Their 3-6 happy hour cocktails are only 7 but there is no watering down. The food menu is filled with options. Truffle fries are a must have! Love the location, ambience, service and variety. Whether you are here for an early drink or a late dinner- you cannot go wrong. I have tried their calamari, tuna tartare, lamb sliders and cali rolls. Never let down ! Went here for brunch with a friend last weekend, and while the food and my drinks were good, the service was very subpar and honestly confusing. We arrived about 10 minutes after they opened -- early, sure, but you'd assume they'd be ready for patrons. Instead, there was no one at the hostess stand, and we had to flag someone down to get us a table. Once we were sat down, it took over 5 minutes for anyone to even greet us or bring us menus. Then when we ordered drinks, it took 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive, even though it was just us and one other table at the entire place. Then things somehow got even worse from there. My friend's cocktail was the wrong one -- as in, it didn't look or taste anything like the actual cocktail he ordered. Since the server didn't come back for a long time, he drank it. When she came back and asked how our drinks were, my friend told her he got the wrong drink, and then the server admitted she had put in the wrong drink. He asked for a different drink, and it tasted horrible (I tasted it too, and it was truly one of the worst cocktails I've had outside of a frat party)... he couldn't drink it, so he sent it back -- which I promise is very unlike him -- and ordered the *original* drink he had ordered. AGAIN the waitress messed up the order and brought him another version of that first incorrect drink... it was super confusing: was she doubling down on her mistake? Can she just not tell those two drinks apart? We were flabbergasted. Long story short: they ended up charging us for all of those wrong cocktails! It was unreal, especially because he DID complain about getting the wrong drink and the taste of the drinks. I would've expected much better from a place that looks as nice as this. I did enjoy my Ultimate Breakfast Platter and the spicy Bloody Mary I ordered, but I probably won't be back because of how bad the service was. read more

We were invited to join some friends at 220 Merrill. Would not have chosen the place but joined in. To start, the atmosphere was suggestive of a busy New York all American restaurant/bar. It was hopping and vibrant. Felt welcoming and had a buzz to it. As a side note, it was hard to ignore how much make-up and leather was all in one place, then again....it was a scene:) We sat in the back with amazingly comfortable seats and did not have to scream to be heard. Our server was very nice and informed. We shared a tuna tartare, was terrific with quality tuna- minimal seasoning not to overwhelm and avocado to go along. After my bourbon (they have a reasonable list of bourbons and scotches, not the most extensive but some very reasonable choices) we shared a reasonably priced Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc which I have always loved and was a hit with the group. For an entree I had the Branzino; it is sautéed and thank you for note buttering the fish to oblivion or creaming it up to cover it true flavor. It was mild, tasty, and on top of nicely done over quinoa. It was a bit dried up for a Branzino. My wife had salmon on a salad: salmon was not seasoned at all and salad, well, it did not have much to it. Of interest, we got seated on time using our host's reservation. When they arrive they were made to wait 15' till we arrived . Perhaps front desk operations need some attention. All in all, we enjoyed the evening, ambiance was fun, service was ok, food depends on what you ordered but good for some and not for others.... I will come back and set my expectations accordingly. Price pour matched the experience. I wanted to give it 3.5 stars. Fits right there. read more

220 Merrill has good customer service. The short rib is always to die for, it literally falls off the bone. The flavor is impeccable with the wonderful veggies and mash potatoea to match. On the other hand, my friend New York Strip was tasty but was not tender considering she asked for medium well. The drinks were top notch and the dry ice in them is always a nice touch. Overall, nice ambiance with a decent meal. The price is standard for an upscale meal and actually reasonable compared to other competitors. As far as being Covid friendly (since we're not completely out of the woods), you feel safe. The staff are wearing gloves and wiping down tables between guests. You have the option to sit outside or inside with plenty of room to feel comfortable. If you're looking to check out this restaurant, I would suggest dropping by during their happy hour times 3-6p Mon-Fri. When you do see if the waiter George P. is around. This place gets a four! I love the atmosphere here and the overall look of the place. The appetizers are my favorite at this restaurant. I recently went this pass Saturday I got the tuna tartare which was amazing as usual. I also got the Caesar salad. The salad was nothing special tasted like a normal Caesar salad. I was hoping it would of been a nice grilled lettuce head with a crispy warm Parmesan chip. My other favorite appetizer that night was the calamari, California roll taco and key west shrimp. I never got my fries which wasn't a big deal but steak was juicy I don't know something was just missing! I was pleased with it all. So the filet I wouldn't order it again. I sat at the bar in 220 tonight to have some food and watch the playoff game. The bartender was MIA. She is warm incredibly warm, attentive and proactive. Her service was amazing. The drinks were perfect. I highly recommend the Wall Street. The food was amazing. Try the tuna avocado dish and the meatballs. They are outstanding. Now it looks like they changed it by putting some toppings over it which really didn't taste good. Price was average but that didn't bother me. What bothered me was I was in a group and when the bill came the waitress said, "we can't give out separate bills to parties over 8." This is 2018 no one carries big amounts of cash. Our bill was almost a thousand dollars. They still didn't let us do separate bills. Talk about an embarrassment of not carrying that much cash, as well as my friends. We went last night for a birthday and sat outside.one of the 2 heaters did not work . and the waiter did not try much to fix the issue.He said they were broken. then..20 minutes before we left, he turned it off completely! we were cold. the waiter was LAZY...LAZY.. never checked on us for more drinks. we had to flag him down. we were seated at 7:00, the asked for our drink order at 7:30, dinner was served at 9:00. just very slow and Lazy help. Terrible. Absolutely terrible. First the staff: The hostess was extremely rude and had a major attitude! We got over it and hoped service would get better... unfortunately it was downhill from the second we walked in. Our server took forever to bring out our food and drinks. Refills never happened. The food: terrible! We ordered a few appetizers and the mini burgers were very undercooked and room temperature. They were inedible. The charcuterie board had meat on it that was most definitely old, how gross! It was very overpriced and no, they did not take anything off of our bill nor did they fix anything. The place is super cute with chic decor and I was very excited to try it. Unfortunately I left with a bad taste in my mouth and spent over 100 dollars just to grab food somewhere else on the way home. I went to 220 weekend of my birthday 4/23/21. There is absolutely nothing I can say went wrong here. I was nervous of how my birthday dinner would go as I have heard they had a history of racial profiling; but I saw none of that this weekend. The waiter did encourage us to order as we were a bit indecisive and there was a time limit but that didn't bother me. Even the hostess noticed one of my gifts came unwrapped and put tape on it without even needing to be seen helping. Beautiful restaurant and delicious food.
