Sat down almost immediately. Servers were friendly and were present often for questions, additional orders, etc. Food was alright and there were options for the whole family. Restaurant is about an hour or so from the airport. Lighting choices are fun and unique, it sets a great ambiance and atmosphere in the room.

Got two chicken sandwiches and pretzels. There were lots of food, the chicken sandwiches were both large in size and so were the pretzels. They tasted really good, but the hot honey chicken was almost impossible to pickup because the sandwich was double the size of the bun which is not a bad problem to have. The fries weren't bad needed a dipping sauce, the pretzels were bad the cheese sauce was very good. Waitress was training but very nice, space was well decorated and both were very comfortable

Way overdue for an update of this family favorite that has really seen a resurgence to their original greatness. It is very rare for locally owned and operated to maintain a level of service and fare for as long as they have here at 23rd Street. We thoroughly enjoyed the deconstructed chicken nachos, roasted Brussels sprouts, Buffalo chicken mac 'n cheese (the Bill Self), prime rib and Reuben sandwiches and of course their World Class fish 'n chips! Throw in a dozen sample beer flight for $15 and you have a pretty nice sharing dinner with friends.

Tonight we visited 23rd St. Brewery, the food was delicious as always! We devoured the Grilled Salmon, The Manly Stanley and also enjoyed a couple of yummy drinks. Me The Tiramisu Martini drink and my hubby The Ol Fashioned, then we split a flight. All drinks were scrumptious especially the a tiramisu coctail. The flight was a fun tasting. Tonight Emma waited on us and did an outstanding job. When you walk in right now during Christmas it feels like COMPLETE CHRISTMAS JOY!! The place is decorated from top to bottom and looks gorgeous. I highly recommend a visit! Mac N Cheese is delish and a favorite on the menu.

Never been here before, but lots of space, lots of tables and it's clean. Super nice decorating for Valentine's Day. We're here for a bball game and my wife saw this spot on the news and wanted to come by for lunch. The drinks are tasty and the food is good. We got the pretzels for our appetizer and they were nice and hot. Then I got the classic Stromboli. Very good, AND ITS HUGE! Buttttttt, wasn't cooked enough on the inside. Not a deal breaker. It's hard to cook dough on something this size. I ate half and I'll take the other half and bake it some more. No worries. My wife got the classic flatbread and it looked big, and she liked it a lot. We will be back. Our server is awesome and very quick with the refills.

Food quality has gone down hill. I'm hoping that tonight was a one-off, everything that met the oven was doomed. The quality did not justify the expense. Will provide update at my next visit.

Salmon was a little but okay enough to eat. Fish n chips were tasty and a solid choice- only reason for two star review. Pizza was horrible and 100% frozen, not worth the steep price of $20. Tasted bland and like cardboard. Super greasy as well. Place was loud, service was average.

Drove to Lawrence from KC this evening to meet some family who drive from Topeka for dinner. I wasn't impressed. It was decorated really cute for Christmas. And our server was super nice. But the food was very overpriced and not very good. I got a burger ordered medium well and it was medium rare at best. It was pretty bland too. And $17! I can get a way better burger for half the price from so many other places. One relative liked their food and the other one only ate a few small bites because it wasn't good. 23rd street used to be good. And affordable. Now it is neither of those things. The two stars are for the server. If I was basing this just on the food, it would be none, unfortunately.

Good cheap beer, excellent fried pickles, mac and cheese lacked salt and otherwise was just eh. Very beautifully decorated. Overpriced. Would go again for beer and apps but not really worth it for dinner

Way over rated. I can't believe they actually seat people on bar tables by the hostess stand. Food is mediocre at best. Try another spot.

I came in with a couple of friends on a Wednesday night. It wasn't overly busy, but service was slow from the beginning. We waited nearly 15 minutes before someone even acknowledged us, and when we finally got drinks, two of the three were made incorrectly. No big deal -- we politely asked if they could be remade. The bartender (who we later found out was the owner) acted like we were personally insulting him by mentioning it. He rolled his eyes, muttered something under his breath, and walked away without saying anything. Five minutes later, he came back and slammed the corrected drinks down without a word. We were still trying to brush it off and enjoy the night, but it got worse. At one point, another group came in and was clearly friends with the owner -- suddenly they were getting all the attention, even being allowed to play their own music over the speakers. The vibe of the whole bar changed, and we felt totally pushed out. When I asked if it was possible to put in a song request like they did, the owner told me (verbatim): "This isn't a jukebox, sweetheart. Maybe try Applebee's." We left shortly after. I've never been treated so condescendingly by someone running a business. The owner seemed more interested in showing off for his friends than running a bar. No atmosphere, rude service, and a complete lack of professionalism. If you want to pay premium prices to be ignored and disrespected, this is the place for you. Otherwise, I'd recommend literally any other bar in Lawrence.

The restaurant itself is beautiful inside -- a cozy mix of rustic and modern that creates a really inviting atmosphere. Service started a little slow, though our waitress became more attentive once she came by. We mentioned it was our first visit, so I was a bit surprised there wasn't much guidance on the menu or any recommendations. At one point I asked about the two kinds of fries (I love fries!), and the explanation was simply that they were "fancy fries," without much detail on flavors or differences. We started with drinks and the Brussels sprouts appetizer. The sprouts were actually very good, with a nice balance in the sauce, and both the wine and sangria were refreshing. Unfortunately, dinner is where things went downhill. Our meals -- a steak and a gluten-free chicken sandwich -- took about 45 minutes to arrive, which felt long for relatively simple dishes. I had asked about the gluten-free bun since they can sometimes be dry, but didn't receive much insight beyond "it's gluten free," and sadly it was indeed very dry. The chicken itself lacked flavor, though the goat cheese cilantro sauce helped make it somewhat enjoyable. The fries looked homemade and delicious but arrived cold. The steak was cooked as requested, but it didn't have much flavor beyond the mushrooms on top. The broccoli side was tasty, and the potatoes were good, though it on a bed of Some kind of cheese sauce that wasn't quite to our liking. Overall, the space and gluten-free availability were promising, and the appetizers and drinks were enjoyable, but the food execution and service details didn't quite meet expectations for us this visit.
