Burgers are 5-stars for me, the best in town and honestly my favorite I've ever had, even with the gluten-free bun! I have been to both locations and while the Poughkeepsie restaurant has a nicer look to it and more space, the burgers in Wappingers somehow are way better still. Service, however, has room to improve. I usually get takeout from 21 Burgers, but with the amount of times I've had to wait twice as long as they originally said or they hadn't started my order even after I showed up and was waiting, I cannot give them 5 stars. read more

After passing this local eatery spot we finally were able to stop in and check it out! It did not disappoint. This will be our go to spot anytime we're in the area! The wings are out of this world! Perfect crunchy exterior, moist chicken, flavorful. We ordered a small portion of the Carolina gold bbq wings which was six wings and they were delicious! I ordered the cowboy burger and it was cooked just the way I love, I tend to order my food rare and most places never will cook it to my liking. The burgers are huge so come hungry! Almost on any given day you drive by this place is parking lot is either packed or 3/4 full and the three or four times I've been here I've been really pleased with the menu and especially the drinks they craft. I think the bartenders take a special pride in what they do as they will straight up tell you hey this cocktail might not be up to your taste if you don't like mezcal etc etc and they can substitute to your taste. Personally I think that sort of craftsmanship is a lost art and very appreciated. Fiancé and I were hungry and thought of this place so we figured we should probably go and see what it was all about. Firstly, upon entering, you're greeted by a wonderful wait staff full of smiles. There are lots of options. Fiancé and I also in tow with our infant daughter while enjoying the atmosphere and our conversing had decided on the Philly Cheese Steak Burger and the Paradise Burger and a side of sweet potato fries. Had a good hour drive out to Poughkeepsie for a cake tasting and ended up here on the way home. The bartender was the only one person but she was very kind and good at her job. When I asked about the wing specials she was able to recite them to me. The drinks were delicious. We got spicy cheese curds as an appetizer and they were super yummy. I got 2 of the wings specials boneless and there was such a great portion! They came out on a cool sizzling plate but best of all they were AMAZING. Probably the best boneless wings I've had. I've driven by this place a few times and it never looked open. I went there with my wife for lunch. When we got there, there was two tables, a high top table and two bar seats taken. We were seated immediately. The tables were just plywood with an edge and were sticky. Not like something spilled on them, just that they weren't able to be properly wiped and dried. The seats were just a bench with no contour and no padding. We ordered an appetizer or cheese curds and a burger and a fish sandwich. We felt that the ordering was a little rushed but that was fine. We were hungry. The cheese curds were pretty damn good. They had a nice crunchy coating and they squeezed in your teeth. I was pleasantly surprised that they seemed to be close to authentic. The burger and fish came out and again, pretty surprised. The fish certainly tasted good and was cooked properly. It came on a stamped bun with tomato and lettuce and tartar sauce. The fries were spot on. Cooked perfectly and had a nice coating. The hamburger was also good. A little messy but good. We weren't offered refills on our drinks but we found out after that it wasn't free refills which is a little much to ask in this day and age. Overall, we were please with the food, the atmosphere was a little weird. You are walking into a bar, not a restaurant. The music was definitely something for a particular ear and it was way too loud for what was going on. I'd go back again but I really wish they do something about the furnishings. We went on a Saturday a little before five, it was nice, full but not overly crowded. Our server, Emma, was delightful. She was attentive and generous with her time and recommendations. This is one of the great burger and wing spot I have ever been to. So glad I found it. We went for a family dinner. The campfire burger was AMAZING. Very filling, I could only eat half and the other half tasted just as good the next day as left overs. The sticky honey garlic wings were so DELICIOUS!! I'm definitely returning for that. The last time I was in this building, it was an Italian restaurant. Now, a new establishment 21 Burgers and Wings has nicely updated the interior space and it makes a world of difference! I understand this is a bar but they really need to clean up the place the table is sticky the floors are sticky and there is a lot of trash everywhere but my expectations were low. As far as food presentation goes it was awsome they bought out the wings on a big steaming platter and they looked good and they were. We ordered on grub hub and actually arrived way after we were suppose to thinking our food was already cold. Turns out they forgot to make our order but didn't tell us right away, it wasn't until waiting at the restaurant for 15 minutes that they actually figured it out. The evening manager who was at the FOH was extremely condescending and the wait staff looked so embarrassed at his response.
