eye glasses in their North Scottsdale and 2 weeks later the screws came loose. I went back into the store and they said they would not tighten the screws and referred me to an expensive repair shop in Phoenix (35 minute drive one way). After using this location as our eye care specialists for the last three years, my husband and I finally decided to call it quits. They had three years to impress us--never have they done so. The staff (depending on the day/month/year) can range from completely unprofessional to outstanding. Unfortunately, they change so often that you are never quite sure what kind of help/service you will receive. The doctor herself seems nice enough, but you spend about 5 minutes with her that it's really hard to built a client/patient relationship. (She comes across as if she could care less to, anyway.) This last visit, my husband and I had back to back appointments. We both took about 30 minutes each--totally reasonable. When it came time to pay and order contact lenses & new glasses frames--the process took over an hour. That's just absurd! Even after all that waiting, I didn't leave with a receipt, new contact lens or glasses. I was told in two days, I would be emailed the receipt, confirmation of my contact lenses purchased and once she had figured out the cost of my new glasses lenses--the price. I called five days later to have them email my receipt and my rx's. Looks like it's time to find a new optometrist. Sorry 20/20, you had three years of chances. read more

My initial appointment was good and I was able to get in quick. They spent at least half an hour with me teaching me how to put contacts in. However, they didn't tell me what my insurance coverage was. Additionally, the contacts I was prescribed are not comfortable. I'm a first-time contact wearer so after the 10 day trial, it wasn't something I could distinguish and I ordered a 90-day supply. That's fine; I understand they may not know exactly what works for each individual. The issue I have is that I have called twice (and will soon be a third time) in the past 3 weeks trying to get a prescription for a different brand of contacts. I'm told the doctor will get back to me, but nothing. Usual doctor call-backs should occur by the next business day. I will not be returning. read more

I have been a patient for over 3 years at the scottsdale location and unfortenatelly I had my first really bad and frustrating experience here. After I got my eye exam completed, I selected a pair of glasses ($435). The staff lady with short white hair told me she will measure my pupils so I asked her to write down my pupil measuresments on a peice of paper for me to have it. She said she cannot do that and she will only send it to the vendor, I asked why and she said "I am not going to argue with you". I have never had this issue happene to me before and when I told her, in the previous years the staff wrote that for me she said she doesnt know who did it but they are not allowed. Can someone confirm? Why am I not allowed to know my pupil measurement, this lady talked to with condescending tune as if I asked for something I should not ask for? Can someone verify? This bothers me a lot and I might never go back to this location even tho Dr. Nadeu is amazing. read more

I was in need of a new eye doctor because the last one I went to was awful. It would take me two hours from my appointment time to get seen. At 20/20 Image Eye Center, I was so impressed. The paper work was easy and fast to fill out and a minute later I was being walked back to an exam room! Linda was super friendly and helpful and made the diagnostic testing super easy, efficient and comfortable. Dr. Shifrin is wonderful! I explained to her how my previous eye doctor visits from my old eye doctor did not clear up the itchiness of my eyes and how I couldn't wear contacts anymore. She set up a plan right away giving me eye drop prescriptions to clear it up as well as getting me fitted back into contacts. She was very patient and answered all of my questions! I even got a trial box of contacts! I'll be doing a follow up with her in two weeks. My eyes are already starting to feel less itchy! Great patient care! I wasn't rushed out at all, she took her time with me and I appreciated that tremendously! read more

I had a great experience on my latest visit. Everyone was friendly and my appointment went quickly. The contacts I wanted were in stock and I was able to leave with them. I love that the office has a good deal one one of the daily contact brands each time I go. Dr Shifrin is very knowledgeable and friendly and really helped explain everything. PLEASE do NOT waste your time or money with this company! I ordered a pair of glasses and they were not made correctly. The frames were not attached to the lenses correctly. I waited another 2 weeks while they re-made them, only to find the same thing wrong with this new pair. The person helping me admitted it wasn't as it should be, and then suggested that it might be just an optical illusion - I am not kidding! So I asked for my money back which they agreed to LESS 15%! I HAVE TO PAY THEM $82.80 BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT ATTACH THE FRAMES TO THE LENSES CORRECTLY! Why should I have to pay money out of pocket for their incompetence? I do want to be fair and say that the doctor that I saw at the Scottsdale location was extremely competent and professional. read more

Great customer service and an extensive line of designer frames. Eyeglasses are one of the largest investments I make all year, so I feel that i should be catered too and be well taken care of. Laura an Carla are my two favorite people to work with, but everyone is courteous and happy to help. They also have recent technology to use during the eye exams (No more dilation!). I was there for new glasses only. Their selection seemed small and very focused on high priced trendy brand name stuff. Most prices were unmarked which always makes me suspicious, but the few that did have prices were in the $225-$400 range for frames alone. I did come in after reading a review on the helpful staff that knew styles well enough to suggest some things that I wouldn't normally try but might end up being my new favorites, but there just wasn't anything that fit what I was looking for. Staff was polite, but not particularly helpful. A staff member took my insurance information right away and sat behind the counter until I had perused their whole collection of women's frames and found nothing of interest. When I asked, she handed me a lot of frames to try on, but it didn't seem like she had any particular thoughts of what would look good, and repeatedly handed me stuff that was exactly what I had said I didn't like. "What, you don't like bold colors? Here, try these frames that look like brown on the outside but have bright pink floral print on the inside that you can see out of your peripheral vision! You prefer metal frames? We don't have many of those, so here's all these plastic frames to try!" Figured I would head out, and I had to ask them for my prescription and insurance information back which they had left sitting on the counter. read more

This place was more than awful. I arrived early for my 2:40 appointment. The doctor didn't see me until 3:05. I was quoted over the phone the price of $69 for an exam. However, when at the office I was told that the exam is $94 and conveniently the employee who quoted me the price no longer worked there. The woman also included all kinds of unnecessary charges into my price. I specifically told them that I only wanted glasses for night driving but she felt the need to give me coating for when I'm on the computer and reading. This was an overall horrible experience. Save your time, energy and money. Target optical is by far more cost efficient and they were extremely nice and on time. read more

I just left this place from dropping off my Chanel frames so that they could put lenses in. And I was really impressed with how knowledgeable and fun the lady was. The customer service she provided me was exceptional. I learned some new stuff about lense materials and she made me laugh. Sorry, I just can't recommend this place. The doctor was great but the staff was awful. Like another reviewer mentioned, they seemed to have trouble with my receipt, so I didn't get a chance to see that they ordered two years of contacts instead of one. Three weeks later, I was still trying to track down my order. Turns out my "bag" full of contacts was sitting in the back for a couple of weeks. You're supposed to guess when your prescription comes in. I hope they read these reviews to find out why the patients don't return. read more
