Please don't believe the 'hype' that is surrounding this place for having 'the best fried chicken and wedges' in the NoVA area, because it's just not true. If you came here by falling for the so-called influencer videos or reels, please don't waste your time or money - while the chicken that we had ordered was supposedly 'made fresh', it was bland, dry, and was fried in very old oil. This gave it a very off-putting taste and odor to it, along with the wedges, that could have been more seasoned and cooked a bit longer. Super disappointing! The staff here are super friendly and kind, which is a total plus, and their mart had various random items, from marshmallows to auto products. There's a small lot in the front, and it could be difficult to get in and out, depending on the traffic. +old oil! +friendly staff

Supposedly, the best fried chicken in northern Virginia.

This spot does have some good fried chicken it has a homemade type of taste. The potato wedges are decent but nothing to write homemade about. The customer service was absolutely outstanding. I also like the fact that they were cooking everything right at the time I was ordering not sure if the do that all the time but if you are in the area check there chicken out. They also have other foods on the menu as well.

Lunch special (fajita beef/regular chicharron + pork belly), rice and beans, corn tortillas.

I saw a TikTok about this place and legit hopped in my car to go immediately. I was not disappointed. While they seem to be known for their chicken and potato wedges (both decent), the real stars are the fajita beef and regular chicharron. I got the lunch special+ (usually comes with 2 proteins but I added one) and it was EVERYTHING. I went back three times since. DO NOT FORGET THE GREEN SAUCE! They also sell a canned passion fruit juice I love as well. My favorite quick (not so little) meal!

Stop by to get some chicken heard so much about how great the chicken and wedges were. So came by after work to get some food. The chicken was a little over cooked which made it very dry. The wedges were delicious and I definitely come back for those only. It's convenient store so not sitting area or anything but the customer service was great.

Had to stop by 24 express because they have the best potato wedges around. It's been in the community ever since I was a kid. In the section of Alexandria we call Chirilagua. Nice little small convenience store that has a little fast food counter with latin or Hispanic food specialties and a food comfort favorite fried chicken. I didn't get any today. I got the best hand down potato wedges in the world. They are lightly coated and fried to almost buttery perfection. Whenever I'm on that side of town I get them. If you want wedges better than Royal Farm go there and you won't be disappointed.

Food -- Chicken is fried pretty well and is one of the best choices in the area if you want some fried chicken. The potato wedges are delicious. Price -- Overpriced for an 8 piece and some wedges ($17.99) Area -- Small parking lot Customer Service -- Friendly and very quick transaction.

It was still good because it almost tasted like a tortilla filled with pink pasta sauce but I knew it wasn't the real deal. The bean and cheese one was good. For 2 pupusas it was a little under $5 and came with the pickled cabbage and tomato sauce. Two was filling but I maybe could have gone for 3. The staff was very kind. They do have a variety of items on their menu. Do not be confused by the outside like I was. It does appear to be just a liquor store on the outside but the deli is located at the back of the store, if you keep walking to the back when you enter.

This place is located in a convenience store, so when you're approaching the address, it's not very obvious that this place is located inside due to the lack of signage. This place has limited hours and I believe they open early for breakfast and close at 4:00 p.m. I originally wanted to call in my order, but didn't see a decent menu online and/or prices, so I made my way there. I got there maybe about 20 minutes before they closed as I saw the chairs up on top of the tables in their seating area. I immediately just ordered the carne asada tacos, the pork pupusas and the cheese pupusa. I took it to go, brought it inside my car and because I didn't eat lunch and it was almost dinner time, I literally picked up the cheese pupusa and ate it in my car. It was piping hot and delicious. I didn't even put the little salad / hot sauce on top as I was really hungry. Overall it was really good. Of course, I moved on to the taco and thought it was kinda small, but thought to myself I should have ordered one more. I think it was comparable to the price that I paid, but for someone that was hungry I knew that maybe four wouldn't not be enough but thankfully the pupusas filled me up. I didn't finish my food completely as I drove home because I wanted to really sit down and try the food. My overall feedback on the tacos is to probably ask them to make my tacos medium rare if at all possible. Secondly, I would probably order at least five and maybe four pupusas. I think that would satisfy my craving and I would be full. I love supporting small businesses so if you are in the area, please stop by and try out this place.

El Pulgacito is a small cozy spot this sits in the El Salvador settled neighborhood called "Chirilagua," after the city in El Salvador of the same name. Known for its authenticity you can't go wrong for some great Central American cuisine. The pupusa portions are massive compared to other places, if I'm hungry I can only eat two. You have been warned going on thinking you can knock down four lol. My favorites are the steak and pork. Their curtido is the best I've had as well that comes with the pupusas, and it's slightly mixed with warm salsa and it's just so good. My go to drink is the Tamarindo, I'm not sure if they make it in house, but it seems as if they do. If you are into tamarind drinks and flavor, it's a go to for sure. I just call it the Central American sweet tea lol. The only other dishes I've tried were the Lomo Saltado and the enchilada, although they were ok, I personally wouldn't get them again based on the taste, portion, and price point of the pupusas. The service is always nice and attentive. You can't go wrong here if you are in the area be sure to grab you a pupusa.

There are some parking spots right in front, although not many. There is a decent amount of seating, but it would be tight if you had a large party. My partner did note that the bathrooms weren't that great. You immediately get served complementary chips and salsa. They were pretty basic, but not bad. We ordered the following: + Papusas (Pork and Cheese & Loroco and Cheese) - Decent, although I prefer the Loroco (an edible flower bud). + Pollo à la Primavera (chicken dish) - Yummy, especially the sauce which mixes well with their hot/spicy sauce too! I could do without the salad dressing. + Camarones con Calabeza (shrimp dish) - Same as above! Note they leave the tails on. + Natural Juices (Mango and Maranon) - So refreshing! I loved the Maranon (cashew apple) was a wonderful burst of tropical sweetness with a subtle nutty taste. I appreciate that for the pupusas they had the foresight to provide my partner and I two plates so we could sphere the papusas. The portion sizes of the entrees were great for the price. It did take a while for the staff to swing by so that we could get boxes and the check. Note that credit cards and mobile pay are accepted. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back again to try more items on their menu.

I ordered the chicken enchiladas, a meat pie and a side of refried beans; hubby got two pupusas - bean/cheese and pork/bean. We also got refrescas, I got the melon/pina and he got tamarindo. The melon one was delish, mostly canteloupe flavor. The tamarindo was a little tart for me but still good. Important to know (and I did) but enchiladas at a Salvadoran place are not the same as Mexican or Tex-Mex enchiladas; they're what Mexican cuisines would call tostadas. Chicken, cabbage, cheese, a tomato slice, and a slice of hard boiled egg on a deep fried corn tortilla. These were delicious and the favorite part of my meal. I was worried that pickled cabbage would over power the other flavors but it didn't. They were great. The refried beans were so-so, I probably would skip them next time and the side portion is tiny. The meat pie was great though, I would get that again too. I had a bite of one of my husband's pupusas and it was good but I liked my enchiladas better. The prices here are extremely inexpensive. Our whole dinner was like $20 plus tax/tip I think. That's almost unheard of. The main issue is that they brought my food out very fast and then another 20 minutes til my husband got his. They could work a bit on timing orders a bit better. I shared, fear not, but orders should come out together. It's not a huge deal but an area for improvement.
