It was an awkward round window and I took a photo and sent it to Perkins via email, they responded quickly and professionally. When I finally got the window ready to replace, I took it in and was impressed with offices and staff (Lizbeth is a rockstar!). I could see that they do big commercial jobs and that us do it your selfers aren't the priority. But, I felt like I got the same great service and was very pleased with the pricing and service. You need to bring in your glass and install yourself, but Perkins can give you some great guidance and I had very quick service. Highly recommend, hope I don't need you guys too soon! Would be great to know if they had residential replacement partners they use, sometimes our double panes need replacing.

Went to HHL for insulation in our ceiling for warmth and noise reduction coming from upstairs…read moreneighbors. Was told the job would take 4 or 5 days, ending taking over 3 weeks. Was told the sound will hopefully be reduced from anywhere between 30% - 70%, somehow, it got worse. Each time we asked when things would be completed, we were told how busy they were with other jobs, wife & I felt taken advantage of. After they were done, turns out the noise got worse, somehow, the noise feels as its more amplified, to the point where we had to move our entire bedroom, something to do with cutting into our RC channel to spray the insulation. Reached out to get some clarity, but was ensured that couldn't be possible? Anyways, this was our first experience doing any sort of contracting work & was a bummer to say the least.

A big broken window that I had been ignoring for a long time finally got taken care of today…read more Process was quick, from filling out website form and having 2 guys come and measure the next day. They were very informative about why this window had failed and I had a bid by the end of the day. I pondered a couple different options for replacement and ended up going with what was being replaced instead of matching the other window next to it. Paid deposit thru web portal and then communication was quiet for ~1 week with no follow up to inform when the build might be complete and ready to install. Received call about another bid which got this one back on track WRT communication and what to expect. Got couple messages about changing the install appointment, first earlier, then later an hour later. Was ~2-3 hours after the original appt time quoted the week prior. Installers came and took care of everything. I introduced myself and then they told me their names. When they were done, they just left. Felt like an odd interaction, but everything went smoothly and no more broken window, so not dwelling on a different experience than the rest of the interactions I had. Finally, price was very good and their vehicles have company name on them, which seems to be a rare thing when I see other trades working around my neighborhood.

An 80% initial payment ($800) was demanded (last minute!) when taking measurements, accepting only cash or check. Neither of the two requirements were communicated over phone/text. Frank said that he "assumed" everyone always has cash and checks lying around so he didn't bother asking over the 3 earlier phone calls. They also charge customers for the entire cost of the mirror so they don't have to pay a dime out of pocket for procuring material. 2. They don't respect time. A 2 hour delivery window was provided and they arrived 1 hour AFTER the delivery window. Meaning that I had to move appointments last minute to accommodate their unprofessionalism. 3. The hole for the power outlet was cut too small and circular, instead of the right size and rectangular. They took off the plate, exposing the insides of the outlet and left it that way. Frank then refused to fix it and argued for 20 minutes over the phone, making personal remarks to my husband like "I thought you know how to do electrical work, your wife was bragging to me about how you can do anything", random, made-up remarks to fit his agenda. Suffices to say that they don't give a crap about providing good customer experience.

I didn't even realize the glass didn't match the original until after install. We spend over $3200 for them to replace the glass with whatever they had and not the glass that matched the original.

I'd much rather be here to review the quality of their service, but unfortunately we have to talk about what it means to run a business. Running a business means communicating well, understanding the customer, staying true to your word, and accurate bookkeeping. Sundo, their bookkeeper, loses invoices, mixes up terminology, and makes up fees along the way. The original cost our project to restore 5 stained glass panels was quoted at $2,960 for which we paid a deposit of $1,480. Because SSG was poor at communicating, they later realized it would be $8,666. I asked for evidence of these costs being discussed and agreed upon prior to starting the project. Out of respect for the craft and cost of labor, I brought them a check for $8,666, less the deposit, yet they still wanted more. When it was time to pick up our stained glass, they refused to honor our deposit and they tacked on a monthly storage fee without any coordination with us. Amidst this dispute, they cashed our check anyway. SSG had also agreed at the start to install the glass into our windows, but based on our experience up to this point, we would be happy just receiving the materials and moving on. I went to their studio to pick up the glass to find that the storefront had been entirely boarded up. I called to find that they had moved locations to a residential address in north Seattle. I followed up via email again to determine when and where I can pick up the materials, and this is when Sundo began toying with me. She feigned ignorance over who I was, denied any knowledge of our project, and said she'd email me. Over a phone call she could not answer these simple questions and she ultimately hung up on me and blocked my number. Sundo is a dishonorable and disreputable professional that may ultimately sink this company due to her poor bookkeeping and communication skills. I've seen comments here on Yelp that SSG has chosen to name and shame their own customers who leave negative reviews. Lucky for all of us customers, I keep receipts. It is a shameful and disappointing thing for SSG to punish their own customers and violate their privacy because they can't run their business well. I take no pleasure in sharing my experience with others on Yelp. Artisans working with stained glass are so rare that Sundo and Seattle Stained Glass are threats to keeping the craft alive in this area. To further dissuade anyone from engaging in a project with SSG, I won't even share photos of the finished product; it's imperative that you lead your assessment of SSG based on how they conduct business. The best advice I can give to prospective customers is to seek out alternative studios in the Seattle area if you have a project with stained glass.

I have a daycare center, first time I knew them cuz I need to change a glass door, I contacted Raze the owner and he acted very quickly, showed up at the jobsite measured the dimension of the door and ordered the door immediately. Second time I contacted Glassma due to a glass damage, as usual Raze stayed on top of it and arranged his staff immediately to helped us out. Third time I need to replace some cipher locks, Raze ordered the products for me the very next day and had his technician over to install it. Fourth time I need to change a glass to tampered glass, and ordered it for me and had it installed within three days! So helpful and so fast and so good quality! I would highly recommend Raze and his team for any emergency situation! Trust me they will take care of you, efficiently and great quality!

I did and asked the person I was on the phone with to hold on. He proceeded to condescending speak to me about how this was a commercial zone and I asked if he was allowed to park here cause he didn't have anything on that would show he was a contractor and i couldn't see any badges for your company. I then told him he was being rude, but I would move and rolled my window up. He got back in his truck and let off the emergency brake which allowed his truck to roll forward so I could not pull out. I tried backing up a little to give him the hint I was stuck, but he sat there for 20 minutes. After I could finally get out after having to back and forth four or five times, I pulled out and was able to get to a parking space on the other side of the street. He then got out of his car and decided he needed to come over and told me to roll my window down so he could once again tell me about that parking space. Things got heated because I was tired of his tone, which only got worse when I pointed out he should probably be speaking in a nicer tone since he's representing his company. I come from dealing with a lot of subs and contractors in my life and my family's life. I would never let a single one of them talk to me that way and I hope you don't let him get away with telling you that I was "a karen", because that is not what he got from me. What he got was someone who was nice until they were treated like an idiot for no good reason - all he would have had to do is have walked up to my window and have said "hey maam, sorry, but you're actually parked in a commercial zone, do you mind moving?" And none of this would have happened.
