The salad bar for lunch was already set up, but there wasn't anybody in that area of the dining room. The breakfast menu is standard, and one item could be ordered as a skillet or a scramble depending on how you wanted your eggs. I opted for the skillet. It was an unusual skillet in that the bacon was really bacon crumbles. Nothing wrong with that, but it made it very hard to tell the difference between the bacon and the potatoes, which were small and nearly the same color. Overall, it did not look appetizing. There was a lot of food, but it was monochromatic with the eggs the only color, everything else was dark brown. I was hesitant. Fortunately, it tasted much better than it looked. The bacon crumbles were crispy enough to give some texture and the potatoes. some crispy, some not, were a middle point between the bacon and the eggs. While it tasted fine, maybe it wasn't the best thing to order, or the best time of day to order it. I suspect this place isn't used to having customers in the late morning. Oddly, there was no-one in the casino section so am not sure why there wasn't any attention given to the details. One thing -- does the only TV in the restaurant have to be on the 24-hour "need legal help" infomercial looping the same 15-minute segment? Takeaway: don't come here alone or without something to read.

For the omelette, you can choose either double meat, or 1 meat + 1 vegetable, & cheese. I chose rib dip, baby spinach, & Swiss cheese. Rib dip is shredded beef. I took my last bite, right before the time expired. For winning, I received the $36 meal for free, a hat, & a spot on the wall of fame. For dessert, we had a huckleberry cream cheese cinnamon roll! I am only their 2nd winner out of 55 attempts. *Since attempting this challenge, the restaurant has switched to an only breakfast menu. Buckeye just happens to have a bar and a slot machine casino. At this time of the morning there were a couple of people at the slot machines, two older men having breakfast and .... Was that a beer?....already? Anyway, the food was just okay. I suppose asking for lunch in the morning throws off the cook who might still be thinking breakfast. The bar-casino a few miles down the road (or is up the road?) was better, I think. The people were nice -- nice in the classic small town way that makes it a why-am-I-not living here-all-the-time, way. I'd stop here again, and probably will since it's on my way to a place I visit frequently. The gal behind the counter was assisting a gentleman and I found myself paying close attention to the transaction. I'm a hard sell and I was sold! She was so kind and patient as he counted out change to pay. Then worked on gathering his purchase, before setting it aside again to count out a small amount of change to tip her. She was so gracious and I found my mood bumped up a notch or 12. She smiled warmly and greeted me as she rang me up. I left with my $3 in water, a spring in my step and a smile on my face. The world can sure use a little kindness & patience. Bravo!
