David was super professional and quick. Like really quick. He gave me a few options for my front door lock that has a deadbolt. He was able to pick it quickly and I'm back in business!

David replied promptly and showed up on time. He did the job with competence and helped to troubleshoot a stuck lock in living room door. I had a brand new Andersen part which he installed and aligned properly. It is not easy to find an Andersen installer so this was a big plus. I would highly recommend him with no hesitation.

Not only did he come out same day, he had all the locks completed within 30 minutes. Great customer service and the locks work perfectly. Even offered to allow me to use Zelle to save on any extra fees.

I have a property in Tempe area. Buyer beware!! I needed my front door knob and lock replaced due to a hardware break. My initial interaction with David was positive and I was happy he responded quickly. I assumed I would get new hardware that functioned the same as what I had (I did not!), and my discussion with David was about the hardware finishing and getting a key that matched my other lock. Unfortunately, David never communicated to me that the new lock would not work the same, and I'm certain I would not have deemed that acceptable. I lacked some technical knowledge and mistakenly assumed the "pro" would communicate more clearly. I realized after the repair that the hardware he installed was inferior and less functional than what I initially had in place. He charged me a lot of $$$ which I paid due to the last-minute nature of the repair. Sadly for me, I was duped. Buyer beware!!

Make sure you get a quote by phone before you have Daniel do any work. I needed a new lock for my daughter's new townhome. We were not in a rush, just needed an old keypad lock in the front door replaced. I originally asked for a quote for a Schlage keypad lock, but when Daniel met with my daughter at her townhome, he told her that a Schlage I wanted installed was just the same as a regular deadbolt, and that was all she needed. Daniel and my daughter both called me (because I was paying) and Daniel told me that he was going to install a regular deadbolt, not what I had asked him to install. Daniel said that we did not need a Schlage, they were too much trouble. I explained that I already have the exact locking system and I love to be able to lock and unlock my door remotely. Daniel told me that he had already talked to my daughter and he was just going to do a deadbolt. I arrived at the townhouse about 30 minutes later, and he had already gone to the store to get the lock and had installed it. He also rekeyed the lock on the back door to match the front door lock. He charged me $450 for a ten minute job. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

David was wonderful. Very nice, polite, professional, and helpful. He explained the costs and reasons behind having a single or double sided lock for my patio security door. While he was here, he noticed that the lock on my front door needed attention. It did. I knew that. But it wasn't as important as my security door for which the locking mechanism would not work. UPDATE: I paid David, in advance via Zelle, for his work, including an additional $150 increase which I will explain later. This morning, I received a past due invoice from him for $739!!!! See below. I also requested, MORE THAN ONCE, a detailed, cost itemized receipt from him for which he has still NOT sent. David promised me a discount if I gave him a five star review prior to him starting work on changing out the lock on my security door to by balcony. I was in a hurry as my HOA decided to do major work on our balconies, patios, and building. We were given 5 days notice. I also am going into the hospital the same day work is to commence and will need several weeks to recouperate. Being put in a bind and seeing these 5 star reviews, I used David. He gave me a price which was a little high, but I accepted it. Before he went to Home Depot to get the lock for this "simple job" (his words), he asked for cash. I only had $40. He was put off and told me to "keep it". He told me then to pay him the full amount via Zelle. I did. As his toolkit remained, I knew he would be back. When he returned, he purchased the wrong size lock and it was too big. He had to drill the hole larger on my security door. And drill. And drill. I held the door steady for him as he drilled. I handed him his screwdriver and then his drill as he asked. It was a very hot day. I got him damp paper towels for his sweat and offered him cold drinks which he refused. However, he was frustrated and used many "F" words. Once he got the lock in, the locking mechanism was now too high for the frame. The price of the job got higher. Another $150 for less than five minutes of drilling. All in all, I paid $739! I could have purchased a new security door and had it installed for that. He even agreed! Yet, he didn't think he should pay me labor for being his assistant! He quickly left as he had another job to go to. I texted him for a detailed cost itemized receipt. I received a generic receipt for the total amount and a list of the tasks. I wanted a detailed cost itemization as he promised me a discount for a 5 star review. He also told me he didn't charge for the lock being keyed to my original key, etc. So, I wanted to see these itemized charges for which I have a right to see! As I complained about how the price of this "simple job" kept incrreasing, he told me that he "didn't put a gun to my head". Yet, he did. He knew I was in a hurry and he knew I was in a fix. I suppose I should have had a half job, no lock in the security door to my balcony, and still paid a pretty penny. Yet, he complained to me about seeing a dentist later that afternoon and how every time he goes there, the dentist finds something else wrong and needs to do more work. I find him no different. Just because he bought the wrong size lock is not my fault. Yet, according to David, it was my fault that I had an old door and that the lock wouldn't fit. It was also my fault that the door wouldn't stay steady while he drilled the hole for the lock even though I held it for him the entire time! He then told me he would reimburse me $50 via Zelle and that this was for the five star review. I did receive the $50 quickly via Zelle. This morning, I received a past due invoice for $739! I went to look at the receipt he texted me and it, too, was not a receipt but an invoice for $739! David has still not sent me a cost itemized receipt! He genuinely wants to solve your problem and get you taken care of. George helped me get back into my car and also made me a copy of my car key. He also chopped the lock on my shed that had never worked properly and fixed the mechanism. I thought we were going to have to rip the whole thing apart and replace everything, which I was pretty stressed about because the door was so old and I didn't want to mess with it. George came out, looked at everything, and actually figured out a way to fix it instead of just throwing parts and labor at the problem and running up the bill. I'm sure he saved me a lot of money and a lot of wasted time. Other locksmiths gave me very low upfront quotes, and I've had that happen before--then when they show up, the price ends up being many times higher. George gave me a really reasonable price over the phone, and when he arrived, the final price lined up with what he had quoted. It wasn't anywhere close to being a bait-and-switch. He also went the extra mile with the security of my doors. He backed out the old, short screws and installed much longer screws, giving my family a more secure setup and a little more protection if someone ever tried to kick the door in. I also had him replace a deadbolt and install it below the existing lock on another old door. The door sits pretty high off the ground and has a huge step-up, so this non-standard placement made more sense for the way I use the door. I asked George to do it that way, and he didn't hesitate--he just did exactly what I asked. George is a good guy, does excellent work, and always tries to go the extra mile to help. I highly recommend him and Premium KeyLock Locksmith.

And after charging $600, we were told, "a key is extra." That was honestly the cherry on top. I fully expect to pay more for urgent service on a holiday, but $600 for a basic interior unlock is outrageous. In my opinion, this felt like taking advantage of someone who was in a time-sensitive situation and had very little ability to shop around once the locksmith arrived. If you use this company, get the full price in writing before they touch the lock, and apparently ask whether a key is included too.
