Great owners, local help. Great bar. Food is simple and delicious. Soup is home made and service is friendly and fast.

One Legged Magpie is truly a gem and an unexpected culinary delight in Red Lodge. I wasn't quite…read moresure what to expect as we walked in, but from the moment we entered, I knew we had stumbled onto something special. The interior was a little on the dark side, but the warm, inviting vibe pulled us in. We navigated our way to the main section, finding two wonderfully comfortable plush blue chairs next to the bar. The small details immediately caught my attention--each table adorned with fresh flowers in charming vases, adding a thoughtful and personal touch. Our server was genuinely sweet and attentive, setting the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. I did notice they have an outdoor patio out back, but the atmosphere inside was too good to pass up. We began with the spring pea salad--an absolute standout--featuring creamy ricotta, crisp snap peas, fresh mint, and pistachios. It was fresh, crunchy, and beautifully balanced. We added a slice of toasted ciabatta bread, topping it with the salad to make our own bruschetta-style bites, which turned it into a perfect little dish. Next came the spice-roasted carrots, which were every bit as flavorful as they were beautiful, followed by the pork belly barbecue with a blueberry barbecue sauce. The sweetness of the sauce paired beautifully with the rich pork belly, creating a dish that was both comforting and elevated. For drinks, I had the Jayne Mansfield--a bright, refreshing, and totally unique cocktail--while my mom enjoyed the Lauren Bacall, which she loved. The restaurant's name comes from a fun and memorable story: the owners were discussing their plans to open the restaurant when they spotted a one-legged magpie. It stuck--and now it's part of the charm of the place. One Legged Magpie delivers on every level: warm atmosphere, thoughtful touches, incredible food, and a sense of place you won't soon forget. If you're in Red Lodge, this is a must-visit spot.

My husband thoroughly enjoyed the pizza special (not sure of the name but it had an egg over easy in the center). It too was delicious. What a fun spot. The atmosphere is super cool (music and decor). Service was fantastic as well. Thanks for the recommendations! Dessert

I love the fact they help Shelter animals like Help For Homeless Pets. Thank you for your support…read more They are a no kill shelter in this community that takes in dogs and cats and right now is the only Shelter that takes in cats or dogs from the county. They really need your support to continue their good work. We can't give up now. The animals need your help. Some of the needs that are critical right now is we have 2 rooms for cats that need remodeled. They are started but not finished. With the extra number of cats we are left with it would be a great help to get these rooms done. Help with supplies or labor is needed. Our outside dog kennels need to be replaced or fixed before spring. They are over 10 years old and are starting to rust out. They cost about $350 at Lowe's for the wire ones that work better for some strong dogs then the chain link ones. We have some chain link they also need fixed or replaced if you even have chain link parts or panels that you don't use we would live to have them. Thanks again to Dehler"s Hand for their financial help for our community homeless pets.

Luckily there was a ceiling fan and windows that open. Hotel lobby is large with lots of seating. Great place to hang out with others, eat takeout, or play cards. Didn't get to try the restaurant. absolute dreadful stay! None of the accommodations were open! No casino, no tavern, no restaurant…read more! Employees were in the lobby on their phones every time we walked through.. We chose this place because we thought we would have a place to eat, a place to have a drink and little entertainment all in one location.. when we arrived we were flat lied to and told that the tavern just closed early that day! After speaking to locals the tavern/casino hasn't been open almost all summer long. The 2nd day we asked again about it and all the guy would tell us is it was closed then acted like he didn't understand what I was asking.. Of course while on his phone sitting in the lobby. Woke up the 2nd day went down to get coffee and was told no coffee they had to clean the machine of course they were once again sitting in the lobby on their phones. 3rd morning had to go down to look for someone so we could get towels, 3 days and no house keeping, we had to actually go down and request for our room to be turned down... Well ended up just 1 out of the 5days we stayed there they actually changed our sheets and made the bed... The last 2 days they did bring towels and take out trash but that was it! No mopping no soap or coffee cup replacements.. they just brought towels... they offered wifi and we connected but still had zero service.. This was our anniversary trip and it was ruined sadly by the place we chose to stay... We will not ever make that mistake again! The town is small and options are slim but sleeping in a truck would have been better than staying at the Soda Butte Lodge...
