Love The Hog! Great hidden gem. Owners are always friendly and easy to chat with. Fairly priced, quality food - The Hog is our favorite place to grab lunch on the weekend. The OG Birdie is, by far, the best fried chicken sandwich in the area. Essentially unlimited customizations, start with the OG Birdie and add anything you want to it. We usually have the chicken smothered in their Rooster Hot Sauce (an unbelievable buffalo flavor that's spicy without being obnoxious). Grab your napkins because it's extremely messy meal. We've only done take out because I'm fearful to eat it in public and look like I'm at an eating contest in Coney Island. Aside from the space, the staff, and the chicken, The Hog is unmatched in quality of ingredients. Despite eating their belly-buster Birdie sandwich, I always feel fine later in the day - a tribute to A+ chicken, oil, bread, etc. Order online or call. Tons of options for food if fried chicken isn't your vibe. Be sure to get a loyalty card to earn free food! Must go! Highly recommended.

Well, very well organized and beautiful location upon entering to me it felt like an old bookstore with the smell of fresh croissants. The bathroom is very clean and the study area / dining was relaxing comforting &was great. I loved the hand wipes. I ordered the BLTA it was delicious. My first bite was definitely a pleasant wake up call. The bacon was perfect. Although a little greasy I think one extra dollar he would've massaged my bacon slices.:))

Do not come here if you're on a diet. This is the kind of place Guy Fieri visits on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, where he will demonstrate "the hunch", the preferred method of getting as much sandwich as possible in your mouth. Having the ability to unhinge your jaw helps. The cook has excellent fry skills. The chicken in my Tennessee Jed was crispy and juicy. The condiments were gooey, sloppy and a perfect foil to the crust on the chicken. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They really should have a hose-down service. Paper napkins fold like a cheap suit in the face of the delicious mess of a sandwich here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The service here is well above positive and friendly, the guy was actively explaining the menu and making suggestions, you really feel the passion for his business and his craft in food. Plus the menu itself is extremely creativity, took me a while to settle on something since I usually like try something different and well everything was unique. Got the crab on titan, which had to been the messiest sandwich I could have, but still very good. Over easy egg was fried perfectly with plenty of yolk to cascade down the sides, never had a green onion pancake, but it was pillow soft and lightly sweet, the sweet chili clementine sauce was very sweet and savory, whipped cheese sauce I liked, but it was hard notice it much over the clementine sauce. Wonton slice was crispy and crunchy and crab meat was well seasoned. Honestly after I told what I idea of sandwich was it was interesting it was a deconstructed take on a crab Rangoon. The hash-brown was well salted and seasoned, very crispy, honestly much better than I had elsewhere. Overall I really enjoyed here, I could get a plane Jane sandwich or menu elsewhere that plays it safe, but here I get to try a twist on classics that pay off so well.

Amazing. Great food. Creative menu, artfully prepared & just delicious, everything I've tried. Good coffee. Sprouted wheat toast & homemade jams are out of this world. Been several times for breakfast & the food is always delicious, prepared so well. Parking is a challenge but worth a walk. Wish they opened earlier. Also, a bit pricey for what's in the area currently, but this place is truly worth it! Fantastic restaurant addition to an up & coming Village!

The Hog is the BEST little cafe! Delicious, home cooked food with a smile! The owners are so friendly, down to earth & happy to make you whatever you desire. Their menu offers different items that you don't typically see or with their own spin on traditionals. Inside is super cute, clean & has its own vibe. This is a MUST stop in Wappingers Village. They also offer take out a few nights a week for an easy dinner! Definitely the yummiest cheesesteak around!

Wow. That's what we said after our first bites. The food here is absolutely amazing. Fresh, delicious and great flavor combos. The Illy P, a true Philly cheesesteak, uses meat and rolls from Philly and it competes with the best places in that city. The chicken sandwich was crisp, juicy and delicious. The owners run the place and are so very nice. I'm glad it's not right down the street or I might never leave!!!!

When I research restaurants on Yelp for out of state trips, certain restaurants stand out and I know I have to visit. The Hog was one of those restaurants. The Hog has a very high overall Yelp rating, and a menu full of very cool sounding breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, burgers, jawns (iykyk, but think famous Philly foods) and bowls. It would literally take me weeks of eating lunch or breakfast at The Hog to order everything I want from the menu, but I ordered a "Grasso" Italian style hoagie for myself, and a "Blues for Tom" carved turkey based sandwich for my wife. The Grasso is not your Nonna's Italian. It has some familiar sandwich fillings like high quality hot soppressata and ham, EVOO, vinegar and oregano. Some stylized versions of things you know like shredduce, pickled onions and sun dried peppers. But I bet you've never had mozzarella's oozy cousin burrata on an Italian sandwich. Or whatever Garlic knot sauce is. This sandwich looked amazing. Tasted fantastic. The salty, sweet and acidic flavors really sang. The long hoagie roll was very good too. As much as I loved my sandwich, the turkey sandwich I ordered with my wife's tastes in mind may have been even better. It had carved turkey, Brie, Blueberry Chia Jam, apple, something called "rocket", toasted almonds and an unbilled starring roll for arugula (I believe). I've never seen this combination, but it played like a riff on the classic Thanksgiving style carved turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce. I don't know what this sounds like to people who eat a sandwich with just bologna, but it was amazing. The flavors and textures were so great. The country white bun was fresh and tasty too. The person who put this menu together is a culinary genius. So many cool options and unique takes on favorites. If you're anywhere near Wappingers Falls, you should go. Finally made it to The Hog and got lucky enough to score parking in the backlot as well. I've been aching to get in to have the OG birdie, but since it was early AM I went for the Morning Birdie. It was everything I was imagining, but MORE. My boyfriend had to tell me I had hot honey dripping down my chin because my focus was not on being prim & proper, but fear not, The Hog is prepared. They have a station, that is esthetically as cute as the rest of the establishment, equipped with wet naps, napkins and plastic cutlery; to ensure you don't have hot honey drip down your chin :) The husband and wife duo are killing it and super friendly too! read more

We went for brunch on a Saturday around 11:00 am. My wife had the OG Chicken Sandwich and I had the Tennessee Jed chicken sandwich. Both sandwiches were delicious!! I think we both liked the OG best but if you like spicy the Tennessee was very good. I liked it more once I got used to the heat. The chicken was thick yet so tender and great quality. The food is without a doubt 5 stars. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the atmosphere. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Although it's a cute small town place the ventilation system needs some serious upgrades. It got so smoky my wife had to wait outside due to her eyes burning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owners are very nice but should hire some help/waitstaff on the weekends. I highly recommend this place for the food. I will still go there but probably will take the food to go. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Adam and Corrinne have built a warm, welcoming space with wonderful smells welcoming you on a cold Fall day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The philly cheesesteak and chorizo sando had all the right ingredients and treatment. The bread is crunchy, the meat tender and savory and the other stuff done sparingly to highlight the meat. The sandwiches were greasy, and the philly had no green peppers, but they both tasted exactly right. Sausage made in house and everything was cooked and even packed to go with care and love. The food is fabulously delicious. Adam, the chef/ owner, shared the history of the area and maked the best fried chicken sandwich I ever ate. The Cole slaw was fresh and very tasty. By far the BEST chicken sandwiches in the area (or really anywhere). Been there a couple of times since "discovering" it (my son and his girlfriend actually found it), and have had a couple of sandwiches. They do "baths" of the chicken in different sauces and every one I've tried has been outstanding. If you are smart, you'll try The Hog! The owners seem to be the only employees and go out of their way to give great service. Great food. Wonderful service. Locally owned. Support this place please. read more

I was driving by a few weeks ago and this place caught my eye and boy am I glad it did!(also sad I didn't hear about it sooner). This place was worthy of my first review. I was in town this past weekend for a wedding, and to say I'd make 3 hour drive back to go here again wouldn't be an exaggeration. The sandwich options all sounded amazing, and the one I got (the McPenstock), might have been the best breakfast item I've ever had. I wish this place was close to where I live. read more

Ok, I can't say enough about how wonderful The Hog is. We go there all the time and are always happy! Along with their regular menu, Adam, chef, and co-owner is always coming up with specials that are creative and delicious. They won Best Fried Chicken in the Hudson Valley, deservedly so. If you are still reading this because you are deliberating whether or not to swing by the Hog for breakfast...stop reading and just go. YOU HEARD ME! Is there anything wrong with the Hog? Well, aside from it being a 10 minute drive from Beacon...absolutely no. The breakfast sandwiches are super creative and super delicious. The atmosphere is cool and clean. The chef is basically a rock star who makes Dad jokes on the side. Service is quick and efficient. Yes parking can be a bit of a hassle but hey, life in the big city and all that. You will survive if you have to walk two minutes to get here. And get here you should, because, well, I think the Hog is in the upper echelon of Hudson Valley breakfast/brunch stops. read more

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: really quaint storefront, and first impression.Enter through the cafe door which also functions as a retail shop for handmade objects like soaps, etc. The gifts have an upscale vibe-worth a trip back. We had about 15 minutes to kill before attending a Yelp event across The Street so we opted to take the chill off by purchasing a hot beverage at Norma's. The staff is pretty laid-back, friendly, but laid-back. If you're in a hurry, I'm not sure if this would work. The hot and cold beverages are very straightforward and you can get some vegan options here. There were two behind the counter, but I felt they were a little engaged in their personal banter and we're not that attentive. Not a real sense of urgency or purpose. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but once they did give us their full attention, we let them know that we were waiting for an event across the street and didn't have a lot of time. They asked us if we'd like to sit down with our beverage and we opted to do so since it was pretty cold outside. We ordered two hot chocolate And two homemade biscuits. They gave us a table number stanchion for the table and let us know they would be bringing it to us. We did not need to wait. We took the three steps down to the main dining area, where we were pleasantly surprised that they were having a live event - in this case it was a storytelling event. There was a table available for the two of us so we sat down and quickly realized that the table was so off-balance that it post a potential safety hazard. When I placed my hot chocolate down and rested my wrist, the entire table tilted forward toward me. This is an easy thing to fix, but my guess is that it's been this way for a really long time. That's unfortunate. All that aside, the room was really cozy and had a lot of character - lots of two top and four top tables to provide a very intimate setting with each one having a good view of the small stage Minutes went by and there was no biscuit delivered. More minutes went by and we began to wonder if they had forgotten. I guess is that they weren't making the biscuits from scratch so most likely they did forget. Since we had already paid for everything with a pretty generous tip, we waited a a few more minutes. Time ran out when we noticed that the event attendees were lining up across the street. That's something we could see from the really great big windows that faced Main Street. Reluctantly, my sister and I got up from the table and headed to the counter where we had made the order. We let them know that we needed to go and asked if the biscuits were ready. They seemed perplexed at first and then a lightbulb moment. Yes. I suspect they did forget the order. I wouldn't bother so much but two biscuits and two hot chocolates. It was about $20 plus tip so when they recognized that the biscuits were still missing, they asked if we would like to take them to go. The lack of awareness was disappointing because they were clearly not busy with anything else A minute or two later, they emerged from the kitchen with a small bag, presumably containing the two biscuits. Service was definitely lacking, particularly for what is a bit of a higher priced venue. Maybe we caught them on an off night but my sense is that laid back attitude is built in to the business model. Would I return to Norma's? I'm not sure. We also ordered the Turkish manti, and they were fantastic. Little handmade parcels topped with cool yogurt and warm spiced oil that brought everything together beautifully. We didn't even manage to take a picture because by that point we were so completely absorbed in the meal that all manners disappeared and we just devoured them immediately. No photo. No pause. Just instinct. That might be the strongest endorsement I can give. The mint lemonade was perfect for a warm day. Bright, refreshing, tart, cooling, and mint-forward without being overly sweet.
