I went to 2020 as a new customer. I needed to find a new optometrist as my HMO was never able to correctly solve my vision problems. i was frustrated that I wasn't able to see correctly out of one eye. Granted, I have a tough problem to solve but you would think that HMO guys would have been able to figure this out. I put up with this through three pairs of glasses and decided that it was time for a change. I had read rave reviews about 2020 and on a whim we walked into his beautiful shop. David, the owner, made me feel right at home. For starters his huge selection of frames and his care and attention guided me into frames that fit my aesthetic perfectly. He knew what he was doing and it was obvious. His on site optometrist was able to identify the right prescription and within 9 days I had exactly what I needed and wanted. This place is fantastic. They have a wide selection of frames from independent designers (e.g. Anne et Valentin, Res/Rei) and from what I can tell the lowest prices for them in the Bay Area, if not beyond. It took me about 10 months to settle on what I wanted. Children have been conceived, born, and baptized in less time! I wouldn't wish another customer like me on them but really love the glasses that I ended up with and appreciate how patient and accommodating they were. This optometry is the best in the Bay Area, hands down. David and his team provided exceptional service, expert care, and attention to detail that greatly exceeded my expectations. Despite my picky requirements, including a unique and hard-to-find frame from Paris, and my insistence on a 1.74 index and a lightweight design for the lenses, David was able to provide me with an exact replica of my old glasses that I'm extremely satisfied with. When I put the new pair on, I didn't feel any difference, except for the fact that my prescription was updated, and the total weight of the glasses was even 1g lighter than my old pair!!!! 1: After a four week investigation, my claim against 2020Optical was found valid by my bank and I have been refunded the $85 in shipping and restocking fees to which I had never agreed. 2: Mr. Schwartz never mentioned or referred to the shipping and return fees he would be charging me if I didn't keep these frames for any reason. Had he clarified these charges at the time of ordering I would have declined to order. 3: His offer to create a special order for me of 5 of these frames in varying shades quickly proved to be an offer it was impossible for him to honestly make. His own sales rep had never heard of his idea or request. Two other K&K retailers confirmed that this would be a practical impossibility. I subsequently learned that at the time he made this offer, the day that he wrote his Yelp reply, that only one pair of these frames even existed in the US. One is the most of this color and frame that is typically available ever in K&Ks distribution center in Minnesota. And I was assured that the owner/designer of K&K would not have agreed to this plan even if he had been approached, which he was not. I am distressed with Mr. Schwartz' comfort level at omitting and lying, and I am very glad I will not be enriching him at all-so many other good people out there who deserve my business. read more

I have been using 20/20 for years. They're great. Recently diagnosed with Macular Degeneration I was losing vision in the dark while driving. I would say that David, the owner, and Kathy Ong his partnering optometrist are nothing short of genius. David reccomended a lens to clip on my eyeglasses which improves night vision. It WORKS!!!! I am beyond impressed by the "above and beyond" care I received from David at 20/20 Optical. In 2019, I received a prescription from a well known eye doctor in Marin and went to 20/20 Optical to find a good frame. After receiving it, my sight was not perfect. 20/20's on site Dr redid the vision test and David and team redid the lenses. Voila - perfect sight, and the best frames I have owned. Flash forward a year later - I moved from Marin to Seattle just as Covid hit. We got a "pandemic puppy" and she managed to teethe on my glasses, destroying the lens and damaging the frame. After trying Warby Parker online, I received two pairs of sub-par lenses. I now understand progressives are very difficult to do "correctly" and if you get Warby's stay with a single vision lens. I did not realize the quality of 20/20 progressive lenses (with prism for astigmatism) and David's expertise was so much better than that of Warby Parker or LensCrafters. IT IS. David and I were in touch via text and he asked me to send my glasses back and he would see what he could do. I mailed them last Friday and he received them on a Monday and they were fixed with a new lens and were ready to be mailed back to me by Wednesday morning. I received them via USPS on Friday with a new Face a Face case and they are PERFECT. Such high quality lenses. David buffed the scratches out of the frames as best as he could and only when looking closely can you see the damage. Great experience here, especially given the end of December Holiday schedule. I am a daily contact lens user so glasses are a foreign concept to me. Veronica helped me with at least a dozen frames until we both agreed what fit my face best. She was great about incorporating my opinions and leading me to another path of frame styles. However, I had asked when I first went there if they were VSP providers (vision ins) and they said they were. Turns out they are not in-network providers so my glasses cost way more than I have ever, ever paid for glasses.
