A few of my friends had suggested this restaurant. So I visited for lunch with my family. They had extensive menu options to choose right from starters to main course. We had ordered : Babycorn Manchurian Vegetable biryani Mango lassi Every item tasted good, aromatic, flavorful, delicious & fresh. Mango Lassi was chill & refreshing! 20 mins was the wait time to serve our food. Both indoor & outdoor seating facilities are available along with takeout options . Worth visiting if you are craving for Indian food & around Agoura Hills area.

    Double ka meetha

We are regular customers. But recent experience was bad. Somethings changed - probably the chef. Shrimp roast biryani was not as good as it used to be and double ka meetha was terrible. We will need to find a new place.

I have been hesitant to leave a review because we had two bad experiences here but I think it's important to get the owners attention so changes can be made if necessary. We made a special trip out to Agoura Hills to try out this Biryani place. Got there early and waited for them to open for dinner service. I asked for a Thumbs-up (as reflected on their menu), the waitress said they had it but it was warm/ room temperature. I didn't mind room temperature but asked to add ice. When it was brought to me it was flat with no bubbles. When I requested a coke instead the waitress started arguing with me that she has told me previously it would be warm. This women went back and forth with me for a few minutes and I was just surprised she was being serious and stubborn over this. There's a clear difference in a soft drink being room temperature and flat. We ordered gobi Manchurian which taste good. The boneless chicken biryani started off tasting very authentic with strong flavors but there was a hair cooked into the chicken. I lost my appetite at that point and an older male worker came to check on us. At this point we were going to just pay and leave but he insisted on knowing why we didn't eat the food and profusely apologized and asked us to get a different plate of biryani to go. We thanked him but decided to pass on it. We've heard a lot to rave about this place and may give them a second chance in the future based on the authenticity of the food.

Chicken Biryani. Look a nice empty bone on top of the box that I just opened.

I even called ahead and a woman confirmed all meats were halal, although I called three different numbers they have listed, two were out of service. When we got there, it wasn't busy, but there was no halal signage anywhere. Ordering is done through kiosks with instructions kiosks order only. We placed a large order (6 items + drinks) totaling $127.57 at 7:01 PM (Ticket #KK25). Confusion started immediately: -Had to ask if we grab our own drinks (yes... but not stated anywhere) -Friends from the masjid came in and the kiosk lost Wi-Fi while they were ordering -No staff guidance at all After about 30 minutes, we saw a customer return food because it was too spicy. That should've been our warning. When our food came, it was all in cheap takeout containers with paper plates and plastic utensils, it was difficult to pry the containers open, while trying not to get the curries on you, not what you expect dining in at that price. Food was very disappointing: -Butter Chicken didn't taste like butter chicken at all -Haleem was overly spicy and not the usual soupy consistency -Mutton Curry was extremely spicy, and my first bite was all fat, skimped on the meat -One dish had a boiled egg that was so salty it was inedible -No spice level options on the kiosk We were also missing our Tandoori Chicken. While waiting: -Our friends were missing items too -Another customer (Ticket #KK27) came in upset after waiting 45+ minutes with no food and asked for money back -Kitchen looked completely disorganized We finally got our missing item after nearly an hour. I told the server and got a simple "sorry." As someone who is Indian from the Caribbean, I can handle spice, but this was just unbalanced. Even the earlier customer complaining was right. No hospitality, no friendliness, poor food, and a chaotic system. I told my wife at that point I didn't even care if we threw everything away and left. First and last time.

Known for its irresistible sweets, snacks, and traditional Indian delicacies, The definition of feeling like "a kid in a candy store." The menu is large and can be a little intimidating for first-timers so keep that in mind but just know that you really can't go wrong with any of their dishes. There are plenty of small quick bites and chaat (hot and cold snacks) to pick. I was informed by the staff in about two weeks they will be rolling out they're larger northern India dishes, and platters, so stay tuned...And of course, they have cases upon cases of desserts. Here is what I would recommend: Chhole Bhature - MY FAVORITE DISH. Fluffy, golden-brown bhature (deep-fried bread) paired with a perfectly spiced chhole (chickpea curry) total comfort food. Pani Puri Atta - a more popular street food, are perfectly crisp and golden fried puris waiting for you to fill with potato, chickpeas and sauce. For dessert my absolute favorite small bite is their Kaju Apple sweet treat. Trust me. It's a 10/10 and the inside filling was so fun, I felt like a kid again. It was magical...Some honorable mentions would be their Pink Karachi Halwa (think a sweet thick gummy treat) and their Malai roll. Thank you to Bikanervala's staff for making me feel welcome and putting up with all of my questions lol. Everyone was so sweet and helpful. Just a note, please be patient with the team as they have only recently opened and are still navigating training and cook times. My order came out super quickly when I was here but I know some others noted concerns about long wait times who had gotten there before me. I do think it depends what you order but as they get their footing I'm sure times will improve.

The vegan options were plentiful -- and more importantly, they were exceptional. The flavors were bold and intentional, layered in a way that reminds you why you fell in love with Indian cuisine in the first place. I say this with fresh context: we've recently tried a couple of other Indian restaurants in the area, hoping to find something worth revisiting. One served a Dal so overspiced it was nearly inedible. Another offered a Tikka Masala so bland it barely registered. Neither experience was terrible -- but both served as a reminder of just how high Karma's bar actually is. In all my years coming here, I have never once been disappointed. Not once. The kitchen cooks with something that's hard to put into words -- a care and intentionality that comes through in every dish. You taste it. My husband is Indian and when I say we both have eaten at many Indian restaurants as well as eating homemade Indian food for many many years we can say we know good Indian food when we have it. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and very clean. Our server didn't crack a smile and after our food was brought to the table he never circled back to see how every thing was. I ordered the Mixed Platter and my husband ordered Vegetarian Samosas, onion Naan, and Malai Kofta. The Sheekh Kabob was dry like cardboard and overly seasoned and salty. The quality of the Chicken Tikka was poor, over seasoned and salty. The texture felt like it was very overly processed and the middle was still slightly pink. I couldn't eat the piece of chicken or the Sheekh Kabob. I only ate the one piece of Lamb Tikka which was ok and the Onion Bhaji was pretty good. The inside of the Samosas had the consistency of mashed potatoes and were bland. The Malai Kofta was horrible. The amount of cream was overpowering and the ground vegetable balls literally fell apart in crumbles. We've never had it made this way at any other restaurant. The onion Naan was good. On a positive note - there's plenty of parking and they weren't busy at all. We wouldn't return after this experience.
